Hello everyone, I don't know if this is the right place for asking this, but I'm in quite a big problem.
I've had my HTC Diamond since December and I've flashed it to several different roms many times since then. Never had any problem at all.
But during the past two weeks my phone just started acting crazy. It would all of a sudden crash and even if I took out the battery and placed it in again, it wouldn't boot up. I'd have to wait until I got back home to flash the ROM again, so I could keep using the phone.
BUT the problem is that ever since then the ROM keeps hard-resetting itself every few hours. Sometimes it might last for a day or two without doing anything weird. But all of a sudden it might just crash, and when rebooting the phone would act as if it was the first time running the phone (you know, with the screen calibration, time settings and all... and then having to import all of my contacts and calendar again, not to mention any application).
This hard-reset also happens randomly when I turn the phone off and on again. Sometimes it loads up normally, sometimes it goes to factory settings again.
Now, I wouldn't be so worried if this wasn't happening WITH EVERY SINGLE ROM that I'm trying. Both Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5 roms. Even those that I've used in the past without any problem. They all hard-reset themselves at some point or crash and get unable to boot until I flash another ROM again.
I've also tried fully hard-resetting the phone myself -both the phone memory and the internal memory- and even flashing different Hard-SPLs and Radios.
It still goes on the same though.
Anyone has any suggestions?
Or is my phone dead forever now?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Have you tried to instal stock roms? If they work, install cooked rom with the same version as stock. Might help.
I have the same problem since a few days... Have you solved it yet?
I'm having extactly the same strange issues... Does anyone have any idea on why this is happening? I'm going out crazy!
This happens sometimes after you've installed numerous ROM's.
You'll need to use an app called 'Mtty' to sort out the problem, then flash ROM again and it should work fine.

Look on google/do some research before using to make sure you understand what it is mtty.exe is, and how to use it.
thank you for your quick answer cymru, but i resolved flashing a stock rom and then reflashing the cooked one ad suggested by kosherpig.
Bye!
Well heres the story. I flashed cyanogen 6.0 and all was great,fast,smooth,perfect... Then it all went downhill. The backlight cut out. After wiping, reflashing, doing everything possible as far as that it was still the same.
I soon figured out that if i lock my phone while it was closed, then slid it open and hit menu the backlight would turn on, but it will not work when its not slid open at all.
Problem #2
As i have been dealing with the first problem and i dont have alot of time to fix it because of work and all, it grew even worse. Now when i do what i was doing to get the backlight to come on, The phone will randomly freeze/backlight wont come on at all/ Screen wont even come on.
When i turn on the phone sometimes the screen wont even come on but the backlight will and it wont get anywhere."blank lit black screen no tmobile g1 logo"
This also happens when i go to recovery using home+power. I remedy that by taking out the battery and starting the phone till it works.
Could someone please help me out here i dont really have to much to spend on a new phone and it would be great if i can get this one going like it should again.
you need to wipe before reinstall
if you have armonR, you wipe everything the wipe menu and flash the rom and the flash gapp-3
ive done that many times, hasnt solved anything. i dont know whats going on..getting to the point where i might just break down and get a htc hd2 and put android on it
Try flashing the Defanged Base (which you can find on the cyanogen wiki) then flash the Rom again.
to be honest it was time for an upgrade anyways, now i have the samsung vibrant. Its awesome. Thank you for the help anyways though.

You lucky f***! How are you liking it? I was thinking about getting one soon but i havent talked to anyone with one. Is there anything you dont like about it?
So for few weeks now ive been having issues with GPS, everytime i want to run navigation its unable to find my location, with that said id like figure out if its hardware/software related issue or network problem..anyone with tmobile and experiencing same problems please share
ty
btw im on latest nightly
Do a nandroid backup, wipe and see if the problem persists ...if you're rooted of course
thats the thing i just did a full wipe twice and problems persists, which leads me to believe its hardware or network..im really hoping it isnt the phone
first post updated
whats the problem? All nexus ones take a bit of time to lock on.
its unable to lock on, it just keeps saying unable to find location thus preventing me from using navigation, in other words it doesnt work ..
Have you tried a different rom?
I have not had any problems here in WA state.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
thanx, this is exactly the feedback im looking for, ive been trying all evening and it still doesnt want to lock on, ive searched and came up with few threads on similar problem and no resolution..im hoping im not alone and its not hardware as im pretty sure htc wont be able to give me a replacement at this point
try an app called gps status, lets see what that app tells us
ok installed ran it compass worked fine everything else was blank, rebooted phone ran it again within 30 secs i got stats, launched maps and it found my location. Its the first time in 2 days it had worked for me..weird. I also googled symptoms and came up with possibility that my sim card is "too old" (its roughly 7 years old)? could it be?
just a quick question... for some odd reason everytime i go back to stock, i never get any service... it will keep going from the ghostbusters signal thing to some bars then back to the ghostbusters thing... cant make calls or use data... and it keeps saying updating time and date when it does grab a bar or two... however on any custom rom everything works perfectly... ive tried relentlessly to figure out why and try to fix it... did the airplane mode, changed modems countless times, and nothing fixes it except using a custom rom... so i gave up and just told myself u didnt buy it to not mod, but wtf is going on lol...
any ideas?

Check which version of Odin youre using, and try another. The one in the AIO toolbox http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944418 should work perfectly fine.
come to think of it, i have been using the same one over and over... downloading AIO now... if it dont work ill just have an excuse to get a new phone 6mo from now, sell it, and get something better...
just to follow up, a different version of odin, and still the phone is unusable when on stock... can't use the network for anything... oh well... guess im guaranteed a replacement whenever i feel like it...
Ok so I'm on xdabbebs 2.5 and it's pretty amazing how silky smooth the rom is but I'm having a Wi-Fi problem that just won't go away no matter what rom, flash, hard reset, method I try. Basically the problem is that every timetime I'm away from my phone for an extended period of time, the Wi-Fi shuts off and it's such a pain to get it back on. It never works from dropdown, sometimes works if I go all the way to settings and worst case scenario I have to reset the phone. I have a Verizon lg g2 and actually it's a replacement phone because I lost the original one and am not sure if that's the reason for the issue. Anyhow I wanted to try something out, but am not 100% on what to do. In order to address the issue should I get a new kernel or radio and if so which one? If someone could lead me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.
anyone?
