fmradio.cab query - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i have searched the forum, but couldn't find anything concrete for my problem.
I have installed itje's touch-it rom, and am trying to open the FM radio application in that. But it gives me the following error.
"The file fmradio cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found"
Anyone know what the problem is? I have installed sdkcerts on my xperia.

50 views, but not a single reply?
Anyways, forget it, i will install the new media panel

Can someone provide a file from their kaiser?

I'm looking for the HTC ACC Decoder from someone's Kaiser.
I tried to google it, but found nothing. I've checked the forums and nobody else seems to be getting the same error as me.
I downloaded "HTC Audio Manager 1_2_816716.cab" and attempted to install to my Wizard. It works, but gives an error message about the missing ACC Decoder. I'm assuming since nobody with the Kaiser is getting this message, it must be in your OS.
Can someone search their \Windows directory for the file? I don't know the name of it, but I'm guessing that "*acc*.dll" would be an appropriate search.
Many thanks if you can help.
Sorry for the bump, but I don't want this to get burried.
Anyone feel like checking their Kaiser for this file? It won't take more than 5 minutes.
Is it looking for an ACC or AAC decoder? I have an AAC_Reader.dll in my windows folder, nothing about ACC though.

It says "Can't load HTC ACC Decoder."
I may just need to reinstall using a cab from the Wizard forum, but I was looking for a version of Audio Manager that allows touch scrolling...
Thanks for looking anyway.

If you had the certs cab installed when you ran the cab itself all should be OK, if not, unistall and get the sdkcerts.cab from the sticky at the top of this forum. If you are trying to run a digitally signed stream (the ones you have to subscribe to) you may also get this type of error.
I grabbed sdkcerts.cab from duttys cab repository site
uninstalled the cab for streaming media.
rebooted
installed sdkcerts
copied zip files to windows directory for streaming media
copied lnk file to windows start menu programs
installed cab for streaming media
still doesnt work.
used this post for the files
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288857
Still getting message that not signed or missing files.
The weird part is that I dont see anything in "remove programs" for sdk certs.
No you wont, the cab only changes reg entires (basic write to reg cab) but won't hurt anything.
Hmm, I see this a few times and (please don't shout at me cause loads of others do!) it almost seems that there are not only various carrier versions of firmware out there (we all know that) but also there maybe different version of hardware out as if HTC have sold earlier version to carriers in bulk AND also quickly upgraded their own to cover HW faults!!
(anyone please note I am not a HTC lacky!!! I like to see evidence first!!)
Soz, bit of a rant there...
It does start to look as if carrier tags are embedded in the hardware/firmware. We have seen this with Tom Tom not working on some revision ROM's and also on carrier devices flashed with later 'cooked ROM's.
Needs further investigation but I am sure it will happen here.
We need a hardware guy to have various devices and see if any carrirer units have hidden CMOS chips holding carrier info.
Soz.

Any way of stopping certificate checking?

Hi guys,
I have had to get a new Tytn II here in Australia due to water damage on previous model .... a real fun time
Previous model had WM60, this one has WM6.1.
W 61 is creating a problem cos I run a program called Winterface. I love it - does what I want. However the previous manner in which Winterface operated (notifications, program handling ...) is not happening.
I contacted Winterface and they asked me to download newest version to see if that would fix things. I have but I cannot install it.
I get the following message:
"The file PowerDemon' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file. "
So is there a way of disabling certificate checking from within 6.1??
looked on the phone and via google but nuthin has come up...
Cheers
Get Kaiser Tweak for this forum and there is a setting where you can disable certificate checking. It sounds like it's more of an app problem than anything else.
Thanks for that - i have installed Kaiser Tweak and the problem persists. Definitely an app issue. The VITO support is helping me at the moment so hopefully a resolution is in sight.
cheers

Well, you have your answer right there.
Only 2 choices: either ask Vito to correctly signed their apps and files (most likely), or they really gave you crappy app with something missing.
BTW: Vito is well-known crapapp maker.
It started as very innovative company - now its just moneymaking crapola.

