i´ve noticed today that my "green or call" button is not responsive.
I have to press many times to enter the phone, and also to select a number in contacts and make that call.
Anyone had this problem?
I made a hard reset because it might be some software i installed and the problem is still there
no one are having or had this issue?
Try a soft reset, the touchpad with the buttons often looses it's way.

Yes i did, and also tried another rom beside de original.
I can say, that some times work and sometimes don´t work that well, but even without a reset it starts to work again but with some flaws.
I´m starting to suspect that this is a normal situation on most of the diamonds and no one has ever talked very much about it
I own my diamond for about a month and it only started to do this a week ago, that´s very very strange.

Every now and them my soft touch panel loses it's way.
Here's what I do to reallign it: either press on the bottom right corner twice or soft reset.

Even with a soft reset sometimes the problem continues.
I don´t understand your ideia, so the call button have something to do with the soft touch (whell?) they are connected?
When you say press bottom right corner, you say press the disconnect button? and it solves the irresponsive call button?
Do you know anyone with a diamond having this issue? It seems to me like a hardware problem.
It´s very very anoying and it drives me crazy.
Today the call button is working flawless, so i don´t understand this, send to warranty or not
Does anyone have issues with the keypad?
I think that some people are starting to have problems with it.
ok this is weird..all my keys aren't working at all incl. the volume key except the home key..even the touch-sensitive scrolling doesn't work. Oh and the phone keypad, compact qwerty and full qwerty (if T9 is on) don't work too......!
ok this is weirder..long press end key works...I suppose my problem is software?
okayyyyyyyy even weirder..it's fixed. I uninstalled Cyberon Voice Commander and Remote Desktop Mobile. I have a feeling it's Remote Desktop. However, it was fine when I first installed both programs so I have no idea what triggered the problem......maybe because I left my phone at the post office?!

Hi, I cleaned the screen of my HTC Diamond with a bit of alcohol and a pice of tissue and it seems that the alcohol got inside of the Power button. Now, every time I try to turn the screen on by touching the power button, it turns the screen on but it dispays a message that says: "Warning: Power will be turned off and you may lose data if you have not saved them. Do you want to continue?"
If I click YES, it reboots the phone, If I click NO, then its ok. That is fine, but the problem is when I want to turn the phone off. It's impossible. It will keep trying to reboot.
Does anybody know what can I do? I am really worried.
One solution could be to make some other button from the phone to act as the power button (like the Home button that is rarely used). How can I do that?
Please help!!!!
Thank you
Hi,
I have the same problem.
Did you already find an answer ?
No, I didnt find the solution. I tried to fix the hardware but didnt succeed. So, I created a dummy file to emulate the poweroffwarning.exe that pops up when you long press the power button.
Solution
Hello, I have one AT&T TITL 8925 that upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5
After the new software was loaded I saw same behavior on my phone.
When the phone is ON and I pressed the power button sometimes it do not respond, and others I received the warning message "power will be turned off and you may lose data if you have not saved them..." My first tought was that it is because the processor is slow to this new software release, or maybe my phone is damaged. I was working perfectly with previous (light version) release so my final guess is that this sw requires more uses of the processos.
Anyways what I have been doing is before turing it off I press the red button or hang up button, and after this if I press the power button it works fine (No more warnings). I have some theories but I will keep doing the same
Hope this partial solution helps you as it does for me.
Regards
Jerry
this is not working for me :| the problem is i can't use my power button not even to open my display when it goes to sleep :|:| i don't know what to do guys please help me
You can use the Stylus to awake the phone, instead of using the power button. You can also use TouchLockPro, to suspend the device, so you do not need the power button for that too.
Also you can set the phone to awake on pressing any key (Windows Mobile Setting), but be sure to have a good locking tool, which makes sure you do not have bogus calls and it goes to sleep again fast enough, otherwise it will drain battery.
I have the same problem.
Anyone solved this one?
I have the same issue and this is not a hardware problem. Strange since even updates/changes of the rom do not correct the issue. Did anybody find a solution for this...?
Well.. ive had this problem just ones.. I was walking downtown with my diamond in the frontpocket of my jeans (face down), after about 3min. of walk, it started to rain (big drops), and my clothes got completely wet, i turned around emidietly, to walk back to home. When i got home after 3 more min. i layed the phone on the table, and then i could hear there were somethibg wrong.. The "turn off" sound came, and the notification kept on coming up, even though i pressed No, as if i were just holding the power button down.. Then i began to press the power button continuesly for about a 100 times, and to my surprise then it stopped and have functioned perfectly for about 2 month now.. Something tells me theres some serius promlem with the smallest kind of moisture near the power button on this phone..
Yes this is hardware related.
If you take a look at the inside of the powerbutton, there are 2 points making contact when you press the button.
If you press it, the software will recognize this and the screen will turn off.
If you press it long enough you'll get the "Do you want to turn off your device" message.
But, if water gets underneath the button, the 2 points may be making contact, because water/alcohol conducts.
In this way you'll get that message.
The button is very weak. Due to this, it may not properly work if you have used it for a long time.
I think that could also be a reason why you constantly get that message.

Hi! on one of my diamond, the power button off from the board. So the black little board with the button itself is not part of the complete circuit anymore... if someone know the hw testpoint for that it would great please.... i see a few TP around, but if i just start sorting them i just going to kill it...I use to flash phones with TP so is not new for me , but i find nothing for diamond.
I have a similar issue. Mine seems like it is almost stuck on, so it wakes its self up all the time, meaning a full charge lasts an hour or two. Then when it runs out of battery it tries to switch itself back on, so goes through a continuous cycle of vibrating and beeping until the battery is removed. The gf finds it very annoying at 3am lol.
Don't recall mine getting wet, but it's possible it could have got damp at some point, but it's been doing this now for about 3 weeks.
Tried a hard reset with no luck.

