I received as present this mobile phone ..originali found..Somebody lost it
It's SIM locked, on german and locked to O2 provider.
I found on forum how to unlock to other providers and how to change language, but all starts with ActiveSync connection and I can make it because phone is sim-locked.
Any help?
You should better bring it to the police. If the owner reports it as stolen they can track you down using the IMEI number.

Hello everyone,
I am new on this forum.
I have a problem with my HTC TyTN II. I cannot use it. After power on I'm getting message "Telefon zabroniony" (in polish). Translating in english it's "mobile phone prohibited" or "device prohibited". Mobile phone was not stolen, it was bought legally. I don't know how it was locked.
Could you tell me how to unlock my Kaiser to using it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
That message would only appear if the device had been reported stolen, so I suggest you take it back to wherever you bought it. It cannot be unblocked.
I'm sure it was not stolen, I checked it personally on the Police after I bought it. So how to solve a problem prohibited mobile phone? Any ideas? How do you thing, www.imei-check.co.uk should help?
There is no solution, whatever the Police say, if it's blocked it's blocked. The mobile network has it flagged as stolen. Unless you can convince them it's not, there's nothing you can do.
The block works by blocking the IMEI of the phone. Changing the IMEI of any phone, for any reason, is illegal in most countries. It's also frowned on by most people in forums like these, because for all any of us know, you stole that phone from one of us - harsh but true.
If you genuinely bought the phone in good faith, take it up with the seller.
could not be blocked
maybe his rough translation is deifferent and could be that the phone is simlocked? if it was stolen then you dont get that message - you either have no signal or full signal but cant place/recieve calls.
i checked my htc dimaond's imei from its back. And checked it on device information. in device information it has extra 2 digits "01"
example:
imei(15char)01
can i change it to original
imei(15char)
because it may have problems with my service provider. As imei should be a confirmed imei number to be used.
And one more thing can i change the imei to whatever i want. if yes how?
Than you very much.
I think it doesn't make any difference.
There's a risk of breaking your device if you try to change the IMEI.

Those two extra digits will not cause you any problems, no need to worry. Anyway, why would one need to change the IMEI of a phone??? The only uses I know are not so nice.
Actually this is a valid question.
I'm in Ankara at the moment and my UK o2 Diamond won't work out here. Been doing a bit of research and apparently the turkish government likes to restrict phone users to THEIR phones only. All foreign phones won't work on turkish networks afaik. The only way i can see to get around this is to pick up a turkish pre-pay phone and switch it's imei into my diamond.
Any ideas on how i could go about getting my phone to work out here? I'm stuck in this country for the next 6 months and the last thing i want to do is have to try and input all my data into a crappy turkish phone for no reason.
I really doubt there is IMEI check.
"Because the recent changes in the Turkish Telecommunications regulation requires all mobile phones to be registered with the Turkish Telecommunications Authority’s database with their IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) numbers in order to use Turkish sim card. Mobile phones (IMEI numbers) not registered with the Turkish Telecommunications Authority are blocked for connection through a Turkish sim card.
According to the Turkish customs regulation, from 1st February 2008, travellers can bring only one mobile handset into Turkey in two calendar years as one of their personal belongings, free of customs duties and they do not need to declare it to the Turkish Customs.
In order to get your handset registered, the following documents should be submitted to the Telecommunications Authority within one month from entrance date, through a subscription centre (“abone kayit merkezi” in Turkish) of relevant Turkish mobile operator.
• Passport and copies of relevant pages of passport (identity and entry stamp pages),
• A petition indicating IMEI number of handset. (could be provided by subscription centre)
After the registration is completed Turkish network sim card can be used with a British handset. Please ensure that the handset must be sim free or not locked.
You can check if your handset's IMEI number is registered with the Telecommunications Authority or not through Turkish Telecommunications Authority's website at: http://imei.tk.gov.tr"
Like hell i'm submitting my passport and a written petition to use my own damn phone. That's just orwellian.

Crikey. Good luck with that!
Not doing it their way is illegal! Like it or not!
Also changing the IMEI is illegal in most (if not all) countries. I feel your pain, and you might not agree with their law, but it is a law, so you shouldn't break it.