@MACkjam
No user of commercial software (which he *paid for*) should have ever resolve to "unlocking" his phone or such in order to use the commercial software on it, man... its a blasphemy
Just to be certain, check the security level with this tool on your Kaiser:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...8C-D587-47E0-908B-09FEE6EA517A&displaylang=en
It may still be an unsigned module problem... Be careful when you change security levels, it may be impossible to reset them without a hard reset.
Hi guys,
VITO responded to my email outlining that disabling the security check did nothing.
A new version of Winterface was released (1.15) and voila it installed and runs as it used to under W6.0. VITO help was great and it looks like problem solved.
-888- - I was interested in your comment on VITO being a crapapp maker. I have found Winterface, SMS chat and zoomboard really good apps - in fact the best I have seen for Win Mobile. Just my opinion of course.
many thanks to everyone for their input and help - really appreciated!
BTW - I will be using Kaiser to reset the certificate checking.
Cheers

Cannot play embedded video files in mms messege

Hi there!
This is my first post, so I would like to start it with this:
Great forum!
I've found many great updates and tweaks to my tytn around here, and also been given the oppurtunity to try out a few different roms! Very nice work from just about all of you!
- keep up the good work!
--- problem description ---
However, there's a few thing I cannot find an answer to.
One of them is the mms function - I belive the program is arcsoft (don't know wich version)
The problem is not the one where people are unable to download mms messeges.
I can download them and view them. For example - opening an mms with included image is no problem.
But I cannot do the same thing with mms containing video-files. Mostley all of my friends that send me videofiles does have sony eri.. phones, and I'm pretty sure they use the .3gp format for saving video files.
So, when I try to open the video file you can see the timeslide moving, but it wont display any video nor it will play any sound.
If I instead save the file to any location and then open it in a program like coreplayer it will play just fine.
Another problem wich probably is related to this is the fact that I cannot view the video files that I record with the camera directly. It says "cannot open/play the file" in wmplayer...
--- I've tried this ---
I have tried to add some missing .dll files to the windows directory wich I found in an older thread. No good thou..
Also tried to set the the files to open in coreplayer instead of windows media player, but with no result.
Another thing I've done is trying different roms. But because I didn't noticed this problem until "a few roms ago" I don't know if it did work in any of them.
Will continue to try anything I can come up with.
--- And the solution is... ---
changed to another rom, garmin v6. Now its working.
I'm having the same problem, too. Is there a fix to this?
I'm using a stripped down rom and I don't want to sacrifice the cleanliness of it just for videos....
But I'd really like videos.
Got an email about a reply to this thread. I'm sorry thou, but I have not found a fix, since I installed another rom instead.

Date and/or Time problem with Garmin XT partially solved

Hi guys,
For those with time changing / switching / problem using Garmin mobile XT, here is a nice workaround.
Evolving from Garmin iQue to Mobile XT was never having my phone clock on time again. Every time I used XT I had to check if my phone clock and date was ok.
I was tired of trying every single Garming XT version with diferents Kaiser ROM's and nothing was solved. So I developed a tiny .net console application that wraps Garmin execution and monitors time changing, restoring original time in case of change.
My TyTnII is running WM 6.1
Rom: Hyperdragon III
Radio: 1.65.24.36
3.sj.hd.03
25.94.40.06h
Garmin XT Version 5.00.20wp
Installation and use:
Compact Framework 3.5 may be needed if it is not installed.
Download the attached file.
Copy all 3 files from zip in any directory.
i.e. "\Storage Card\Program Files\GarminXTClockFix\"
This app need the location of your "Que.exe" file as a parameter. So you may modify the original "Garmin Mobile XT.lnk" in your "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" folder to target GarminXTClockFix.exe. Or you can create another one.
i.e. 30#"\Storage Card\Program Files\GarminXTClockFix\GarminXTClockFix.exe" \Garmin\Que.exe
(I included my .lnk file too, just in case)
From now on, you have to run Garmin from the modified shortcut
And that's all, I know that this is not THE final solution, but I hope it can be useful just as it was for me.
Please feel free of giving some comments here and any kind of feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers.
Diego
UPDATE: deleted mediafire link and uploaded an attached file.
Thanks
Hi Diego,
Thank you for your post, It’s has been very helpful. I hope you can post other solution.
Regards from ARGENTINA,
JuanMatias81
I have determined that the time change problem occurs if GarminXT does not quickly get satellite lock. Apparently there is an undocumented feature that sets the device time from the GPS signal, but if it does not get a lock, it sets it to midnight GMT.
My solution is to prime the GPS with the BAF GPS Toggle today plugin before starting GarminXT.

