Apart from going back to JS8, is there anyone has a fix for the front facing camera orientation or is there a custom rom that fixes it? I'm getting desperate...
Using Fring video test call, the received video is upside down. Tango and Qik are effected too. I'm getting corrupt video recordings from the FFC using Qik.

I've been looking for an update or kernel but am a bit of a newbie as regards custom roms etc. Is it possible just to apply a camera fix on the stock JVH ? I do have cf-root.
Have not found a fix for this yet. Is it a gingerbread bug or is it just galaxy s owners are having this issue?

+1, I was using Damians's JVH kernel and his CWM fix worked great. Not sure if it will work with CFroot, most likely not.
I have already installed cyanogenmod 7 but the radio doesn't work...I have installed many modems but they don't work.So i want a rom that is stable.fast and the radio works...
Did you already try the GingerReal Rom ?
Try stock or deodexed stock JVQ. From my experience this ROM encompasses the best combination of stability, "buglessness" (does this word even exists?) and speed (after lagfix). No battery drain, no strage bugs which aren't known to the users of a forum.

You don't have to install skins from above thread.
The only problem with deodexed version is laggy browser which isn't too big of a deal. You can always use Dolphin browser or try some of fixes avaliable on forum.
It s only the browser who lag? Nothing else?

I have this problem when i instal different kernel than basic. I can't watch my recorded videos in gallery, but they stops in first second and gallery stops working too.
I still do cache partition, dalwik cache, and than i'm installing kernel
With CM9 and other roms i haven't this problem, but I want this rom without this bug

the break of 720 video is always described in the kernel ... read the description of the kernel carefully
I know that's described in versions with bigger mem., but i didn't know that can happen in normal version.. when i asked in other forum, people had no problems with combo Slim ICS+ Semaphore 1.2.2
Yes this is a kernel "feature". The 720p breaking comes free with all bigmem kernels (i think).
I however am running slim 3.9 with devil2 kernel (Devil2_0.94_i9000_CFS_BLN_CMC_20120524)
720p is no problem....

the problem is in the kernel....change the kernel and take one that support 720 recording....
i tryed semaphore, devil, mnics, and it didn't work..I don't know which one could work good
And record works good, but i can't play recorded video

I dont know if it helps, but on my phone with Devil2_0.94 with default settings, playback was broken too. The video opened but after a second or so whatever video app I used, it would just stop.
As I like this kernel very much I didn't want to change.
In this version, Devil2 kernel comes default with standard RAM (378MB) and somehow this was breaking playback.
As usual I went to xl mem setting (391 MB), now everything is fine!
If you're using Devil2 kernel, read the second post of that thread and you will see how to change that setting.
You can download "Scripter" from market and paste the commands into the app to make things easy.
Read the kernel instructions....you need to instal the "s" version!

I really enjoy BAKED ROM, only problem is that I cannot get Youtube to work. I saw that there was another user in the development section that had this same problem, but I am not able to comment due to low post count. Is anyone using this ROM experiencing the same problem? For those who are using the ROM and Youtube is working, did you do anything different from the Install instructions?
Any help is great, as I really enjoy this ROM.
I am on blackbean-4 and only other change is I am using the Mackay Kernel v0.64.
I will revert the kernel back to stock later and report back with any changes, as i CANNOT recall if I had the same problem with stock kernel or not.

Reinstalled and did not flash Mackay kernel. Fixed the issue.
For me nothing worked until this:
tried to clean data restart and so on, till I uninstalled update and now it works. I think they try to implement something so you can't watch from other country as my phone think I'm from US but I'm in Europe or they made really poor app.

I just flashed a new ROM, the simple asop (I think). Now when I play a video from Netflix, Hulu, or Facebook, I get the sound but no video. I sometimes get the image of the thumbnail, or the channel logo from Hulu, but nothing else. I'm new to android so I'm sure there is something I messed up, I just don't know what it is.
It's a custom ROM issue, try another custom ROM that is more stable.
Videos are known to not be working 100% stable on custom ROMs.
If it was cm12 it is a known problem. To fix disable HWOverlay in developer options.
It's simpleasop is there a known problem with it?

Yes... see the latest pages in the ROM thread, there is a test build with this fixed.
