I remember someone did it for Hero but you might have to customize the ROM first.

Even if this is possible, both of the ROMs would need to be either Froyo based or GB based because they would have to share the radio. Currently on IncS Froyo radio won't work on GB ROM and vice versa.

htc logo as menu button on 4.4

Are there any roms that do this? Yes I searched, there is information all over the place.
I'm still on 4.2 because of the ability to do this with a custom kernel, thanks.

There are many kernels that support that feature on 4.4/4.4.2 Roms.

Are they all based on cyanogen or any stock/googleplay edition roms? A lot of information is cluttered everywhere.

Yes, only use 5.1 kernels with 5.1 ROMs. Only use 5.0.x kernels with 5.0.x ROMs.
Other than that, no.
The one you like the most and spend time with to optimize.

Honestly, the best thing you can do is read through each ROM/KERNEL thread and and following posts to get an idea of users opinions. Many ROMS and KERNELS are very alike, but are more tuned to what the creator felt should be included. After that, test all the ones you like. Try different combinations. As long as you are following proper flashing procedures, your risk of a brick is very low, and can easily be fixed by returning to stock if it does happen. You will find that some ROM and KERNEL combinations are better for performance, some for style, some for battery life, and some for specific uses (hacking).
To sum that bit up, read through the threads and posts, find what you like, and test until you find a combination that best suits you!

that was a subjective question and this is an inappropriate response
it depends on what you want out of a ROM and what your stock ROM is like. if a stock ROM doesn't suit your needs, sometimes there is an appropriate ROM for you. i have rooted every samsung device i have ever had and improved my experience greatly.
when you find a good developer, custom ROMs can be better. stock is usually most stable

I wonder what you want out from a rom?we are using/talking about OOS and that's suit my needs(It has all that is missing in stock android).
Sorry but Samsung software is garbage.
Midomad said:
As Android is further refined, there are fewer and fewer reasons to use a custom ROM for most users, custom ROMs will always be relevant to entry-level/midrange smartphone users, or those who still use older devices, that aren't receiving official updates from OEMs anymore.

OOS seems to have everything i want in a ROM too.
that being said, i may find features that i want and don't have. my moto has pretty much everything i could want, but updating to a custom 7.1.1 increased the performance of my device so much that i can't imagine going back.
i haven't used any custom ROMs for OP3T yet, but from what i'm reading we have some really good devs and it is worth a shot. for instance, RR offers customization to such granularity that i will try it because that customization leaves me feeling like i actually own the device (basically the opposite of what apple does with their products)

Apps you can, but like the games which come with obb files, no, it will restore but they won't run.
Also best is subjective, try out roms and see what works for you.