Fixed!!
I fixed mine!!!!
Just went into Start>Settings>Personal Tab>Phone>Time Zones Tab, and Un-Checked the "Auto change time zone and clock" box.
There is no problem for me because in my country (Costa Rica) we don't have time change due to change of season, it's always the same.
I don't know why MS put this option there. I think that the place it corresponds is in Time Settings or Regional Settings, but in Phone Options???
Still don't know why Garmin XT is the only one program that does this thing.
No more clock/date changes for me!!!
I hope this can solve the problem of many of you, since there isn't a reasonable solution yet.

Unluckily my clock settings were the first things that I've tested, with no solution for me.
I've just updated my solution, with a minor fix regarding problems with time zones like Caracas -4.30 or Teheran +3.30
Hi Diego!
I tried your method but I'm not able to run it. For sure I'm doing something wrong.
My phone is an iPAQ 910c, Windows 6.1 in Spanish w/ CF 3.5 Installed.
I moved the .lnk file you attached in the zip into Start Menu/Programs and tried to run it with no success.
Also, the name of the exe from Garmin is QuePPC.exe.
If you can please explain me the following step you added, will be highly appreciated, since I'm not sure on what to do here
"This app need the location of your "Que.exe" file as a parameter. So you may modify the original "Garmin Mobile XT.lnk" in your "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" folder to target GarminXTClockFix.exe. Or you can create another one.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi there, maybe we have different Garmin XT version, but I think it wont be any problem.
This little program needs as a parameter the location for your QuePPC.exe
So, before trying to run the "GarminXTClockFix.exe" you have to modify the .lnk that you've copied.
Tell me where you copied the GarminXTClockFix.exe and the full path of your QuePPC.exe so I can assist you.
Hi! The version I have is 5.00.20wp, which I believe is the latest.
The path I placed your software is inside of the Garmin folder:
\\\Garmin\
I'm sorry for misleading you. I was looking previously at the files in the SD card, used for the installation. The software is installed in the phone itself, not the SD. In there, I found the Que.exe file. That queppc.exe I mentioned can also be used to execute the program from the SD.
The Garmin folder includes Que.exe and Garmin Mobile XT.exe. Both also execute the software.
Now I got this error when running GarminXTClockFix.exe, the phone shows this 4-color symbol meaning it's processing something but then just disappears executing nothing.
Any idea on what could be wrong?
Thanks in advance for your time!
Hi Diego! Would you please tell me how to use it? I'm still struggling with it...
Thanks a lot!

Hi! sorry for the late reply, I was on holidays
First of all, I have to mention that this partial solution is not working 100% properly for me. Meaning that my kaiser system clock is still changing from time to time Next weekend Im gonna give a try the latest WinMo 6.5.
Saying that, the error that you mention is simply because you are trying to run a 2nd instance of Garmin XT, when that happens try looking in your active application manager (ie task manager lite) and "bring to front" the existing garmin xt instance of the software.
But if you weren´t able to run at first time, you may check your .lnk file where is looking for your garmin original .exe file.
If you are still having problems, attach here the .lnk file that you are using so I can help you solving this.
Diego