I think I should send it to HTC, and ask them to do it. Or go to a repair centre. But I should not try it myself, because it can be dangerous for the diamond.
Also try searching on ebay, there might be the parts you could use.
Good luck!
is there a way to remap the power button?
my diamond face same problem since this afternoon, arrrrgghhhh!!!

My Sony X1 have some strange problems with the power button. When it goes into sleep mode, I can not wake it up with the power button, all I can do is to soft reset. Sometimes it does not go into sleep mode either , it just "wake up" all the time. I don't know what's wrong with it, tried Hard reset but no use .
ANyone had this problems before?
@
The only way to solve this is to leave the phone near your laptop heat vent ( fan) . hot air from it might help you to get the power button up and running. But if that to doesn't work then i'm afraid thats bad.
Current sol :
1. download SU2U ( search threads )
2. go to the settings and make the " lock when stylus inserted" option ON
3. Change the screen turn off time to 5 secs..
So , to unlock , remove stylus , to lock -> insert it back ( its turns off the back light within 5 sec )
Less annoying

Hi everyone,
My HTC Touch Diamond phone appears to be stuck on the TouchFlo screen. I can use the hard-buttons to move around the screen and do the essentials, but I somehow cannot use the touch-screen at all.
Strange thing however is that while I am in certain screens (ie: Call History), whenever I touch the screen, I can see the OK button in the top-right corner show up and go away whenever I remove my finger from the screen.
I've attempted several soft resets and removed the battery for a few minutes, yet still at no avail. Anyone have a clue what could be wrong? I am desperate and don't want to do a hard-reset and lose all my data and settings.
Looking forward to your suggestions!
nobody any ideas?
My personal thought on it is that you probably just need to recalibrate your screen... but I can not figure out a way to get to that option without using the screen. If there was a start button it would be easy, but since we have a sleek phone it doesn't have one.

It may or may not help but a shortcut to align screen is to hold Enter/Action and press Volume Up.
I only know this because my friend is looking for a way to disable this combo for gaming purposes.
The symptoms sounds like you have installed SensorLock.
When i have it activated i can press the hardbuttons and the upper right corner of the screen.
Try flip your phone and see if it unlocks?
All great suggestions guys! Especially the Enter + VolUp was the one I wouldve wanted to try! In the end, I decided to go to HTC Support and they checked the device. Turned out it was a hardware problem: the connector was loose! After pressing a bit around the lower edge of the screen, the connector worked properly again!
Thanks again for the help guys!
The device powers on. The buttons on the side and button work fine. The animations of the OS are working. I have tried a hard reset, soft reset, and standard power on/off. Does this mean I should try replacing the digitizer? Any ideas that I can get done by the end of the week before I go on vacation.

I think, You need screen calibration
One easy thing to try: Place the palm of your hand on the screen. Hold it there for 10 seconds. See if it works now. Helps if your hands are warm.
I've had the same problem with screen. It helps if you put your palm over the screen but it's only temporary solution. Does anybody know what is the reason for this and what needs to be done/replaced.
Would appreciate any help.
Hi all!
First of all, I'm not sure if I'm doing everything right here, so excuse me if I'm doing something wrong
I'm new.
I've had my HTC One M7 from aliexpress.com for 2 weeks and 2 days now.
Have had great fun of it, nothing seemed wrong, was working perfectly. There were some rumours about an unofficial android-version that was put on this phone, which might be the problem..
Everytime I turn the phone screen on it thinks I hold/doubletap/tap/repeatedly tap the home button, and sometimes when I power it off it thinks I hold the volume down-button and takes a screenshot.. When I finally get to type my 4-digit pin code, it unlocks, goes to home screen, does the same again. Seems like my phone thinks I'm using the buttons..
I've changed settings (in a legit official way via Settings) of my home button to Hold for menu, Hold and swipe up for Google Search, and double-tap for recent apps..
Have tried factory reset twice, have tried rebooting it over and over, have tried almost anything.. I'm at the point of buying a new phone now, because I fear that HTC will not help me because it's an unofficial version of Android.. Any suggestions?
Everytime I open an app it just closes it and goes to home, sometimes before it does that it opens recent apps.. After that it just freezes and I can't touch it. Sometimes after waiting a couple of seconds, I can tap the screen and maybe it's fast enough to open for example WhatsApp, and then it just shuts off and does what I just stated.
Really weird!
I'm quite desperate. Could a custom ROM (Cyanogen or Android lollipop) fix this perhaps?
Please, help

This is purely a hardware issue. Your home button is somehow always in "on" position. Given it's a capacitive button, it could be the digitizer or a scratch on the home button area

Any idea on how to fix this?
This is somewhere about what I mean, read my reply also.
This might even be closer to what I mean.
Should I just send it back to HTC or can I fix this myself, with your heroic help?

Seems like just the thing I wrote. Considering it's a hardware issue you could replace the screen-digitizer assembly by yourself if you are familiar with that kind of work. I tried once on my old Desire and fried the motherboard, so I don't have cojones to do it [emoji6]

Thanks for assisting me. I will bring it to a Chinese or turkish guy around here who will do it for cheap
