Cyanogen Wi-Fi Issue

My phone can't connect to my router even though everything is set up correctly and the SSID is on visible. It always says "Not in range. Remembered." ~~
However it can detect my neighbours router ?_? I had this problem on both versions experimental and stable but i can connect normally with any other rom. I really dont want to switch to another rom =/
Here some more infos:
Haykuros "DaNgEr" SPL
Cyanogen recovery 1.4
Cyanogen Rom 4.1.11.1

Running the same rom as you, but not the same spl. Hard spl is installed on mine. No issues what so ever with WiFi. I've never had WiFi issues with Cyanogen's, even with 4.0.4.
Yours is the exception I'd guess, not the rule.
I don't believe the ROM is the source of your problem.

Moved as not development.

As i said it detects Wi-Fi on any other rom also on my original nand backup. ~~
The 3G connection seems weeker too and i constantly get "connection lost please retry" msgs.

FWIW, when I run the same ROM and same SPL as you I don't have any WIFI problems (dlink router). I would try re-installing everything.

Re-Installed everything a couple of times but it still wont work ~~ Guess i have to wait for the next barebone stable lol.

Try MENU... SETTINGS...WIRELESS CONTROLS.......WI-FI SETTINGS....MENU....ADVANCED.....REGULATORY DOMAIN....
Try each setting to see if this helps. I had similar trouble and set to 14 it worked fine.

I had the exact same issue and just tried extending the regulatory domains...wouldn't have thought it would have made a difference or have any effect but it worked and found my router instantly. No idea why my router wasn't showing up in the first place but there ya go!

My wifi connects just fine, but the web only seems to work for Opera Mini, Facebook etc... but it won't work with Dolphin Browser, or downloads in the market place. The default browser works occasionally.
I can browse the marketplace, but when trying to download, it just says "Downloading..." then "Download Paused".
Everything worked on the stock ROM, and everything works fine when I'm using Cellular data. Any thoughts?

[HELP] Sense 2.5 My Location issue

Hello,
Some rom's My Location feature works (sometimes). However the rom that i like most is Dutty's R5 but My Location doesn't work on this rom at all.
I tried some trick and i've read a lot about this issue but couldn't find a solution.
Does anyone have an exact solution for this?

I did not do anything but my location worked today somehow. It updated the location and the weather. Annoying.

I've found that My Location won't work on a 3G connection (Im using the Shadowline 23060x62 rom). If I manually turn the 3G connection OFF then My Location works (mostly).
I bet that the occurance of it working for you today, is because the phone was on a G or E connection when you tried My Location

Which rom you're using?

same weather issue
im running duttys r5 and for the life of me i cant get my location to work with his roms. ive tried that 3g to edge. also tried few other things tips that i read in his rom thread. they have all failed. i have a att pure. tried energy rom and my location works perfect on his rom. its just puzzling.

Dutty's R5 Rom

I'm using Dutty's R5 and My Location works for me, using 3G too. I didnt have to do anything. *shrug*

anybody have any ideas on this? I kinda dont want to reflash to a different rom at this point since everything else seems to work except this my location thing.

check out the "Location" menu in manilla settings tab, may be you have disabled it

no it is enabled, it worked fine right after flashing but then a few days later it stopped and hasnt been able to connect since.

If i disable 3G, my location works fine with E. But no chance with 3G.

yeah I dont get it, it never worked right with Duttys rom but when I put the EnergyROM on there it is working fine albeit with different problems.

same here. energys rom worked just fine but duttys rom wont work. same issue and discussion happening even in the rhodium thread too.

There is a registry entry that will disable and enable the my location feature that is not controled by the Settings Tab. Check the following registry and make sure it is set to 1
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\Weather.EnableCurrentLocation=1

I had the same problem with Dutty's R6, but i fixed the problem by flashing radio 4.49.25.17 and My Location updated immediately after that

Hi,
I'm using the same radio and rom but i still have problems with my location. It only updates when 3G is off. Works perfect with E.

Heres what I found to work:
Add your city to the weather screen
Go to your home screen and click on the alarms button (right above the calender)
Go to the tab to your left(World Clock)
Click your city and exit
Update weather

Free VPN working with Android (Hotspot Shield)?

I tried configurating Hotspot Shield VPN (http://hotspotshield.com/clientless/iphone/get_started.php) that works fine on iPhone but I just can't make it work on Android.
Do you use Hotspot Shield with Android or do you know any other free VPN?

