What recovery image? And what 2.6.2 ROM? Did you use the Sprint RUU?
Edit. Oh. Darchdroid. nm. Which recovery image?

How are you trying to get to recovery? If you're using adb, do adb shell reboot recovery.
Or try powering off, then holding home and hitting the power button. I've had mixed success in getting to a recovery menu with quickboot and other menu based recovery boots.

Um. How are you flashing your recovery images?
I might try nandroiding back to a previous ROM then doing a flash_image recovery 'yourrecoveryimgname' and see if that helps.
You might also check the darchdroid thread and see if there's anything in there. I don't use it so I'm not sure, but I seem to remember others having issues with certain recovery images.
why don't u just flash back to godspeed recovery for the time being, until i can get my 1.7 recovery sorted out for everybody's use

Hey im going to be on for a while i can step you through this. Just pm me and we can find a easier way to talk a.k.a., Irc chat server, face book chat dont matter to me
hell or just call me
If it doesn't work, tell us too what errors you are getting so that maybe we can help.
I had the same problem recently where I had adb shell and root access, phone worked fine, all except for no recovery console and I could not flash ANYTHING to the phone. So if you have the same errors, I might be able to offer assistance.
Happy Trails!
Here is a simple fix. I had this problem my self, after I flashed something I shouldn't have
Go download the rooted test 2.1 RUU by damage. (use search to find it)
MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY HAS AT LEAST HALF A CHARGE.
Run the RUU and follow the instructions.
Your recovery partition is probably f***ed. This is an EASY way to fix it.
Once the RUU finishes. Re-flash the recovery img of your choice using ADB + Fastboot. (search for guide)

Hi all,
I've unlocked the bootloader on my Nexus One.
I got the message that there was a new froyo update. When I try to install I got this error: "Verficiation failed".
Is there a way to install this new update, like a force on the verficition check or installing the official bootloader again?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Dirk
Do you have a custom recovery?
?
From what I've read you may not want to update, being the main fix is to disable/make it more difficult to root. You may want to for your own reasons, idk. Just putting it out there.
First, thanks for the reply's.

It could be that I have a custom recovery (I've followed a manual, and there was a step to choose for Nexus bootloader or Cyonogenmod bootloader. I've choosed Nexus.
Is there a way to get the official custom recovery back?
I don't have a custom rom.

I am stuck without recovery i accidently lost it while trying to flash another recovery..now my phone doesnt boot..so is there any other way to flash recovery without rooting again..i tried flashing it via fastboot but im using hboot 1.33.001d so cant flash anything there...as the verification fails..can does anybody have an idea how to skip the signature verification..
As written in this thread you can flash the
orange-xxx.nbh via fastboot, then boot the rom and you have a full engineering SPL installed. From there you can continue as you want, i.e. flashing new recovery, new SPL, new rom, etc.
which firmware will i get after flashing this..and fyi i am using g1 us version..
I just thought of one other thing to try first. Install Android Commander on your PC. I have successfully reflashed Amon RA recovery with the new radio/SPL from there - there's an option to flash a recovery from your hard drive.
http://androidcommander.com
Failing that, you'll need to start with the nbh, then flash radio/spl/recovery using the instructions provided by Ezterry for installing the radio/spl.

It's a frensh one, but you will not boot into it, because you'll boot directly into bootloader/fastboot. It's only needed for the engineering spl.
Sent from my Gingerbread on Dream using XDA App
all you do is flash the orange nbh so than you can wipe recovery and flash new one... than you want to flash your radio(2708/2825) than flash spl pretty simple and very convenient lol was in same situation couple days ago

does the nbh flashing take a long time...
na it doesn't take long at all it really easy.... you are doing the orange nbh right?
do you have fastboot drivers set up? because you need those... lol
can you still boot up your phone? cuz if you can, what you do is go to rom manager and flash the CWM recovery from that

no idea about the fastboot drivers i just diconnected usb and now cmd says that status read failed <too many links>>
so you dont know if you have fastboot setup on your pc...?
yeah i think so but i use android commander and everything via usb..
and yes it was about 30 mins i waited nothing happened..
it says verification failed i attached an image of that
ok power off the device and reboot to fastboot mode, rename the orange file you have located in the sdk/tools folder to 'orange.nbh' now get to the fastboot cmd and type 'fastboot flash nbh orange.nbh' tell me what happens after that?
Hej guys. I really hope that you can help me with my problem
Have been trying for 2 days and looking at post but haven't been able to get it fixed.
Here goes.
I have been playing around with custom roms on my htc one for a while now.
Then when i was about to install a new custom rom, i first wiped my phone.
I properly wiped something that should not be wiped, because i ended up with no os and no custom rom zip file that i could install in twrp.
I then tryed sideloading revolutions, and it seemed to work because it ended up booting on the phone and i could select what programs too install with it... but halfway through it stoped and rebooted.
now i cant even get into recovery anymore, and booting the phone only gets it to htc briliant logo. Then it restarts and tryes going into recovery, but it cant, and ends up just restarting over and over again.
Tryed flashing cwm and twrp again, but still cant get into recovery.
adb dont fint my device, and i have tryed all drivers i could find.
Tryed using a RUU, but it fails. Properly because its not the right one, but cant fint one that fits.
Sooo... i think im in a real pickle right now.
my radio is :4a.14.3250.13
hboot: 1.44.0000
Thinking about going back with my phone, but with the warranty gone i dont know if they'll even look at it.
Hoping for some advise, or some ideas on what to do.

So I'll try here first. I am having the same issue, I can't get the device to boot into recovery, no matter if I clear the cache, or flash either one of twrp or CWM.
I unlocked the bootloader, I think used the all in one toolkit to flash the recovery. When that didn't work, I erased the cache and manually flashed the recovery, and it said it pushed successfully.
I am at a loss, I have no idea what to try next, any help would be appreciated.
******Finally got it, I had to disable Fast Boot in the Power options in Settings******
How do you copy update.zip from external to internal SD?
Sorry if it's a total no-brainer, but how do I manually copy a recovery zip to the internal update.zip? Can I do this from my phone (which is stuck in a bootloop: see below)? Or do I have to use ADB with my computer?

My situation:
Using Open Recovery I tried to install CM7 with custom kernel on my XT720
It gave an error: "assert failed: write_raw_image... Status 7" As I was looking that up, my phone blackscreened. After a while I pulled the battery.
Then on startup it went into a bootloop after a picture of a broken screen saying "2ndboot kernel restart in progress." (Presumably the kernel wasn't properly applied?)
Trying to boot into bootloader says battery is too low.
Phone will only turn on when plugged into outlet.
What I think I need to do:
- Copy a good update from my external SD over the bad update.zip on the internal SD, and apply the update to reset the kernel, etc.
- Open Recovery could do this, if I could load it.
- I could load Openrecovery if I could get the bootloader to run,
- I could get the bootloader to run if my battery would charge
Hey,
I dont know how different things are now, i installed a RUU with lollipop and i've been trying to flash TWRP but after i try to get into recovery and i got stuck at the logo with "entering into recovery...", adb detects device and nothing happens, tried to delete cache still didnt work.
