Hoping that someone can help me here.
I was using my HTC touch diamond with WM 6.1 and it is an official rom, when i received sms msg, the time is always showing 4 hours behind from the present time.
what i have done is flashing my phone with BSB's WM 6.5 and thought it would work, but turns out that i still have the same problem,
sending sms out to another person, the time stamp is correct. just when receiving it, i am having this issue, can someone look into this and provide me with a solution?
MANY THANKS!!!!!
correct time zone in "clock & alarms"?
yes, it is in correct time zone!!! and still have the same issue.
Aye I and my girlfriend both have Touch Diamonds and they both suffer the same problem. :/ I have also updated my Touch Diamond to 6.5 and still have the same problem.

I don't know if this is the ROM upgrade (latest Wizzard test rom, but it started before, when I was on the Himalaya ROM), or if it's my phone company, but I'm loosing a lot of SMS: People send me messages, and I don't get them! Does anybody else see this, or should I get my phone company to fix something?
Nope, you broke something.
The phone company will get very confused if you try to explain to them what you did.
sms reception is a pretty basic function for the phones, so if you're not receiving ANY, then there's a software hook that's not being activated.
Try to roll back to another ROM.
Curious, you say you're using the Wizard ROM, but used the Himalaya ROM before that, yet you're posting in the Blue Angel forum.. Poor phone !
No, I'm not loosing all. I just got two SMS warning me of this reply! Anyway, I use Maimach's test ROM's, and I must say that both have been better than the leaked BA WM5 ROM I used before them. But I do loose some SMS. They just don't arrive, or at least they don't show up.
Not that i recive tons of SMS, but i do recive what ppl send me as far as i know....
SMS receiving problem
there are quite a few posts here about this problem (see posts under my name)
the problem seems to happen on all derivates of the XDA and is network independant.
The problem is linked to the XDA "waking up" and a weak signal. I can recreate this problem at will. The XDA 2i will wake up on receiving an SMS but immediately loose the network. It will re- acquire it but no SMS notification will show and the SMS will also not be received (but a confirmation message will be delivered to the sender). If you send two SMS the first one will be lost and the second one (now that the XDA is awake already) will be received fine.
see if you can recreate this as well
I can confirm it, especially since I hear the SMS arrive on the car radio (static from the cellphone), but then nothing happens. This didn't happen, at least not as much, under 2003SE.
Hi there
I've been having issues with SMS on WM6 - the OS issue is the only common thread between the two devices I have had trouble on.
It all started after I upgraded my JASJAM to WM6 using some of the cooked roms on this forum. Short Messaging would work for a while, and suddenly go on the blink with all messages you try to send remaining in the Outbox. You also dont RECEIVE SMSs. WHen I checked with the operator, they confirmed that messages are being recorded as 'delivered' on their system.
Funnily, I would start receiving SMSs every time I changed a ROM (and I tried out different WM6 ROMs for Tytn) before it went on the blink again. The problem also occurred across multiple networks when I roamed, so it wasnt network-specific.
The issue was not brought up at the Forum as I was planning to upgrade to Tytn II as soon as it came out. And so I did (upgrade, I mean) last week when the device was released in Dubai.
Surprise, surprise - I still have the SMS issue. I was able to send & receive SMSs for a while, and it went on the blink again after I received 2 or 3 replies.
I'm now convinced that this has something to do with the receipt of Short Messages, but would like to check if any of you have had the same issue.
For the record, I have tried the following to try and solve the issue:
1. Soft reset.
2. Deleting the Inbox folders on my storage card.
3. Turning Push Mail off (I assumed it has something to do with the two messaging streams being on all the time).
4. Clearing all SMS folders of their contents.
5. Turning "Delivery Notification" and "Use Unicode Messaging" options ON and OFF, together and separately.
6. Turning my SMS signature on and off.
In short - I've done everything short of a hard reset. I know the damn thing will work for a while if I hard-reset, but I cannot bring myself to redo all the customizations I have carried out on the new device, particularly the GPS software installation.
HELP!
Just a thought - did you try replacing the SIM card you are using?

Its not network or SIM card specific - I have had the same problem with about 6 different SIMs (I travel a lot).
BUZZ!!!
Any ideas, guys?
Are we really talking about a jasjam?
That's not a TyTN II / Kaiser, is it?

