I have been trying to build a rom using virtual kitchen, but eventhough the rom compiles and flashes without a hinch, then the phone will not go past the SE logo.
Does there exist an emulator which I can run the rom on which will give me the errorcode whats wrong with my rom?

Edoka, you can find that information in the rooting guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480
Which should be found there... be very careful and make sure the radio you want to update/flash are the correct ones you need.

What rom were you on and which one are you trying to flash?
Most likely you just need a complete wipe (phone and ext partition).
still nothing i tried to install one call sensehero theme
grrrrrrr gonna do more research

Did you wipe before installing the rom?
Make sure you have "Haykuro SPL" and not the "Hard SPL"
Not sure but I think you also need to have a swap partition for anything Hero/Sense.
Did you install a ROM or just a theme? I ask because you called it "sensehero theme".
Hi,
I'm getting this issue that other people seem to have got, everyone else seems to just flash an updated WM rom to fix it, but it isnt working. This occurs after the install completes and i reboot.
Rebooting in 3 seconds..

I have tried RUU_PPST_Vogue_SPRINT_WWE_3.03.651.4_2_Radio_3.42. 30_AM_NV_2.04_Ship.exe as well as RUU_Vogue_4350_TELUS_WWE_3.07.661.1_Radio_4350H_3. 41.00_Ship_withPPSTPatch1.20.exe, ive tried flashing just the Bell 3.42.50 radio and i've tried NFSFAN's WM6.5 1.00 FINAL ROM.
All have the same result. with this error
Any ideas?
Are you using haret to boot android? Try the zimage here
Apologies for ignorance, but how do i load this zimage?
The zip file in that link has a .nbh if you just want to install android over the top of WM6, the zimage is for another method that lets you reboot into android leaving WM6 still installed on the phone's internal flash memory. I've never used that method so I won't try and explain it.
Download atools and read the help...
Flashed the NBH and it fixed it, thanks
Hi. I tell my problem, i have w8 and i had setup clockwork mod, xrecovery, gingerbread xd rom and cyanogenmod 7. after i saw that cyanogen mod 7.1 released, and i tried to install it. First i put zip archive to my sd card, after i tried to load it from clockwork mod, but it gave me "error 7", after i searched a lot, and i found i need to change the updater-script in order to do install new cyanogen version. after i changed my clockwork mod version to the latest. then i did all, and i had setup all correctly. but after, my phone did nothing more than just showing splash screen. it does not show even clockwork mod screen nor gingerbread dx screen. so what do i need to do? i can't use my phone for 3 days. and i couldn't find any solution on the internet.
ok i did it. i am using sony sonyericsson pc companion software to go back original firmware now.
hey.. w8 has android 2.1 so if you are trying to install any rom of android 2.3 you first need to install android 2.2!!! so go step by step....
android 2.1 (stock rom)--->install any rom of android 2.2 ---->now try android 2.3!!!
hope u understand!!! cheers
As far as I can tell, to install any ROM with the .35 kernel, I need to install Andro-id V3.3 RC3 first (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).
I can't seem to manage to do this. I've installed customed roms for this phone before, and before that I installed the update from Wellcom using the stock recovery.
But when I try to install SUT LR 1.8.2 on my computer, it will not install. Either on Windows 7 or Windows 8 (separate partitions)- I get the message "Module C:\Program Files\SUT LR\T appCmdSvr.dll failed to register. HResult-2147010895. Contact your support personnel." I've downloaded the installer a couple of times, and it makes no difference.
Since someone said (in the Andro-id V3.3 RC3 thread) you could rename the .nb0 file to "firmware.nb0" and install with the stock recovery, I put the stock recovery back onto my phone (replacing cwm), and tried this way. But when I do that, I get an error message that the file may be corrupted or something to that effect, and it will not allow me to install it. Again, I've downloaded the Andro-id file several times, so I don't think it's really a corrupted download causing the problem.
Does anyone have an ideas for either of these problems, or whether there is another way for me to get onto the .35 kernel?
OK you can try to register the dll manually by typing
regsvr32 nameofthedll.dll
see more details here at http://geekdrop.com/content/how-to-use-regsvr32-to-register-or-unregister-files-dll-ocx-etc. May be you need to run the installer as administrator.
Or simply go to a winxp machine. You can try to replace the stock recovery with sharp stock recovery here https://www.dropbox.com/s/hdmx6tftmahomu7/Sharp_recovery.img(You'll need to rename it to recovery.img). But this may not work, i have not tried it.
I tried the Sharp recovery image, but it doesn't seem to work.
So far, I've completely failed to get the dll to register manually. I'll need to find another machine somewhere to try to install SUT and try to make it work. [ok, found an XP machine to use, and am happily on to the .35 kernel]
Same
Even I am facing the same issue !!!!
I know using a machine with XP is an option but is there any way around I could use SUT LR on win 7 &/or win 8 ?????

Im Using win7 x64 with SUTLR 1.82, no problem at all for using it, i do many times flashing withaout any error occure ....
From what I searched this thread and others, I believe this is not possible, because a CRC check in bootloader or kernel I think.
Now that sources are out, couldn't we flash RECOVERY + Kernel (maybe downgrade bootloader) at the same time and avoid the bootloop?
This is not my current phone anymore so I'm not really up to date to the new developments, but, there is nooby's repack, that allows CWM, couldn't that mod somehow be applied directly to 30B (or any ICS version) trough adb or something?
Alternate solution: ?
Going to recovery atm resets the phone to factory settings, as that is the way the default recovery acts, and actually I don't need a working recovery, a way to block the phone to reset itself is also acceptable!
Flash Image Gui
I think my question was not understood properly, so I'll try to reformulate it:
Flash Image Gui is a program that allows kernel images to be flashed on HTC one S directly from Android. If the cip inside our Black is somehow compatible, we could hack the program to flash a recovery friendly kernel.
Now, is that possible?

Problem is nothing to do with kernel. Possible reason for it not working :
Bootargs incompatible
Bootloader locked
CRC bootarg forbids running custom kernel/recovery.
I'm leaning towards the 3rd one, but either way it won't work.
It's not so hard making a program like that for our phone. You just need a program that extracts the boot.img replaces the new zImage and packs the boot.img again and flash it to device. You can make a script that does that from your phone.
