Thats what I originally thought but I RUU'd and re-rooted and everything and it was STILL there when I went to the stock RUU Rom. Its crazy cuz right when I nand restore to the 2.1 its ok but if I go on ANY 1.5 ROM it happens again.

I am trying to restore my phone to the original state.
I managed to get root but I stupidly put in a theme that messed up my phone.
Every time I go into the recovery utility the Build says:
CyanogenMod v1.2 + JF
How do I get rid of this and put the real Build back?
I have been searching for hours.
please help!
VGM out...
Now it wont even get past the Rogers boot screen! HELP!!!!
That would be the build for your recovery; it's irrelevant unless you want your phone back to exactly how it was when you first got it.
You'll need to restore a nandroid backup. It shouldn't be hard to find out how to do it but try here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538134.

Thats exactly what I want to do, to get it back to the way I first got it.
I want to get rid of that Build. I managed to restore it and fixed the boot problem, but that Build is still there.
I want to get it back to the way it was cause everytime I try to root, it doesnt work. the market enabler doesnt work.

You seem to misunderstand me. I assume you want it to run like how it did when you first got it. And that's exactly what you have done from following the thread I linked you, I assume.
The CyanogenMod v1.2 + JF is ONLY for the recovery. It doesn't have anything to do with your boot problem.

This statement is not quite correct.
To get it EXACTLY like it was before. You would also need to do something about that recovery.img (which is called CyanogenMod v1.2 + JF). Unless you're returning the phone to Rogers or you have OCD, that should not matter and doing what the thread says will be fine.
thank you for your help. got everything to work properly!

I saw several users reporting the same today. I don't want to take a guess but I think google is up to something...
Do a factory reset, and sign back in with your google account. Then reflash your 2.1 nandroid.
(I'm assuming you restored with a nandroid)

I used the PASSIMG.zip method which will restore everything even the stock recovery image. Factory reset alone will not suffice.
Even brand new N1 user can't get the update today: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/android/thread?tid=468801cbdf8eb9fe&hl=en
I will stay on 2.1 and wait further. I think something's coming
Thanks for the reply though.
Hmm..oh well then.
so after flashing clockworkmod and getting my phone out of fastboot my power button didnt seem to work at least for the most pushes so i factory restored from my phone not clockwork then it booted to clockwork after that it just keeps booting into clockwork anyone know how to fix this i dont feel like going to my home verizon store and letting them know i tried to flash several things and bricked it...if anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated
Try wiping data, cache, and dalvik-cache and flash the rooted factory stock rom from thecubeds post
i will do that and let u on an update in a few mins
when u say flash do u mean the directions on thecubed thread?
Yep. Good luck
dam didnt work im an idiot FOR doing this haHa
Aww that sux what exactly is it doing? Not booting up?
yeah after i did the factory reset in the settings on android it booted to clockwork then i restarted my phone and it booted to clockwork and after that clockwork lol now im guessing i need to really flash it cause i think thecubed rom was just to remove the bing and stuff but its actually not flashing totally
i think its my boot image that disapeared lol
when i back up my phone all the system is there but i think the boot image is gone so it cant boot up but i dont know not a pro hacker or anything i just like technology and how it works and u know what they say u will never learn how to fix it if u dont break it haHa
Lol I guess that is true, and I think the nandroid near the bottom of the development page contains a boot.img if your willing to try that out, hope it all works out for you.
thanks
drock thanks for ur help im booting the nandroid right now im an idiot and went wit the de-binged rom and it didnt have a boot.img but the nandroid had it LAWL im an idiot prob wouldve been fixed earlier thanks for replying at this time of night i was thinking nobody gonna answer me or anything
Lol no problem, happy to help.
damn thought it would work but it didnt still booting to clockwork if anyone can help or just a suggestion ill try dont feel like claiming insurance for a new one

So idk what I did wrong but i flashed viper and now when I boot my device up it goes to the main screen but its all black except for the status bar on top which shows my battery the time and says i have no signal. cant do anything else other than look at that screen... any ideas?
also my imei and baseband are now unknown..
Viper is currently a rom for Sprint version only... are you using a T-Mobile HTC One?
1) Restore a backup
2) Make sure you are downloading a ROM compatible with your version (like im0rtalz said)
3) Redownload (assuming you are using a sprint phone, sounds like a bad download)
4) Reflash
Post back with any updates to help anyone else that might be stuck
Good luck man!
yeah i did restore a backup and it didnt do anything, im going through the process of relocking and doing the ruu to see if i can get it fixed..

make sure you downloaded the full install and not just the ota/update of the rom

Update for everyone, I got things sorted out and got back to stock. thanks for the input and quick responses though i appreciate it
Good! Was it a non sprint phone?
My son has the Non-HK edition and has somehow erased everything off of his phone. As in, there is no operating system anymore. I've tried everything I can think of to get it back to stock and nothing is working. Maybe someone here can help me out and walk me through how to get it back working? The phone will boot to the screen where you can choose Fastboot, Recovery, HBOOT, and all that stuff. No custom recovery is installed on the phone either. I use to have TWRP on it but like I said, EVERYTHING is gone.
Your best bet is to run the latest non HK RUU found here.

Thank you so much for your help. I had tried that before and it didn't work. I have no idea why? I must have done something wrong. Phone is fixed now though. Thanks again.