We're talking about the Tytn II / Kaiser / P4550.
I mentioned JASJAM because I had the same issue when I upgraded to WM6 on my Jasjam.
i'm not being able to send sms with the default program... looking for an alternative to try
edit: installed sms threader for wm6.... that seemed to help, i was able to receive text from skype and from myself... of course the text i was originally trying to send still won't go...
I was finally able to send the sms to the contact I could not connect to before. instead of texting from inside of "messaging" and adding a contact as a recipient, I selected the "send text message" option in the contacts area. oh, the reason I think the sms threader helped pertains to the test sms I sent through skype being received directly afterward. there was a twenty minute gap between send and receive.... it could all just be coincidence.... and works when it feels like....
Figured out the issue - since the problem occurred on my Hermes after I upgraded to WM6 and continued on my TytnII I assumed it had to do with some of my add-on software not being WM6 compatible.
True enough it was a vcard application I have been using for about 3 years now across multiple PPC Phone devices that was causing the issue. Removed the software, reset and my problems have disappeared.
Now I need a stable, light vcard application that I can trigger from contacts. Suggestions, anyone?
well, i think the format i have the number i'm trying to text to is saved incorrectly.... what format works for people country to country?
i'm trying to reply to a norwegian text, and it never goes through. i know can receive them no problem... there is no issue for sending or receiving texts within US... did not have this problem under WM5...
hi all,
I text a lot with a person from a different timezone (they are GMT, I am GMT+1) and the messages I recieve have the timestamp of the originating timezone instead of mine... this has happened on a WM5 device (ipaq) as well as my new tytnII, but wasn't happening on other phones (SonyEricsson K750 and M600 (which is Symbian))
it doesn't annoy me as such, as much as it bothers advanced messaging programs... I've tried 3 different threaded SMS applications and they all get very confused by it
has anyone come across this problem before? any known solutions?
thank you!!
Don't know about you, but this quirk annoys ME very much.
It causes my text messages NOT to sort properly by Received date.
(I'm in south east Asia, receiving text messages out of New York and Zurich).
Try PocketCM. The smsintercept.dll rewrites the timestamp to when it was received. Although it doesn't always work.
I tried pocketcm (do I need to do something special with it or just have it installed?) and nothing happened
my normal sms notify still comes up tho, it just shows pocketcm under it
What version did you try?
the one offered for download? 0.18?
Dunno. Works for me.
I am having the same issue, very very annoying, especially when texting people in 2 different timezones, keep having to scroll to the top and back down again!!
I tried PocketCM, but that doesn't change the received time, and its threaded messages (looks great btw), get screwed up by the confused timezones.
Surely there must be a way for pocket outlook to sort by received rather than sent, seeing as nearly every other phone out there doesn't have this issue!
Nobody have any ideas on how to 'fix' this?
I used to be annoyed with my old phone (SE M600 (symbian)) that used "recieved" time to sort the messages (meaning delays and turning off the phone messes up the time)... I'd gladly go back to being annoyed with that instead of this...
can anyone hack together a solution for this?
I'm offering a bounty of 50$ to the person who posts a solution for this
thanks!
Hi guys.
I just bought my XDA Diamond and updated it to the new official o2 Firmware version 1.93 something.
Unfortunately my XDA doesn't run as smoothly as it did before. From time to time multiple errors occur at the same time. First of all it's hard to make a call - the phone can't establish a connection. If I'm lucky and the phone establishes a connection I can't hear my dialog partner and they can't hear me. Furthermore the ring tones don't work (I can't hear them, the phone only vibrates) and if I get a text message I can't hear the text alarm but the phone keeps vibrating until I change the profile to silent.
The only way to solve these problems was to switch off the phone and switch it back on. The errors occur at random times, I can't predict them. I can send text messages while these errors occur but calling is impossible
I was in an o2 shop and asked the personnel there what the heck's wrong but they only told me "switch it off and back on".
I assume there's something wrong with the software since all the errors occur at the same time. Otherwise there could be a hardware defect. Because of that I'm afraid to load a cooked rom - warranty and jazz.
Has anyone experienced something similar and/or is there someone who can help? It's really annoying to never know if I can call someone/someone can call me.
Kind regards,
Martin
got exactly the same problem .. when i got the diamond i started "optimizing" it with tools like advanced config. after playing around with cache settings it occured for the first time so i thought it might be a memory leak. then i made a hardware reset and applied the newest official O2 rom. problem is still there randomly, so its a hardware issue most likely. strange thing that u got it when updating the rom. maybe there wasnt enough time for it to appear before ?!?
i checked google and there have been similar issues with older htc devices. some stated it might be a shortcut with the headsetfunction. unfortunately it seems to be very rare, so theres no official statement in faqs etc. will have to send it back and hope that i get a working one.
ps : do not mess around with the warranty. just send it back.
Thanks for your quick reply.
The guys at the o2 shop told me that it's a software defect (the guy I talked to said he's got the same problem) and that they can't help me.
I will definitely go back there and force them to replace it. The randomness of the error is the most annoying thing. One minute it works the next it doesn't. It's impossible to use the XDA as a phone at the moment.
I've never had any problems with my last six cells. I'm pretty disappointed with the Diamond
PS: Does anyone else have an opinion on the topic? Maybe a solution, hint, help in any way?
I highly appreciate any response.
Sincerely,
Martin
denk dran dass du als onlinekunde bei 02 anrufen und es selbst zurückschicken musst. die antwort hab ich bekommen als ich im shop stand.
Hi Martin,
did you try to re-flash the diamond again? Maybe something went wrong by flashing the 1.93 ROM. Had the same problem with a ROM from here, but I don't remember which one it was.
So, try re-flashing. The O2 1.93 went well on my diamond.
Kind regards,
Volker
Can you confirm where you obtained the official O2 rom from.

