Oi.
Anyone have the actual manufacturer model/part number for the screen the Xperia X1 uses? I'm not talking its Xperia-replacement-part number... Most such parts have an original model num... Though being sony who knows.
If you are wondering XD I have been in the crazy quest to find the highest res 3in screen I can without paying an arm and two legs... with a standard controller on it. The latter part being the insanely difficult part.
Crazy... Crazy questions... ^.^'...
oi....... yerself
you think if you replace the screen of the pda with one which have a higher native resolution it will just change the pda to run at a higher resolution?

My last cell phone (touch pro2) has a great combination of color (Live & Warm) (maybe because of it's great lcd) which everyone who see the phone for the first time just appriciate the great Lcd that the phone have, BUT for nexus one it's completely difference, it's too far away from Pro2 LCD, if u consider this two lcd in the papers u are going to compare Amoled (nexus) with TFT (Pro2) & 16m color (nexus) with 65k (pro2), is this two comparable in the papers ? ofcourse no, LCD of Nexus one is far far better than Pro2 BUT IN REALATY i just see the opposite..!
Is there a way to change color to be more live and warm ??
AND For Nexus one's Speakers, it has very very good quality but very very low volume, how can i increase the volume ???
Thank u.
Yes, see CM settings in the settings window.
Maybe you can post screen shots or pictures of this. I'm very interested. Haaha

what's is CM setting, i couldn't find it in my setting...
You must not have a cyanogen based rom then. Look in the dev section, I think there is a standalone in there.
Hi
i wonder if there is a ROM for the G1 that is ported/based on the Sony Ericson Xperia X0 mini Pro?
Maybe it is hard to do because of the different Screen sizes but i recently red about a Root-App that makes it possible to "imitate" higher or lower screen resolutions so maybe if there is no ROM yet someone could find that helpful to create one.

Yes the problem is the ROM contains graphics for QVGA, which will look all funky when upscaled.
I believe setting a higher DPI just makes text smaller and makes graphics smaller on-screen, the problem is to port QVGA to HVGA you'd need to do the opposite.
and what about a timescape port? in a dump i saw it was an apk but couldnt install it
I'd assume it's tied in to SE's framework, besides, the graphics would be all botched up anyway.
and if one used the normal (big screen) xperia x10?
Hello!
I today recieved my fresh sgs and was playing around with it..i am really enjoying the contrast of its amazing screen..but then i put it right next to my slcd desire and what i realised hit me like a shovel..
The resolution on SGS is MUCH..and i mean much much lower than on the desire..both have 480x800 pixel res , and yea i know sgs has 0.3 inches larger screen, but the difference shouldnt be anywhere near that...
Is my phone faulty somehow?
The resolution is the same on those to phones, but the screen on SGS is larger so naturally the pixels will be larger. Also you are comparing SLCD to SAMOLED and they are very different technically, and as you mention this screen has crazy contrast and that will also make it easier to see individual pixels.

i have both also and i was just checking the 2 with full brightness and after pressing app drawer to compare (as i hav some same apps on both) i could see the edges of the apps on the sgs were kind of rigid and on the desire they were straight
dont know if that helps you
regards

Read this post http://goo.gl/VlJxv . I kinda should have read more about the SGS before buying it. Now I am kinda disappointed with this and other things
Oh then i was right....because i kow for a fact that n1/desires with amoled do not have 480x800 effective resolution....
well this blows....
yeah ... and you dont see this at the shop while playing with the phone. No chance you notice this. I mean I WOULD never even think that this will look like crap . I mean SUPER AMOLED and how good it is you hear from everywhere ... And then the screen with its burn ins and ****ty resolution is one of the worst...
Btw I installed a cute small bold font comfortaabold from a thread here (Search for flipfonts) and it helps with the readability a little but for pics dunno, there I dont have with the res a problem.
I think im gonna give it a few more days more for a fair trial and if im still unhappy i will have to let it go :/

If you can, LET IT GO! It wont get better, only worse, if you can see now the differences, you will later on see the burn in too. Search a thread about this here too.

when i enter the RAZR i forum i see the phones resolution:
4.30" - 540x960
REALLY?! such a low resolution on such a big screen?!
Is there a way to change that?

There are actually very few 4.3"phones with 720p displays. So for this size screen it's actually a fairly typical resolution.
Change it by getting a different phone.

i guess this is the most senseless answer but ok
Senseless, but also pointless

Sincerely, having owned the galaxy nexus and galaxy s3 (much too large for my use), I do not see big differences in display quality ... maybe it's my eyes ...
It really has the ideal size this device, as the Lumia 800, but with a 4.3 "screen ... :good:
Remember, this is a mid-range device as well. Mid range devices at this price point rarely have higher res screens. If ever.

I dont have updates ybout this but if it is possible to connect to a tv via hdmi, how would this resolution appear? xD

Your logic is strange. If its running through HDMI why would the phones screen matter?
It would be running at the TVs resolution.

doesnt it still show to phones screen?
so it cant have annother ratio and such than the device has itself right?
never had a phone which was capable of hdmi output so i am just guessing...
Because of Google's takeover, Motorola was made to strip out all of its own software - and I'm told this is also the reason there's no HDMI/MHL socket. We're quite lucky that there's a memory card slot, although you can't copy apps (and app data) on to a memory card - so for some people that have loads of apps or use Spotify with offline music, it will be like the memory card doesn't exist.
I am not that upset, as I didn't really care for any of the Motorola apps/bloatware and quite like the fact that, bar the Motorola launcher, it's virtually like having a Motorola Nexus.
I actually don't connect my phones to a TV that often anyway. I've got tablets that can do that if I want (and I rarely do, despite always thinking I might). For watching photos and video on my (Smart) TV I use Wi-Fi, which is more convenient - and works just fine with the Razr i.
As for the screen resolution; having come from a Sony Xperia S with a 4.3-inch HD display (342PPI?), I was expecting to be unable to live with the screen on the Razr i - but that hasn't happened either. I am not sure what the PPI is now, but it's still high enough that I can't really make out the pixels - and even the PenTile matrix isn't an issue unless I get really close up. One exception is when you have thin(ish) text in colours like red, which can be a bit hard to read.
Anyway, 960x540 isn't a terrible resolution at all. 1280x720 would be nice, but I've come to learn that it isn't essential and I really am not sure why the industry is going to be rushing to do 1920x1080 next year on screens of only 5-inches or so. That will be a stupid pixels-per-inch density and you're now going beyond what the eye can make out anyway. First megapixels, then MHz and cores, and now PPI/DPI. Madness!
Razr i is 256DPI. It's not bad at all.
Not so far a GS3 which as 305DPI.. but cost lot much money
And qHD as the avantage to be Quarter the size of HD resolution, It fits great for diplaying HD content.

Well the galaxy s3 when connected switches to 1080p resolution. To fit the t.v.
Doesn't matter anyway since it has no HDMI.
And when Google took over Motorola they made someone else CEO but its still independent of Google a separate company.

Hi all. I have Nokia lumia 625, and blurry screen really annoys me because of low PPI.
Is there any way to change PPI on Windows Phones, like on androids?
Thnx
Leaving aside the fact that you won't make the screen *less* blurry by going to a non-native resolution (which is what you're asking to do), the simple answer is no. If you wanted a high-quality screen, you shouldn't have gotten a phone with a huge display and a low resolution... simulating a higher resolution will just make the screen elements harder to see, since stuff that should be one pixel wide will new either vanish or will be lightly blurred into adjacent pixels.

What is wrong with his answer? He just says "no" and gives a detailed technical explanation why it wouldn't have solved your problem anyways.