Totally, that's like replacing the VIN plates on a car here in the US. The only reason you do it is if it's stolen.
I know that is an old topic but the info that I gave my be usefull who need to visit Turkey more than 15 days.
First of all it's partly restricted to use any phone not bought in Turkey.
I said partly because one who want to use this kind of phone in Turkey has 2 options.
First, if you won't stay more that 15 days in Turkey there is no restrictions. You may use any brand or any type of wireless device that compatible with GSM network.
Second , if you need to stay more than 15 day you may apply any office of any GSM provider (which are AVEA, VODAFONE, OR TURKCELL in Turkey) to register your device.
There are some rules for registration,
You may need to apply with your passport, that show you had enter Turkey within 1 month. Any application after 30 days from the date of arrival time wont accepted.
You may register only 1 device for 1 passport.
You may register only 1 devive in 2 years.
And finally you will be charged for registration fee about €5.
You need to register your phone if you want to use it with your own home country operator. Othervise it will be blocked too, because you will gain your service, over one of Turkish operators.
After registration you may able to use your phone with your own home country operator or Turkish operators.
Note: This process is to prevent illegal importing, to save local customers who need to deal with fake devices. And ofcourese IMEI cloning is illegal in Turkey too.
hi i got one of these recently and my sim works it picks up its an o2 sim but no signal?? i can use wifi and all other features except make or recive calls or txts??? any ideas i bought it from ebay so would flashing it and unlocking network do anything? the handset is an o2 endorsed set but i was told i need to change the imei number??? im new to this so ny advise would be taken on board or and software d/l to change imei, i have flashed the handset and radio unlocked it but i need to unlock the cid??? i dont even know what this is. please help
Moved as not ROM Development.
You could try following the instructions for flashing ROM for noobs in sticky in ROM development, but it sounds like you have baught a blocked phone since been told to change imei which is against the law in most countries hence thread locked.
Ok this is odd! I received my hd7 yesterday and immediately set about getting it unlocked once i had done the basic set up. Because of what i have read so far on numereous forums i automatically assumed the phone ould be locked and went to one of the two sites suggested here to purchase my code. Within 5 mins i had my unlock code for the sum of £19 something.
So i then read through the email and go to follow the instructions. The first instruction states that i should put in a SIM card from a different network. So i put in the t-mobile SIM i intend to use with the HD7 and would you believe it ITS UNLOCKED?! The phone tile shows T-Mobile as the network and i check and see if i can make and receive calls...all work fine?
Now my question is: was my hd7 unlocked when i purchased it? (bought online from o2 uk payg) or did the guys fromm the unlock site do some sort of jiggery-pokery that unlocked my phone OTA via my IMEI number?
Didnt O2 and Tmobile recent join forces to some extenet. I think they share the same network now so that may be why.
I bought a PAYG one yesterday and my vodafone simcard didnt work so bought the unlock code.

It can't be unlocked OTA, so it must have been shipped unlocked.
That was too good to be true…after appearing to be unlocked my HD7 has
now decided to lock itself. It is giving me this message:
"This sim card can only be used on specific networks. Contact your customer service centre for the unlock code"
I've attempted 3 different PINS (1210, 0000 and 0000 again) with my T-Mobile SIM card in incorrectly so i guess i now need to get a PUK code. The question is who do i go to get this from T-Mobile (my current netwoork) or O2.

That's T-Mobile and Orange.

Errmm, That unlock code it's asking you for is not the SIM PIN, it's the unlock code you paid for from the site, I hope you did not guess it incorrect too many times otherwise you can lockout the phone completely.
OH GOD! you were right...that message was basically asking for the unlock code i paid for. Once i punched the code in it accepted it and i appear to be up and running again.
still find it odd that the phone acted like it was unlocked for a brief period before i had unlocked it!
thank you!
Glad it worked, good job you have not tried to guess the code 10 times otherwise you would never have got it unlocked.
Your right though, seems odd that it let you use it the first time, it's all software based anyway so guess it was a glitch.

Hi I work for o2 UK and it sounds to me like you luckily got a device set up for a contract. O2 only tend to sim lock the payg devices now. The salesman probably picked up the wrong device.
Hi,
sorry if the question was already placed but honestly I wasn't able to find a unique answer.
I'll try to be direct:
- phone HTC M7 Vodafone branded
- the phone is working correctly but it has the IMEI blocked by the operator (Vodafone) due to the fact the owner didn't execute all the payments related to the contract. So Vodafone blocked the IMEI. I'm very sure about this as I'm sure it isn't a stolen phone.
Ther result is (as you know) the phone can't work as a phone (no call, sms, data via mobile)
That said, is there a way to unlock the phone in order to work again (as a phone indeed)?
Please don't close the topic immediately, at lest an answer, many thanks

If the first owner didn't made all the payments then it's a stolen phone. Doesn't matters if it was stolen from someone of from a company, it still stolen.

It can be illegal in some countries to mess with the IMEI. Iirc, if you manage to change the IMEI there are other mechanisms preventing your radio to be turned on with a modified IMEI on this phone.
Looks like this topic is not welcome on xda (and for good reasons):

If someone sold you this phone without mentioning it was blacklisted then it's a fraud and should take the required actions to report that fraud.
Thanks Sir
