removed it as in pulled it out? XD
try typing
Code:
fix_permissions
into console/terminal emulator (that should still work)
if not reboot into recovery (home + power) and press
alt + x
then type in fix_permissions

Major RA-dream Problem

Is it normal to NOT be able to wipe the Dalvik-cache and ext partition??
It always gives me an error saying it doesnt exist? I am able to install ROMs and themes however. Any ideas or recommendations on what to do?

Do you mean the below?
Partition Fat32/Ext2 with App2SD
Open up Apps2SD
It will show you a screen telling you that your card is not partition and you will have a sliding bar to choose the amount of space you want for an EXT2 partition
I suggest a max of 600mb for EXT2 space (I use 500mb)
Press Ok
You will get a Force Close screen DONT PRESS FORCE CLOSE PRESS WAIT
You will get a reboot message, Press Reboot
You now have a EXT2 partition
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Upgrading your EXT2 Partition to EXT3
Note: You do need the Cyanogen Recovery image for this to work!
Reboot into Recovery (Home + Power)
Go to console (Alt+x)
Press Enter
Type the following in the Console:
Code:
upgrade_fs
Wait for it to finish
Congrats! You now have a Fat32/EXT3 partitioned Sd Card!

If you get a error about run via console or something you should remove sd blow the slot then place the card back in. Your sd might be the prob though so see if anything changes.
I see i noticed you have a older Ra which has bugs you should upgrade to theh newer version that have those things fixed.

Yes it does say run via console, blew the slot several times and same thing, even blew on the SD card and nothing :-(
Perhaps it is time to change out this SD for a newer one, could be its going out on me?

Upgrading to the latest and greatest RA is my next step, hoping this will fix my issue... thanks for all your suggestions so far.
@ilostchild: thanks for your input as well.
Okay so I installed the lastest RA Dream and am still getting the same error.
I am going to test out a new microSD and see what happens. I just have to make a temporary folder on my desktop copy, format the new SD to fat32 and copy the original files and folders I had back into the new one right?
Also, will me not having partitions be the whole reason behind it? Even the Dalvik-cache?

yes................ that would be a reason why you can't wipe your ext partition. you need to have an ext partition to wipe it.

Stuck on "X" boot screen

Hey guys, so I was trying to get darktremor to work on my phone, got it installed and it booted up fine. I downloaded the darktremor app from the market and ran that, I selected the 2 options to move my data\app and I forget what the other one was to my sd-ext, After that it rebooted and now I can't get passed the "X" boot screen.
I know it's a problem with the sd card because if I take out the sd card my phone boots up just fine.
Thanks guys

Yes I did. I ended up just factory resetting my phone and using RA Recovery instead of clockwork. Works great now. Wish I didn't have to restore it because I lost some stuff but it appears clockwork 3.x has problems with ext partitions :/

[Q] Sd card not mounted in recovery?

Attempting to install RocketRom, but my sd card is not mounted while in recovery. I am on Stock KJ4 right now, rooted, and ready to go. I went into recovery and wiped my cache to prepare for the backup and install, but when I try and do anything it can't find the sd card. Any suggestions?
Also, I have a couple other questions that I hope can be answered...
1. What is the hardware button combo to get into recovery on the Note? I have just been using Terminal Emulator.
2. Also, with Terminal Emulator, I have a problem with the keyboard not showing up after the first time I use it. Only an uninstall and reinstall will get it to show up once more. I have tried to toggle the keyboard, but that doesn't work.
Any questions that could be answered would be much appreciated! I really want this ROM installed. Thanks guys!
Anyone? Someone must know what is going on here...
yentlequible,
Recovery is VolUp+Home+Power to hold until being in recovery.

I still can't figure out why the sd card won't mount. Surely someone must know what is happening? Anyone?
UPDATE: It appears that it was just an error from my own stupidity once again. I was too used to my old phone, so I didn't see the option to choose zip from internal sd. I was just selecting the other one...

[Q] SenseDroid Build Wont start to the "press Volume Down"

Hey Guys,
i have a problem with installing the SenseDroid Build by jerrytan93 . it says i need to start the Haret.exe , which i do. but the start up never come to the point, that i need to press down the volume button to enter the CWM. what am i suppose to do?
Edit:
The Haret always stops saying: cant mount SD Card. Cant countinue. Tried to format SD Card again and new Partitions. Nothing happend... Another Build isnt working for me either.
Thanks anyway
Joschilly
by the way, i do have the xperia X1, so dont get it, why it wont work. reseted my phone several times by now
I think your problem is in sd card partitioning!!
You must first create a fat32 partition, then the others!!
The message "press down the volume button to enter the CWM" will be appeared about 10 seconds after you run Haret. So keep your eyes on the screen.. If you dont press the volume down, booting will continues automaticaly and then fail.

Before start installing android that Jerrytan gave, You need to make partition on your SD card to 4 parts. one fat32, and the others ext3. After done, just follow the intruction..

Internal SD suddenly became r/o only

Hi,Running on AllianceROM 4.1.2
Was running well when this problem came after my phone crashed and restarted after using phone cam to take a pic.
So when browsing gallery,a notification kept saying "not an error (code 0) could not open the database in read/write mode"
So I realized that my internal SD became r/o.I mounted back to r/w and the notification went away.
However, everytime I take a picture, the internal SD will be back to r/o! But the strange thing is..I have set pictures taken to be saved to external SD card...
Any solutions?
Thanks!

Have you tried fix permissions in recovery?
Hi,
I will try to fix permissions in twrp recovery and monitor..thx for the input!
Hi,
Looks like trying to fix permissions in recovery did not help to solve this problem.
However, the internal SD reverting to read only seems to be event triggered, like taking a photo..but strangely my settings are to store photos taken into ext SD.I have searched around XDA with almost similar problems on this and saw some posts on using su commands to fix it.However,I am unsure on which command to use..can someone point me to the right one?
Thanks!

What camera app you using? Have you tried changing settings to store photos in internal memory?? Maybe to store photos on ext SD, the app prevents writing to internal SD and doesnt revert back to r/w?

I am using the default stock camera. This happened after I was taking a photo and suddenly the screen flickered and shut down(found out was bloated battery issue).Since then, every time I take a picture, the internal SD will change to r/o.

Maybe something broke when the phone suddenly died in the middle of writing to memory...have you tried reformatting your sdcard since the incident? I suggest you give it a try (after backing up, of course, formatting will wipe EVERYTHING on memory!!)

For what, formatting? Use your custom recovery (CWM, TWRP etc.), that's easiest...
You can first try a factory reset, if that doesn't solve it, go advanced and format/wipe your partitions...then flash a new ROM.
(<---Remember to thank me if this helps! :good

Personally, i would reboot into recovery, hook it up to your pc, mount your sd card, and use some real tools.
