Hi,
i didn't work!
All my LCDs are now damaged!
Please gimme me a good advise this time!
Best regards
Colbad
from brief searching about replacing the screen, it was thought that it is easier to buy the LCD and the digitizer ready assembled then you don't have to unstick the 2 parts or solder any cables
squandering
I use this option too.
But sometimes just the touchscreen is damaged and it would
be a squandering to trash the working Lcd.
Please gimme useful advises
Thanks!

hi, i have my phone opened, and i dont know how to replace digitizer on my LCD screen which i take from phone
Please Urgently.. Thx. Mike
P.S. Must i open LCD scr.?
I'd advise replacing the whole screen as digitizer is glued to screen, there is guides to how to replace the screen which can be found via search one of them is very easy as just remove the four screws from behind the screen.
Good luck
If your only replacing the digitizer, which isn't easy I have done a few.
You will need to carefully remove old digitizer, I heat up the digitizer where it's glued and remove it, it will come off in pieces (glass).
then clean residue glue off lcd frame.
then glue the new digitzer.
last part is soldering the connector on the digitzer to the connector on the lcd it's not easy, it can be done with solder iron but I use a rework station makes it 100 times easier.
good luck
now it isnt urgently.. on night i closed phone.. but it is strange.. my slide effect is strange.. whn i put phone on table, so UP part (LCD,action buttons) is little moved right than DOWN part.. for ex. i think this slide after closing has opposite direction !BUT ONLY LITTLE (1mm)!
thanks for advice..
and i think this thread can could be good tread for everyone who dont know what to do with LCD. As me
I would also advise to replace the entire screen. They are easily sourced from a well known auction site and most will supply the opening tools and a screen protector.
A simple web search will find the service manual to open your pda. There are tuts for replacing the screen by removing the 4 screws behind the screen and pulling the housing apart to slide the screen out. Bewarned that if you are too forceful you will damage the mic and other parts that are still screwed to the board.
I bought two Xda stellars some time back. Both needed a lil TLC. One a scratched screen the other the housing was badly scuffed. Having repaired a few PDAs, I thought I would ask an independant store to see what they would charge (labour only as i would supply parts). He quoted £20 for each phone, have a look at the service manual see the steps to take it apart and reassemble ask yourself for the sake of £20 is it worth the aggro.
Good luck with your replacement, I hope this helps and any others who encounter similar issues.
is it possible to use a raphael lcd replacement and install it on the kaiser? thus allowing a higher dpi?

Simple answer, No !
ok, on kaiser i can use only kaiser LCD? (no vogue,no tytn 1.....)
Correct, the Kaiser motherboard is ONLY compatible with the type of screen it originally came with.
I heard the t-mobile wing digitizer would work on the tilt.
I have not try it, maybe on next one needs new digitizer.
My son has just broke the screen on his tytn2, reading through there seems to be the screen itself and the digitiser behind, if I order both of these, are they a simple fit, someone referred to soldering, I do not want to go down that route................
Just found how to video on you tube, looks fiddly, but I will give it a go.
Hi Guys
Just found this site and some really helpful stuff here.
Reason I was searching is my HTC Legends touch screen got cracked a few days back and I've been searching for a guide on how to replace it, can anyone help????
The LCD seems fine behind, and the digitizer even still works, just a bit shattered...
Absolutley love the phone, but can't use it at the minute
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Very sad story ...
To start...
New digitizer

Thanks for the ebay link, cheaper than I'd found.
The guide takes me so far, but has anyone removed the digitizer? Is it glued, or screwed in place?

The links you're posting... That's only the clear glass facing, not the LCD, right?

no that the touch screen only as LCD works perfect but touch not working
Do you know how to replace it by yourself?
The digitizer you posted is actually the touch screen you need.
The adhesive is the glue that attaches this screen to the mobile, you can use double sided tape instead.
I see that both prices are close, 16$ - 20$, so just pick any..
You can find some videos on youtube on how to replace it.
Good luck
Hi,
the screen on my Moto G 2014 is cracked and I want to replace it. Since the phone still works fine I want to replace the glass only. Is this doable? I have not found any tutorials or information about this, and I hear it is difficult to do since the Moto G does not have an AMOLED screen so the backlight will be problematic.
I realize xda-dev is mostly focussed on software but maybe someone can help me or point me to a place where this question would be on-topic.
Cheers,
Luke
It's very difficult, need to heat the glass and a very thin and strong wire to separete LCD/digitizer from glass.
Then you need UV glue to reassembly new glass and LCD/digitizer.
If you are going to do it by yourself my recommendations buy a LCD/digitizer/glass assembly.
If you want to take the risk of breaking LCD/digitizer then watch all YouTube and read all the guide's you could read
Hi,
thanks for the reply! I already bought a new glass, if I break the LCD and digitizer I can still buy a whole new assembly (not really cost-effective though, I bought the phone itself on sale for 140 euros...).
There are no tutorials for the Moto G. Maybe you could skim this video (for Moto X) and tell me if following this procedure should work for me?

It's the same procedure, it should be the same just be carefull to slide the wire just under the screen, digitizer is very thin if you slide the wire under the digitizer it will break, an be patience if you think its hard to disassembly apply more heat.
Always get back to the thread with result I'll be happy to hear it worked.
Very late reply here, sorry about that...
I shattered the LCD while trying to pull it out and ended up replacing the whole digitizer/screen/backlight unit.
Judging from my experience with this, I think a glass-only repair is viable, but it has to be done very carefully to not put any bending force on the LCD. The double-sided tape holding the display unit to the frame are extremely strong. It should only be attempted if you have professional tools (such as a *good* hot air rework tool) and know what you're doing.
Hey guys, I Have a problem with my touch screen. It started out with one dead strip on the screen. After a few months it lead to another and now it has a third dead strip on my phone. The third one comes and goes though. This makes it so difficult for me to use the phone and I have decided to replace the touch screen. Now when I did my research there are two things. The digitizer itself and LCD screen with the digitizer. I do not know which one do I opt for and what will work for what. If you guys can tell me what I need to do that would be great. I am going to be fixing it myself as taking an out of warranty phone for servicing will cost too much.
Please guide me through a way that I can fix this as easily as I can.
Thank you very much.

Better to buy to whole assembly (LCD + Digitizer). Will be much easier to replace: You won't have to separate the broken digitzer from your LCD which is a hard to do without damaging anything and you will not have to glue your new digitizer to the LCD yourself which can also be hard to do perfectly. If not perfect, you'll see bubbles in your screen.

If I replace the screen. Will my touch work perfectly fine? with no dead zones? I wanna be 100% sure before I pull the trigger.