I tried the same but with no luck
Anyone else ??

after 1 hour , my problem solved
i search with this keyword on google "vpn android" and found a site that offer free vpn vpnandroid[dot]com
now my problem solved without spend my money

I got it working with "VPN Connections 0.99" from handheld.softpedia.com
Running CyanogenMod 6.1 on an htc Desire. Works great for Pandora so far.
Thank goodness because the sites listed in this thread so far seem like crapola.

I use hideipipn on android. Works perfectly. The free version.

Anything else workin ? They are no longer offerin a free vpn there

Still no luck using same settings but I get Failed to Connect, over 3G and Wi-Fi, I think it might be a kernel problem or the tun.ko module, I checked my kernel and the module is there...

[FIXED] Android and TP Link TL-WR941N Problem

This problem only exists with Android phone not Windows computers, Nokia Express music phone...
I can't download huge files more or less 10MB because the internet virtually disconnects even the wifi connection is still okay on this TL-WR941N and also happens on some android devices like Xperia Ray.
On MOST routers, my Xperia X8 (MiniCM7 2.1.1, nAa-13), it has a decent connection with less failure of cutting my downloads than our router.
So I'm suspecting the 'AUTO' settings of this TL-WR941N which could be the reason why my phone disconnects when I'm downloading using BROWSERS (Downloading) and OSU!DROID (Downloadind beatmaps) while in GOOGLE PLAY, it doesn't...
If you do KNOW why, please RECOMMEND me the best settings and also I want to keep the BGN mixed because my Xperia X8 and other X8 (Stock ROM) does connects with N standard but speed like B standard... even with the N standard mod... useless mod...
In short, it IS connected to Wifi but there IS NO internet connection after it cuts my download (It only happens on our router)...
I need some advise...
PS: Happens on MiniCM7, MiniCM9, PrimeHD. On stock ROM, it has good connection though... I don't personally like GDX due to personal problem of the ROM, sorry about that... I don't want to return to 2.1...

Tried PPPoE, I lost all internet connection... Is it in Static IP?

Pppoe is my internet connection.Take a look. Do update the firmware. If you compare the first image, you'll see the firmware is very old at you.

Thank you very much! I didn't know the firmware was outdated... Actually, I tried to see if it's updated, but still don't know about routers...
Somehow, it can now download smoothly... Some apps with the same problem is also fixed... Problem is now FIXED.

Can't get WiFi tether to work

Hi,
I can't get WiFi tethering to work on my device, even though the ROM specifications imply that it is compatible and tested to work.
Basically, the problem is that when I activate the WiFi tether, the process goes smoothly and it becomes active, but none of my devices can see the SSID of my X8. I tried to scan for it both with my laptop and the Xperia Arc S device, and wasn't able to find it, albeit my laptop on one occasion actually managed to see it and connect to it successfully. When I tried the next time, the X8 wasn't there anymore.
I tried both the Wireless tether for root users app, and Barnacle wifi tether. Both have the same issue. I've also tried rotating through the channels and adding encryptions.
ROM is FroyoPro v2.5 and kernel is stock. I've read somewhere that stock kernel doesn't support WiFi tethering, but keep in mind the creator of the ROM tested it on stock kernel successfully, and I actually managed to connect to the device on a single occasion. Something else must be the issue.
Anyone else with the same problem? And possibly a fix?
EDIT: I've read that most phones can't connect to your WiFi tether because it's ad hoc mode. Is that the case here? And if it is, is it possible to make our X8 broadcast in infrastructure mode?
Had a few more successful connections to the laptop. No luck so far on Xperia Arc S.

As far as I can see, an app called WiFi tether is the only one capable to set up an infrastructure mode, but your ROM and kernel must support it. Also, most phones support searching for infrastructure networks and don't support ad hoc at all. I can't unlock my bootloader so I can't investigate this any further.
For now, Barnacle wireless tether is the only one that works for me, probably because it supposedly loads its own drivers, and I can connect to my X8 only from a computer.
I'm really getting annoyed with the stock kernel. One day I'm going to get drunk somewhere, and when I come home I'm going to attempt to unlock it. I swear (11w41)

I did try that, and it doesn't work even though the fix for tethering is installed in v2.5. Also, another thing that is annoying with it is that I have to reboot after each use, or else normal wifi wouldn't work. Barnacle is the only thing that works at the moment.

I've tried much more rom like JB and ICS, but nothing to do.......
At the start, it works well, very fast, but after 5 minutes the display goes black, the network is disconnected and no longer works.
