Original Uk Firmware needed - XPERIA X1 ROM Development

Hi Guys
Ive had a hdd failure on my home computer and i have lost the original firmware that was on my phone and now my phone has got a problem with the ribbon cable and also has cracks so it needs to be sent back to se for repair.
my phone now has latest original firmware installed on it but also has hard spl (phone previously had v lite 6.5)
can i change back to normal spl with the current firmware?
or do i need to go back to what the phone originally had?
original firmware was generic uk R1AA017
Thanks for the help guys!

Yes, see hard-spl thread on how to change back to stock spl. For the firmware, it doesn't matter what version it is. You just have to put an official firmware on your phone and it's fine

thanks thats all i needed to know

Or just flash the official R3 Instead
SE should accept your phone back with their proper stock ROM on it...
You should be able to flash the R3 SE ROM release as this updates the bootloader to a newer stock version. Get it from here:

Don't forget to restore original spl after that

The R3 official release that I added the link for includes R3 firmware (Generic UK R3AA010), an updated stock SPL and newer radio firmware... so you shouldn't need to restore the original SPL afterwards (otherwise SE will think something fishy is going on!)

Can i reistall old i-mate rom after 6.1 ?!

Hello
Thank for all of you guys, I've converted to windows mobile 6.1 on k-jam.
I have downloaded i-mate offecial rom from i-mate site ... can i reinstall it ?? will I re-unlock CID on my device ?
Thankssssssss very much
Reverting back to official rom all depends on the DOC Chip version of the phone. If its a G3,there's no problem, yes! you can easily flash back to Official stock rom anytime you want, just hook up the phone with pc and run the RUU in the rom to start flashing.
Butmif its a G4,and you upgraded through 'SoftSPL',still there's no further procedure to reflash official rom, just hook up and run the Rom,coz,SoftSPL doesn't replace original official IPL/SPL of the phone.
Well,if you upgraded your G4 device through 'HardSPL',than, first you'll have to remove HardSPL,flash back to original official IPL/SPL,which were there at the time of applying HardSPL and only then its possible to revert back to official rom,Coz,HardSPL replaces the official IPL/SPL with patched IPL/SPL and if flashed the official rom, which has official IPL/SPL,will Brick the phone.
G3 device once CID unlocked will remain unlocked for all times, whether you revert back to official rom or not,Putting official rom again will not apply CID lock again.

Please advice !!!

My brother bought for me X1 from Leipzig Germany its factory unlocked and has no branding. But it has windows in German.
My question is can I flash english rom vithout any spl unlocking?
and if yes please give me link which english wwe rom can flashed to my device.
I have experience with Elfin and Elfin was bought from china has chinese wm so I used wwe elfin rom and directly without unlocking it flashed.
So is there any chance that I can have englisj X1 rom original not cooked that can drieclty flash to my device?
You will need to flash HardSPL for X1 first (it's sticky on this forum), then you can flash UK rom. Remember that German version of X1 have qwertz keyboard, so if you will flash UK rom then some keys will have another function then they show.
But after that hardspl when I will change to UK can I go directly SEUS to recoknized my phone as UK phone and update via website? So if somebody have experience flashed German rom to UK generic and after that tested SEUS service please share here the results.
Can somebody give me link for UK Generic non customized rom I found on forum but it says at then begingn of link Customized UK I need original genereic UK rom please help me to find also if you tell me how to dump my rom I can dume German Generic rom for share with forum
When you've done HARDSPL you can use the SE update service

One more question I have conected with SPL things.
I have experience workign with HTC TOUCH XL USPL tool and flashed lot of roms with that tool but in HTC any time you need to flash another rom you should use USPL tool and then at some stage start RUU and flash your rom.
also if you stack in bootloader or in other stage you can always recover your phone using RUU and your device default rom.
Is this possible in X1?
Lets say I have German Genereic rom deivce I want to flash to UK rom direclty without any SPL tools and stucked in some stage with error. Can I use Kovski RUU and German Genereic rom (which is the my device's defalut rom) and recover from that stage?
Thanks in advance

You should be able to yes, obviously make sure you've done hardspl before going to the UK rom.
The SEUS uses RUU to flash the rom.
If you have your own rom (such as stock german one) then it's much much easier to flash from the SD card. Jack did a decent walkthrough of that.. but just rename the file to KOVSimg.nbh and go into bootloader (volume down and reset at the same time).
is USPL available for the X1?? or its just the HD?
USPL is not available for Xperia... would be cool if it is made available at some point, though I've already flashed HardSPL!