No, I didn't reflash the device. Can I flash it again with the official Rom without doing something? Kind of override the ROM with the same ROM?
I got the ROM from the o2 website o2online.de

Yes, no problem. However, first download the update file once more. If you can, try another browser / download manager, just to be sure there is no transmission problem.
If that doesn't work, try flashing the "old" firmware, if the problems don't persist, it's no hardware problem for sure. Then try another GER 1.93 ROM from the developers.
I did a re-flash of the original ROM. Haven't experienced the headphone/microphone problem again yet, but I often lose the connection after I answer incoming calls. The network symbols in the top line (3G or G and the network symbol) show a "X" and network plus an "!". After that it reconnects and I can call back.
What the heck is wrong? This is so annoying!
edit: strangely there was no ring tone when I answered the incoming call.
Hi folks.
In addition to my other problems a new one occurred. (Almost) every time I get an incoming call my phone looses the network, causing the call to end. Strangely, the phone shuts itself down from time to time while I'm answering incoming calls.
I went to o2 and they have the phone sent and repaired. As soon as I get it back I will tell you what was broken and or done to fix it.
Maybe someone here will experience a similar deterioration of their Diamond - but hopefully not!
Kind regards,
Martin
Meh, I've been a diamond user for a couple of months now and as of this week I'm getting these problems as well... Got into an argument with my girlfriend because of me not hearing when I'm being called. I don't have a mobile phone for nothing I want to be able to receive calls damnit!!!
It doesn't ring and/or vibrate often, and switches to 'silent' mode. At first I thought it was because of a soft reset I did recently, but then it also happened when I didn't reset it
Also, sometimes the 'phone application' (i.e. the dialer) doesn't come up when I'm making a call or receive one. So I can't answer the call.
I have original ROM (1.93 Dutch) that came with my phone. I did some tweaking though and I use S2U2, but they worked fine before...
I'm seriously considering going to T-Mobile and ask for an Omnia or something. Heck, I'd even pay for an iPhone...
Hi, I've been having a problem with my HTC Kaiser SMS service
It receives SMS normaly, but sometimes it just doesn't receive the messages. It looks like random... sometimes it receives de message normally, but sometimes it turns on just like it's going to receive soemething, but nothing comes. I've done a test with my operator site sending me messages and most of them are received, but some of the messages simply doesn't come.
My girlfriend told me that she gets the confirmation of my receiving all of the messages she send mt, but some of her messages are not received by me.
is there any solution
I use the original HTC ROM with windows mobile 6.1 (ROM ver: 3.29.707.0 WWE; radio: 1.65.16.25 ROM DATE 05/07/08)
can someone help me
I've tried to hard reset my phone and reinstall everything manually and sync my agenda and contacts from my computer database.
I have the exact same problem!! It doesnt happen very often, but happens once in a while. I am using Anryl's WM 6.5 21725 Final Release, Radio 1.71.09.01 eMO, and is a Swedish TyTn II. I am also using JGui's SMS Reports Eraser. Anybody got a solution for this???
I also have the same problem! Anyone with a solution?
intersting
I thought I was the only one to have this strange and inexplicable problems in my device... does anybody has a solution for it? thanks
Its really frustrating!! No one has a solution???? maybe flashing a new ROM would help???? but i don't want to flash unless i know it will work for sure, coz i got all my settings and softwares customized to my liking. I tried changing the radio, but it doesn't help.
Guess what people?!, It's been a week since I had to Hard Reset my TyTn II and apparently my problem is solved! I have received all sms and mms so far! Maybe you could try to HR and see what happens...
Okay, will try. Thanks Arrgntmnc
SMS is not a reliable service. That's fact.
Even on Symbian or some other dumb phone. You can get a 'false' delivery (some operators although not all, do that, once they sent out, their Service Center will give back the delivered, without waiting for actual handset delivery)
I guess I did it!
Hi, I tried to hard reset my kaiser... nothing
I installed the Phoenix III ROM... nothing
I installed the original HTC ROM... it worked!!!
I've been on my second week testing. I'm doing this. When the sms problem begin Icould see my cell phone ligts up as if it was going to receive something, but nothing happened. Then I turned off the auto turn off in battery settings and I always turn it of after using it... So, if someone try to send me a SMS and the phone light up, I will know. 'Till now I haven't spoted my screen on. I'll test it for 4 more weeks and if it works I will post to you
actually, jsut goto you SD card and there will be a folder called inboxXXXXXX... if you ahve that problem.. just delete that folder.. it fixes your problem.... Try to manually open the SMS messages.. does it jsutn ot load? then that is definatley your problem.. this problem effects most all WM devices...
