Hi all,
Did anyone get 3G (HSDPA / UMTS should be both supported on these networks!) to work on the Telfort / KPN (Dutch) network?
It seems with the default network settings it does not pick up 3G, only GPRS / EDGE?

I've got no problem using both 3g and HSDPA. The connection is called GPRS though, maybe that's the confusing part. When using them, there are symbols 3G and H in the top of the screen. Good luck
I am sure you know this, but nevertheless: if you do not take out a data subscription, KPN/Telfort have disabled UMTS; you will then ONLY get gprs.

You also need to request a new UMTS enabled simcard.
check you rom version, if it does not depend on your provider
So far 3G for works for me only with Radio rom at least 1.27.12.17 and OS >= 1.56.406.5.
Have run Radio rom 1.27.12.11 for a long time and no 3G connection @ all regardless of data or voice.
With radio 1.27.12.17 some calls on 3G were possible, but still more outages then connections.
Now I tried the french OS (1.56.406.5) together with radio 1.27.12.11 and for 4 hours 3G is stable. This is not very mature, but it is a tendency that it is not the radio rom only that trobles the 3G connections.
@all: Thanks for the tips, yes, UMTS/HSDPA needed to be enabled (remotely) on the SIM (even though I had enabled Max Online on my subscription).
@dauphinas365: Does this unstable 3G connection mean that you are unreachable when 3G is connected (which is the case on my Kaiser)?
How can I check what kind of connection (GPRS / UMTS) has been setup?
Mobile: Tytn II (Kaiser)
Provider: Telfort + Surf&Mail
3G connect with KPN on my phone.
And gsm connect wiht Telfort on my phone.

Yeah, same here. But officially you should be able to be called during 3G, but in my case the caller gets a busy tone...
Can someone reach you when you're on 3G?

need a bit of advice i have the rom version 3.34.721.2 one of the original HTC roms. i cant seem to find an option to enable 3G on my phone. i have tried going through my phone menu ...option...network but i dont seem to have the option to change from gsm to utms or dual mode so that i can use 3g or hspda on my phone .. any advice ?

Have you tried Kaiser Tweak application? Using that on my phone to play with the bands.

I have a question for you: with this phone, if they are undercover 2G (the symbol "G" above), I can surf and receive calls at the same time? I realized that surfing or exchanging data with the network, however, if they are under cover 2G and I am called by someone, can not reach you .... The phone work correctly with undercover EDGE and 3G .... (But I have Vodafone Italy, which has no EDGE coverage ...)
Eventually, someone could kindly try setting "GSM only" and give it a try surfing while calling the terminal?

The 'G' symbol is not 2G.
I believe 2G is Edge... but I might be wrong there.

as title i make this question.i often connect to internet by 3g connection.i went to setting/mobile network then i set data connection: on,3g connection: on and my country APN.My Hd7 work well ,but only "use 3g connection when availale". it almost switch to 2g network

Go to the dialer. Type ##3282#. Go to settings, under 'Network Type', choose 3G only. If it's already on 3G only (I think it moves back and forth between 2G only and 3G only while on Automatic mode), change it to 2G only, then back to 3G only. This will keep it on 3G only.
