I always don't like the default SMS chat mode, but this mode more useful for most of us to chat, and somehow, I just found this way to make my SMS chat mode became more beautiful, just amend the file "iframe_style.css". I thought this is a better way to make the interface of SMS chat mode more popular.
And now here we are, The andynear simple UI for the SMS chat mode.
And I will keep working on this, to build more beautiful UI...

Use Resco Explorer or any other file explorer except the default one to get permission to replace files in windows folder.

Hi, I am using the 0.6v and its very nice on my Omnia 2, but the Sender and main message body seems to have a gap in between. If it is a long message the gap between the sender and message is increased. Also is 1.10v uploaded or 0.6 the latest version?

Sorry...because I only have one wing on hand, so can't tack care all the system,
and I am already fix that a little， you can download the 0.6 again...see if that's OK.
But the too much long message, you only need to lengthen the "smsbg_in" and the other pic files.

I downloaded and installed the HTC Touch dialpad, and it worked well but was pretty plain.
I've spent a few hours reworking the graphics it uses and came up with a new skin based on a wallpaper I downloaded from www.pocketpcscreens.com. I've got portrait working well, but haven't done landscape yet...

To install it, you'll need to install the HTC Touch dialpad (Wizard_reTOUCHed_Dialer2.zip), then download the background zip of your choice. Copy all of the image files from the zip into your device's Windows dir, and overwrite any files it prompts about. Soft reset your phone (or stop cprog.exe then reopen the phone) and enjoy!
This has been tested on my T-Mobile Wing w/ WM6. I haven't tested it on any prior versions of WM or other devices, so maybe someone can chime in whether it's OK or not.
If anyone wants the raw png's to make your own, let me know and I can attach them too...
I also attached a corresponding 'Rocks' WM theme and images for ContactsManager and Slide2Unlock for a nice uniform look.
I'm not too sure about the technical aspects of the dialer... You may want to check the thread where the dialpad was released. This is just a graphical update I did for it...

Your post did help, because I noticed that the landscape theme background doesn't quite match the landscape dialer background. I've worked hard to keep them all uniform and avoid the wallpaper jumping up and down when you switch screens...

That's it. I must be officially dumb; I cannot find any information anywhere about how to apply a separate skin to the Touch dialer.
I was already using the PhoneBoost Lite with the Eten skin. Is this the same thing as the reTouched dialer you linked? (Again, I can't find any information linking the two)

Nah, don't feel dumb. No problem at all. They're not related - I got the Touch dialpad from here. I got it simply to get rid of the horrendous T-Mobile dialpad. After I installed it, I wasn't overly impressed by the looks of this one either, and realized that all of the graphic elements were simply .png's in the Windows directory. I used the old dialpad as a reference for size and layout and created a whole new set of graphics to use instead of the default Touch ones. There's no coding or software manipulation at all on my end, it's all strictly graphical.

hey, just a quick question, what kinda smart dial is there in the touch dialer...is it the one from microsoft that is inbuilt in wm6 or is it the one from HTC...I personally liked the htc one better as it it showed me the number of the contact without having to press a key on the contact...

If you post a portrait and landscape wallpaper (240x320 and 320x240) I should be able to do it. I've designed the graphics to make it pretty easy to replace the wallpaper and keep the transparency...

I would like to use it with more than one background, so what I'm looking for is something like a nice "standard" (plain-ish, but nice) background for the dialer, say, in a dark color or something, still keeping the nice transparencies.
Maybe I'm being too picky... but since you have the "skill" (and yes, you do!), I'm sure you can come with a couple of ideas .
The files are on my laptop at work, so I can crank something out tomorrow. in the meantime take a look at pocketpcscreens.com and see if there are any wallpapers you want. Otherwise I'll just use a neutral one...

I dont really have any way to test VGA, so that would be difficult for me to do... I think some users on PocketCM website have made themes into VGA, maybe you could ask around for someone willing to do this? If you get the settings.ini file done in VGA form, I will redo graphics.

For making it blue instead of gray, just open up all the graphics in the .zip that are grey and color balance them to be blue in photoshop or some program like that... if you need more help dont hesitate to ask

Download whichever theme (which is a .zip file) you like (basically just choose which SMS bubbles you like) from the first post
then, drag the .zip file you downloaded to the PocketCM Contacts folder on your Device (I am not sure where this is or what it is called on your device)
then in options within PocketCM Contacts - which you will find by holding down the phone button and releasing on the settings cog icon - press the button "Select Theme" and select the name of whichever theme you downloaded and placed in the PocketCM Contacts folder

Since announcing version 2 of my tPRO skin series and launching the website last summer, and after 60,000+ downloads since then alone, this project received nearly no support (thank you Michael and John for your donations). What do you mean by messaging notification? There are already icons for text messages (sms), multimedia messages (mms) and e-mails (icons 2, 3 and 4 on my screenshot). Still can't get this envelope in a baloon thing...
I'll work on messenger and flexmail icons then. And I think I'll redesign the mms one. This is the first one I came up with but don't think it's that indicative.

I have some issues with this theme.....Please don't take it personally i am telling what i experienced.
1.Numbers are not aligned on white box on wallpaper.
2.Its will not work exactly as the screen shot.
3.In charging mode clock doesn't appear.
I have copied and replaced the "gfx" file in S2U2 Folder under program mes. is this procedure is correct....

Hey there,
Since you obviously see the wallpaper with the flip clock it seems you have copied it right.
1. I guess your time format is set to H:mm without the leading zero - 8:22 instead of 08:22. Use your favorite registry editor and change the key HKCU\Software\A_C\S2U2\TimeFormat key to HH':'mm. This should make sure the time is always four digits and therefore always aligned to the wallpaper. I'll make sure to add a .reg file with all the necessary changes soon.
2. What other differences do you find from the screenshot? If you can provide a screenshot of your device it'll be great.
3. This is my mistake. I never use fullscreen battery hence never worked on that. Note taken.