sony update service: no update available

i'd like to restore to a valid update from the sony update service.. so i restore my stockspl successfully , loaded update service however it says there is no update for my device.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482

got it.
renamed to ruu_signed.nbh and added romupdateutility.exe.
first time it failed for some reason at 10%
tried again with success
u update your phone while using stock spl?
i installed STOCKSPL 0.72
on the colored screen it says:
KOVS110
SPL-0.79.0000
MICROP1-707
MICROP2-707
updateservice says i am at the latest, R3AA010
is this the latest?
is there a ROM with arabic localization?
because when i bought the x1 i remember it had a button that said "iTouch"... i backed up that rom but damn it doesnt work. the backup i made DOES restore just fine but it doesnt go back to the way the phone was when i bought it.

Flashing Back to Stock ROM

can anyone give me a step by step on how to flash my ROM back to STOCK?
if you want it for warranty reasons then you will need to flash the SPL also to stock. you can just download the latest ROM from HTC website and flash it. it will give you the stock ROM on the existing SPL.
End of the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2710548&postcount=1.
Remember you will also need to go back to stock spl if for warranty purposes.
i have another problem, when in bootloader it wont change from serial to usb but was a week ago

I've kinda got thesame question. I flashed a stock rom (latest EU rom from HTC site), then stock SPL (1.14) and then the stock rom again. Is this enough to be able to claim warranty without HTC finding out about custom roms/boatloaders?
Thanks

That depends. What was your original rom and spl? Are you entitled (via location) to use the new EU rom, eg if you live in America then this may not be acceptable to HTC.
When you boot up the new rom, are the screen colours ok as this will tell you if you have the right spl for your rom? If you have the latest EU rom, I doubt that 1.14 spl would be the right one, but it could be I guess. With the stock rom, you should also get the stock radio. So provided you have the stock rom available to your area, with the correct matching spl and the radio, there is no way to tell of your exploits
Thanks for your reply
The problem is that the screen of my device won't turn on anymore (Device powers on, I can connect with activesync, digitizer works fine) so i have no way of checking if I have the right SPL or not...
I also have no idea what my stock rom/spl/radio version was.. I live in the Netherlands, and through the official HTC site i flashed the latest rom, which included a radio (a radio version was part of the filename). What I'm trying to find out is:
Could 1.14 have been my stock SPL, or was that version never used on any Dutch Blackstone?
If the spl doesn't match the rom (wrong colours) that isn't much of a problem; I can tell them I tried to update my rom because I thought maybe my screen would work again after I installed the latest ROM... But if I have a SPL that was never even used I don't think they will buy that
According to the wiki there are 2 Dutch roms - one would require a 1.14.0000 spl and the other a 1.54.0000 spl. So I guess either of those would do.
When you flashed the rom from the website, where you still using hspl or uspl? Depending on the rom you flashed you will need to flash the matching spl. Do you have the full notation/naming of the rom you flashed. This should give an indication of which spl you will need.
As much as I appreciate ClydeB1 for assisting you, I fail to see a reason for this thread. A thread already exists for flashing advice, i.e. the dummies guide. Also the HardSPL thread exists and has advice on how to flash back to stock. So depending on your query post in either of these.
The initial query and reason this thread was created has been answered, so no need for this thread to remain open. Thread closed

Flashing official ROM: need to revert SPL, radio to original?

A few questions:
my diamond (mda compact iv) is hard resetting everytime i soft reset after installing the gen.y r5.5 sense 2.1 rom. i have hardspl 1.4.
i've spent all day today ****ing around with the phone. i think my next step is to try flashing an official phone, hard reset, then reflash a different rom, then hard reset again.
1: since it was originally a t-mobile branded mda compact iv, do i need to find the original t-mobile rom or can i just flash any official htc 6.1 rom?
2: do i need return all the spl, radio to the original as well before i flash to an official rom?
thanks.
Hi, since you have hard spl, you can flash any official diamond rom. You don't need to revert spl, or to change the radio. If the official rom has radio inside it will be flashed.

Hi and welcome to xda , what is the os on your pc. From what I remember the hotsync drivers were installed automatically. Try to download the rom again, maybe the RUU was toasted.
