I need help with the in call screen, the screen turns off during the call which gives me hard time especially if I need to use the keypad during the call. I tried BsB tweak, HD tweak, In call tweak and nothing worked. Can somebody help me with an application to disable the light sensor I want my battery to die but the screen stays on during the call.
Use TD2 Tools
Hi
TD2 Tools will help you keep the screen active when in a call.
Don't fully understand your second question. You want the battery to die? If you do, DON'T disable the sensor - if you don't, then simply go to Settings/All Settings/System/Power/Backlight and make whatever adjustments you need.
Hope this helps.

Thanks I'll give it a tray. Regarding my second question, it's actually not a question I was joking about the light sensor rule as I prefer my battery to die than having this sensor working and disturb my calls.

Strange one this but I am left handed (eared) and after making a call I always find that my ear has opened lots of programs whilst talking. Is there a way to lock the display while taking a call or some other solution?
Also after uninstalling PocketInformant I now find my Calender softkey key is unmapped. I have seen references that I just need to remap it using "Advance Config" but I can't find that either.
Can someone help a halfwit..!
Thanks, Steve.

The Advanced Config is here:http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/index.php?path=Kaiser+Cab+Collections/
hey, I have the same problem with programs opening up with my ear. the only solution I found is to turn ur screen off while on a call (press power button) or don't press ur ear as hard to the phone
omar
thats what i did. im still seeking a software which can automaticly lock the touch screen while on the call.
The easiest way is to just push the power button on the right side of your device while you're talking, as sometimes you might want to hit the speaker phone button or use the keypad. If you use this method of pushing the power button, all you need to do is hit it again and your screen is active.
PhoneAlarm will automatically blank the screen for you when a call is connected.

i might be wrong but when i tested S2U2 a while ago i recall seeing something about an option to "blank screen" during calls... may be worth a try, its free and available here at xda =)
cheers

As in post # 6 I also recommend PhoneAlarm. Does the job really nicely for me.
Thanks for all your fast answers..!
I knew all you smart guys would know what to do...
Somehow I am able to manage to switch of my phone ...
With my ear I am entering the connection manager and than I disable the phone or enter flight mode.
I am coming from a SE P990 and here the screen is automaticaly locked during a call.
It would make defenitly sense to block the input from the touch panel during a call, but keeping the display on for basic information. On the other side I would like to have also access if I want to look for a contact information or agenda setting during a call.
Claus
There are alternative solutions like PalmarySoft Phone ScreenLock which explicitely locks the touch screen without turning it off during call.
The best is that this app. does nothing else ... no today plugins ... nothing in excess.
Simple ... yet usefull.
Does it have the functionality to unlock while you're on the call?
Say you want to look something up while on the phone....
yes it does.
Hey, how do I keep screen light on, while in call?
You know... to dial extensions etc.
Thanks!
Try Kaiser Tweak (its stickied in the general kaiser forum). It has that & a bunch of other usefull tweaks, best of all its free...
ok, got it, installed, now... hehe, what to tweak to get that done?
i really need that screen to be on all the time while in call....

As stated about about dialing extension and things. For instance when I go to pay a bill over the phone. I dial the number .. it asks me to input my account number .. Look at the screen and its black and I have to hit the power button to bring it back to life to input the number .. Then I have to do the same thing when inputing my credit card number and etc etc.
It just get a little annoying for those that input numbers over an automated system. From some people its not a problem and the powering off the screen really quick is nice ..
I belive the setting on Kaiser Tweak was Fast Sleep. You have the ability to change that and not effect the devices normal sleep setting.
There are two listed tweaks for preventing the Diamond from turning the screen off during a call. I've done them both, and nothing happens. Are these tweaks confirmed to work for all phones, or just on some? It says the "Sleep" one works on european ROM -- do all European phones have the same rom?
I'm having a simmilar problem... It seems that the screen turns off after a set period of time... I thought that the light sensor was supposed to only shut the screen off when you bring it up to your ear, light gets dull... I have the phone sitting in well lit room and done got near it yet the screen still turns off..?

give it a shot
I've read that if you remove the stylus while in a call, then the note program comes on automatically, but the screen will also stay on until the call is finished

yes, you are right and this is in my humble opinion the best solution. this way even if u touch with yr ear/cheek the screen no funny noises and no unwanted programs popping up not to mention that this way u have the choice and if you don't need the screen it stays black.
If you want to turn your screen back on during a call just simply press the round center button once and it will turn back on. no need for any hacks.
Thanks for the help
From what I have read, the phone screen should only turn off the screen when you bring it up to your ear/there is low light on the light sensor in the handsets ear speaker... My phone's screen shuts itself off after 3 seconds or so, doesnt matter where light is... If you just disable fastdormant (1 to 0), does the phone still shut itself off after x seconds or does it wait until there is a change in light?
Can anyone confirm/clarify the above???
Also is it possible to reactivate the display once the phone detects a sizeable change in brightness again? From reading the links posted, no one has found a solution for this one yet..?
The screen will not turn off as long as you continue to touch the center button during call. The default setting work fine with me until I need to get information during a call yesterday. The center button touch allow you to use other functions during phone call.
[EDIT] STRANGELY ENOUGH, AFTER ENTERING THE REGISTRY AND JUST LOOKING AT THE VALUE OF THE KEYS HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM BELOW...
[/EDIT]
My problem is that my phone won't go into the sleep mode when calling. Covering the phone doesn't help (I've tested the light sensor, and that still works)
For me this feature is a positive thing so I would like it to work again.
The registry entry for the EnableFastDormant is still on "1". The HTC Phone Skin is loaded (without that skin it doesn't work either).
When searching the forum I come across people who want their screen to stay on... I want the opposite to happen again. Anybody a suggestion?