I can extend the flip clock to fit the am/pm but still you have to set time with leading zero to have the same number of digits all the time eg. 05:00PM.

Current hardcoded layout of S2U2 doesn't allow me to make the flip clock work with fullscreen battery. Hope not a lot of you use it anyway...
Start working on some left over notification icons and am/pm flip clock.
I've changed the MMS icon (icon #4) to baloon with a paper clip similar to how it's shown in TF3D.
Then I created one for Flexmail (icon #6) and used one from Manila for Messenger (icon #7).
Hope you like them. If you do download the attached file and unzip to gfx folder, overwriting the old notice.png.
Still can't figure out what's the second icon for though..

The 2nd icon is for Pocket Informant, not sure about the 1st one. It looks like an email icon, but I'm sure it cant be that easy.
I played around with the flip clock trying to make it work with am/pm time and tried to get it as close as possible to TF3D (screen #1) but it's not that simple. There's no way to get the am/pm symbols closer to the digits. Extending the flip itself is pretty ugly for me (screen #2) so I came up with something like this (screen #3).
If you like it I can export wallpaper fitting the time this way. If you have any other ideas you're more than welcome.
Can I just have this in 12hour format without the AM/PM. Cause really. I don't need to know if it's night or day lol. I can notice that by just looking around.
Dude this is great work, I'm gonna try this out soon, first I need to update my S2U2 because I noticed that its not quite the newest version, another question also does this extra nice looking stuff take any kind of battery toll?

Couple of points I would love to change, if you could advised me how to:
1. your vista orb gives a list of apps, ok just realize it is picking up the apps from program list I created (so if I arrange my list to have the ones I want to show up then they will be in the list when I press the ORB...cool
2. ok then my next (first since the first was not a question at all , is their a way to cut the list down to 6 apps showing instead of 7 (the last app covers the ORB - see screenshot) unless it is possible to move the whole popup upwards above the SPB3 taskbar? (would be great if the Vista ORB was visable and we could tap on it again to close the menu)
3 (2) is it possible to have the Program tab show when first clicking on programs instead of the SPB Menu tab.
EDIT: actually looking at your screenshots, the popup menu is suppose to popup above the taskbar, my setup seems to be different (and yes I did DL & Install the VGA version onless the DL files were mixed up)

I've heard that you should leave your SpbMobileShellLoc.zip intact - that's where the language settings are.

Yes there is a file to remove the side bar.
The file is "All sans side bar"

It's a skin for SPB Mobile Shell 3
When you have install SPB MS3, install the cab of wmseven and if you want the black version overwrite the files in your ppc with the files of black version

Thanks for the Reply Apothehouse, but for number 2 I think you might have misunderstood me, I know that button will soft reset but that is not what I meant to close I meant to close your menu popup (so what I mean I click on the Vista Orb icon to open your menu and then click on your Visat Orb again to close it if I decide not to use it) but when you look at me screenshot the last program in the menu covers the Vista Orb.

Thanks apothehouse, is their a reason then mine is showing 7 shortcuts as can been seem from the right side of the menu it ends above the taskbar so I don't understand why this is happening.

Back with another VITO SMS-Chat skin... Sense UI style this time. WHY? BECAUSE HTC MESSAGES APP SUCKS! There I said it. It's just way too slow and laggy for somebody like me who can do a hundred or more texts a day... Need a speedy app to handle my SMS and good ol VITO works great. Here is just a preview for now. Still need to work on popup notification. Will post tomorrow.
This will work on all resolutions and with the latest version of SMS-Chat ;-)

Off topic, even I'm a heavy messager like you, and with 8000+ messages in the Inbox+Sent Items, Vito SMS is very sluggish and the scrolling is very lumpy and sucky, unlike any other app (like any resco app/ build in wm6.5 scrolling).
Do you experience something similar?
Not at all, but I consider myself a light user. I don't store tons of messages. I advise exporting your messages to a word file and clearing them out once in a while. It's lightning quick for me right now on my Rhodium. Just started using again so there's not a lot of messages though.

I agree SMS-Chat is fantastic, I just wish it could have the option to become the default SMS program.
If you look around you will find hacks to work around making it the default program. Most home programs and contact managers can be modified to open your sms program of choice.
I'm also not convinced that there is no possible way to change the default, since it looks like Sense 2.5 did it. If you use the Leo builds you will find it very hard to pull WinMo SMS back up. It's there but I don't believe there is any way to access it without hacks. So there may be hope.
Well I'm looking forward to the release.
I do believe it is possible to change the default, and I also know there are workarounds by using the registry. However, some programs don't have a registry entry - I couldn't find one for Titanium.

1. Download file to storage
2. Close SMS-Chat
3. Backup everything in SMS-Chat themes folder
4. Unzip the file "gray.bmp" to \Program Files\VITO\SMS-Chat\Themes\bin (it must overwrite current gray.bmp file)
5. Open SMS-Chat and select theme "clear"

mabey you can make the send button little smaller
and you dont skinned the pop up message.. thats still original clear style
but still great theme

Basically he just used the HTC messaging system from Sense2.1 in Sense2.5, not really a fix for the new HTC messaging but a fix for SMS on my device. If you are still interested contact dotcompt.
Also please explain how I should make the send button smaller... Smaller overall or just not as wide or what??

No kidding. But there's no way to edit the skin file to change font color, and it wouldn't be Sense UI if I made the top bar dark.
