Hello everyone,
I just changed provider and they have an automatic configuration wizard but it's not compatible with the xperia x1.
I've googled it but I just can't figure it out.
These are the settings I need to use :
Internet
* APN: web.be
* Username: web
* Pass: web
E-mail
* SMTP: mail.internetmail.be
* SMTP port: 25
MMS
* APN: mms.be
* Username: mms
* Pass: mms
* MMSC URL: http://mmsc.be
* WAP Gateway: 217.72.235.1
* Port: 8080
* Connect via: WAP-netwerk
* Max size: 300K
* WAP version: 2.0
Could anyone point me out where I should enter those fields?
(I'm using R3A rom, if anyone needs to know)
you can't go settings->connections->connection setup to download these settings from your telco?
i know mine can
One, you go to connections and setup a new DATA account with your settings.
Second you go to Messages, MMS Options and put in your settings.
Finally go to messages/email and put in your settings there.
Who needs auto setup when one can manually put all in...its just a matter of 'what' to put in usually but you got that covered!

Hi can anyone help me ?..... I have a 02 xda mini s, but im using a vodafone UK contract chip, I need the mms settings. I belive there is a cab file out there someware, if so could you please tell me were i can download it, or could you please email me it.. thanks for your help in advance Dave......
This worked for me
I set up the MMS settings according to the following and then ran the cab below which made the folder visible in Messaging. Don't know if it would work the other way round or if the cab does anything without doing the settings but, like I say, it worked for me -- if it ain't broke...
Settings/Connections tab/Connections/Tasks tab/Work (or whatever you call the 2nd section):
Add a new modem connection...
Name: Vodafone Live!
modem type: Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access Point Name: wap.vodafone.co.uk
User name: wap
Password: wap
Domain: blank
No extra settings under Advanced
Finish
Proxy Settings tab: Both boxes ticked
Proxy server: blank
Advanced: choose WAP
Server: 212.183.137.12
Port: 9201
User name: wap
Password: wap
Domain: blank
OK
Messaging app/Menu/MMS Configuration/Servers tab/New:
Server name: Vodafone MMS
Gateway: 212.183.137.12
Port number: 9201
Server address: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
Connect via: Vodafone Live!
Sending size limit: 200K (your choice)
WAP version: WAP 1.2
OK
Then run cab to create additional folder under Messaging. Good luck! :wink:
Hi,
My hotmail account will limit the number of emails on the d2 to 50.
Is it really a hard limit impossible to change?
Or is there a regedit settings to be able to change to move this limit up to 100 or 200?
try it as pop3
Try to set up hotmail as pop3 instead of using the standard account that is set up as part of windows live.
The general settings are:
* Incoming Server: pop3.live.com
* Incoming Port: 995
* SSL Encryption: yes
* Outgoing Server: smtp.live.com
* Outgoing port: 25 (use port 587 if the default port is not working)
* Authentication: yes
* TLS Or SSL: yes
Enter a fake email address in the first screen and then uncheck 'Try to get e-mail settings...' so that it lets you enter all settings manually.
I haven't tried it yet
how do we get MMS without the t-mobile g1 data plan?
I dont think its possible. I guess you can get Chomp SMS and pay for it there which could be cheaper but i dont know if it supports MMS...
i cant really help you . but i can say that its worth the 20 or 30 bucks for the internet plan
Agreed with G-Fetus. Plus you can always tell people to e-mail it to your gmail and you can download the attachment from there.
ok this worked for me...
Goto
Menu -> Settings -> Wireless Controls -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names -> T-Mobile US
Make sure you go into T-mobile US and not any other settings.
Change the settings to the following:
Name: T-Mobile US
APN: wap.voicestream.com
proxy: 216.155.165.050
port: 8080
Username: not set (delete everything in this field)
Password: not set (delete all here too)
Server: not set (delete the *)
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.050
MMS Port: 8080
MMC: 310
MNC: 260
APN type: not set
Restart your phone. Now your MMS should work.
*Troubleshooting*
1. If you’re having trouble still, go into mobile networks and enable ‘data roaming’ and ‘use only 2G’
- I've tried this and it seems to be working for me.. this is the only solution i know..

does this still work? i heard t-mobile blocked G1s from using this
it still works on mine..
I tried that on my phone because I am having the same problem. Doesn't work for me. Although I didn't edit the T-Mobile US APN, I made a new one, if that somehow matters.
If anyone has figured out anything on how to get mms messages to work without a data plan please let me know. Everything else on my phone works perfectly.
I figured my new friend [girl] had sent the picture to my gmail instead of text. I'd like this to.
Hi, I have htc pure with dutty r6. I love this phone & rom. But my only problem is i can not send picture messages(but i can receive it) . Now, my phone is unlocked and is on the tmobile network. Could any1 help?! Thanks..

I Just Flashed My Phone With MDA Compact V Software Unlocked It Using My T-Mobile SIM and Seems To Be Working For Me Just Sent Myself a Picture Message.
Hey all,
I picked up an HTC One on SaskTel last week. I noticed that when I work out of town (in range of only one or two cell towers) my reception just sucked. I was seeing some bizzare behaviour where Exchange, Gmail, Play Store and most Google services would refuse to sync - there would be timeouts and "sync is experiencing problems" errors. Other apps like Google Chrome and reddit is fun worked perfectly. Very frustrating.
I started Googling and playing with APN settings. I think I've found a combination that works, although I couldn't tell you why... but now I don't get any problems at all.
Anyway, if you're having problems on SaskTel with any Android smartphone, maybe give these settings a try.
Code:
APN - proxy.stm.sk.ca
Proxy - mig.sasktel.com
Port - 8080
Username - (not set)
Password - (not set)
Server - (not set)
MMSC - http://mms.sasktel.com
MMS proxy - mig.sasktel.com
MMS port - 8080
MMS protocol - WAP 2.0
MMC - 302
MNC - 780
Authentication Type - "PAP or CHAP"
APN Type - * (enter the "*" character in the field)
APM protocol - IPv4
Network mode - GSM / WCDMA / LTE Auto
I'm hoping someone stumbles across this with a search and finds it useful!
Thanks very much for this bit of info.. I've been having the same problem as you and the info provided on sasktels' Facebook page didn't provide me with a resolution.. This is what they had suggested for settings:
"There is a confirmed issue with some HTC devices and the Google Play Store.
This issue can be resolved by creating an APN with the Proxy setting remaining blank.
APN Settings can be found: Settings > Mobile Network > Access Point Names > Menu (top right) > New APN.
Name: Internet2
APN: pda.stm.sk.ca
Proxy: <>
Port: 80
Username: << not set >>
Password: << not set >>
Server: << not set >>
MMSC: mms.sasktel.com
MMS Proxy: mig.sasktel.com
MMS Port: 80
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0 (DO NOT EDIT)
MCC: 302 (DO NOT EDIT)
MNC: 780 (DO NOT EDIT)
Authentication type: not set
APN Type: .
APN enable/disable: checked

I'm really glad this helped you out! To be honest I was not sure if my APN settings fixed my problem, or if it was the unlocking/rooting stuff I was doing. Good to get the confirmation this works.
Holy. I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I was ripping my hair out over this. I found inet.stm.sk.ca to work better than pda. Haven't tried proxy.
Though this issue appears to be fixed on sasktel's end now.