Check this reg entry as well:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\Sleep - 1
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LightSensorPollingEnable - 1
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\BatteryTimeoutInCall - 5
HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\BatterySuspendTimeoutInCall - 5
Also,
Start - Settings - System
Power
Advanced
Check the following:
Turnoff Backlight if device is not used for 30 Sec
Turn off Device if not used for 40 sec
All the best
Note: After changing Registry Entries.. (if you had to).. do a soft reset.

I know... However, it bothers me as it doesn't really show realiability. Why didn't it work in the first place!? I'm experienced enough to know that I didn't do anything to the registry.

**** happens mate... no point in beating yourself over it.
Besides - it's WINDOWS - since when did Windows care about RELIABILITY.
Chill.
Let's just hope it keeps working.
Problem with 1.93 ROM
Hey,
I cant seem to get the screen to stay on during a phone call using Asia WWE 1.93 ROM....
I have got BattTimeoutIncall = 0
BattSuspendIncall = 0
Phone\Sleep = 0
EnableFastdormant = 0
but the screen still turns off if i leave the phone sitting on the desk under light exactly when the call time ticks over to 4 sec (0:03 to 0:04)...
Ideas anyone, is this an issue with v1.93 rom?
Thanks.
this works!
Does this still enable the light sensor???
Still want the light sensor to work - i.e. turn off the screen when i bring it up to my head...

This is actually the best option because it turns off the screen when you want to conserve battery life.
So I just press the Center button when I want to see the screen to use the keypad or speakerphone.
Also, I have disabled the phone shade (curtain) by doing this:
Code:
HKLM/Software/HTC/Phone/PhoneLockEnable = 0
I checked the power settings(I set it off after 1 Min),but the phone display is on during calls. It's on for 6-7 mins, not turning off. What to do? Please rep ASAP
Just press the power button on the top of the phone, and it will turn the screen off. Well thats what i do any way. Try it out
Dont hold it for to long otherwise the phone will turn off, just give it a quick press!
Download XperiaTweak v2.0
Hi,
I have the exactly opposite problem. I have installed XperiaTweak (current version) and enabled the option "Disable Screen Turning Off during calls", but it's still turning off after a minute (like the normal standby settings...).
Do you know the registry key etc. for that feature so that I can check the settings?
regards
Nils
Whats most retarded is why we can't have what the iPhone ALREADY does...
the Xperia X1 has a front facing (near your ear) light sensor. It should turn the screen off when it is next to your ear, and turn it on when you move it away from your ear... JUST LIKE HOW THE iPHONE DOES IT.
I mean, something this simple... why hasn't it been implemented?
Think about it. Why put the light sensor near the ear then? When not put it on the side or something? because obviously someone thought that, well, when the phone is near the ear, it will go from light to immediate darkness, and when moved away, dark to light.
Why cant we have somethign this simple? Or anyone know of a workaround or third party app?

The X1 as you probably know has no light sensor or accelerometer, so there is no way to interpret when the phone is at your ear or otherwise.
FingAZ.

Actually, it does have a light sensor. What else do you think automatically adjusts the screen's brightness? This really is an ingenious idea, can someone cook up an app that runs in the background to do this?
I want to have light during call all time I tray Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v3.3 and did not find nathing no option on battery display or call thet will keep my back linght on durring call some idea?
And the touch pro 2 does have the feature to turn off screen when you put it to your ear. Devs?

Use Advance Configuration Tools to fix this by enabling Wifi during standby.
Hello!
I'm having some problem with my X1 phone. When every some1 calls me my phone seems to answer or hangs up the call by itself when its in my pocket. Im guessing the screen is very sensitive. Is there any alternative call menu or some way for the keylock to stay on even when some1 calls?
Thanks

hey
as I'm not sure what rom you are on some feedback/options from mine
under start - settings - personal - phone - advanced (tab) there is a flag "Reject call with text message: <customizable message body>"
check if you find that and whether it is enabled
don't know whether there are additional options anywhere else
alternatively you can install/use apps, like Smart Lock (under settings - system when cooked in) to configure your lock screen behaviour, e.g. for incall|outcall|outcall connect
hope that helps some, will check for your feedback
best
I would start with making sure the X1 is 'face-up' when in your pocket. Meaning the phone's face is not touching your leg.
Similar to what DK said above, what ROM are you using? Even more specific, what phone dialer are you using? I know on occasion I have had problems with the HTC dialer on certain ROMs.
