Need Help Urgently!

I rooted my Sprint Hero and installed MoDaCos rom and then tried to install the "Red Is Dead" theme. Now I'm in a boot loop. It gets to the Hero screen on boot up and then starts over with the Sprint animation. I did a Nandroid back up. So now I need help to get my phone back. URGENTLY! Thanks.

Boot to your recovery.
if your nandroid backup is not on your sd card, put it there by
plug into pc and and turn on usb mode
copy nandroid backup to the root of sd card
unmount and turn off usb mode
choose nandroid restore
and it should restore. good luck

Thanks for the quick reply, but I don't even get that far. It never boots. Just keeps going from Sprint flashy thing to Hero wavy bots screen and back.

turn phone off hold home and hit the pwer button from if you got the recovery in there you can do what esoteric1311 said

I don't get recovery. I get the clear storage screen. The one with the scateboarding androids.

then put the stock rom on it

Bear with me, this is my first Android. How can I put the stock rom on it from this screen? I have the nandroid back up in the sd card, and my comp.

Come on, guys. Can anybody think of anything?

First take a deep breath. Now while you're phone is off press and HOLD the Home key then press the Power key while STILL holding Home. This will bring you to the recovery screen.

hold volume down, and hit red power button
when the skateboarding android comes up, push the home button
then follow the nandroid restore.. etc.

White screen with scateboarding droids. "CLEARSTORAGE"
"Delete all user data?"
<ACTION> Yes
<SEND> No
Above that is my phone info. That's what I get when I do Home then Power? Where do I go from there?

not power home.
volume down + power
then home when the skateboarding androids come up
btw.. where did you get that theme from??? what's it supposed to do?

Why are you telling him to do things the long and complicated way?

I got it from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=578591) Just wanted to change the color of my hero. Trying Voiume/Power now.

Didn't think it was that complicated or long. It's what worked for me when I needed to do a nandroid restore. The OPs previous post said he was at some other screen instead of the black screen w/ green text to do the nandroid restore. Thats all.

Now restoring latest backup.......................................................................................and so on.Will let you know how it goes.

menu --->setting--> about phone
scroll to build info or something
if your last nandroid was after you did modaco, then its modaco. what i do is backup, move from sd to pc and rename "nandroid (stock)", "nandroid (modaco1.1)", etc..
the only known theme working for modaco that i know of is the clear as a bell...

Your way he is entering to the fast boot screen instead of straight to recovery. It's a completely unnecessary step and makes it even more confusing for people already so confused they trying to put themes that aren't even made for their phone (ie the author of this thread).
It's best to keep things as simple as possible. Not everyone knows what they doing or an expert with Android.

Did you even read anything about the theme before you flashed? Thats a gsm theme. The rom version is not even the same as the cdma version. Well lesson learned I guess. Good luck.

Help!! On htc hero roms

hey guys. Im new in htc hero roms. I use to run roms on my HTC Wing and it was easy..lol But now i need help getting use to the Hero ROMS.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME ON HOW TO FLASH the ROMS. A STEP BY STEP ON HOW TO DO IT. its seems complicated but im sure it easy once i get it..lol

are you running 2.1? if so then here is a how to root 2.1 guide here. root the phone first. when you want to flash a rom then download the rom you wish to flash, put it on the root of your sdcard and then turn off the phone. hold down on the volume and press and hold the end key at the same time. once the phone turns on hit the home key. then click on ''wipe'' and click ''wipe data to factory reset''. then click ''wipe dalvik cache'' then hit back and click on ''flash zip from sdcard'' and choose what you want to flash. when its all done just restart the phone and first boot will more than likely take atleast 5 min if not longer. if you need anymore help you can pm me

Instead of holding down volume and end hold down home(house) and home it brings you straight to the recovery image(after root)

yea, you could try pulling out the back cover taking the phone apart and then popping it back out.

dude will try buy ive done that before dident really do any thing it looks intact like it broken but it still makes a clicking sound when i push it down

If your phone still works, you can adb into recovery
or else grab a JIG

He can get to recovery but he cant use the vol down.
OH! IF YOU NEED TO GO DOWN JUST HIT UP A BUNCH OF TIMES!!! DUHHHH! wow. cant believe we BOTH missed it.

just wondering i cannot seem to access into the recovery screen vol up home and menu .
i can tho hop into download mode
i ad flashed a safe kernel and it worked been trying all day to install a rom onto my note but hmmm ..
but it aint going into it no more and i used odin to put the kernel on .. any ideas on how to fix it so i can hop back into recovery ??

No need to open a new thread each day with the same problem.
In your other thread from yesterday you wrote that odin stopped at factoryfs.img.
And as a member wrote you bricked your device.
So two options:
a) replace motherboard for complete repair
b) use the workaround with repartition (and excluding damaged sectors) - use the search here for the detailed explanations how to do this.

If you repartition, be warned you'll lose up to 3gb of space and it's likely you won't be able to run stock roms anymore, only cm based or aokp as they're smaller.

As this member wrote in another thread (search above in my first answer) he bricked his device. So the "right" button combo isn't of any use here

There is no "miracle" fix.

Learned something new about the button combos
Didnt know they would change under certain conditions. Thought they would stay the same. Funny it workes that way. Never read it before. Pretty easy mistake to make on my behalve, I read his combos and really thought he was doing it wrong. Sorry, I then had it wrong. My bad.

[Q] Remove CWM for TWRP issues

Hi friends
I am currently running my HTC ONE with a Venom Rom and been told I need TWRP to update to v4.1
Cannnot get TWRP to go over CWM :/
I have removed ROM Manager but still boots into CWM
I have installed GooManager and it asks if I want to install the open recovery script, does the 10 second count down, and then goes back to main screen, does not do anything else - I have removed it and reinstalled, still same issue
If I use Goo to boot in to Recovery it just freezes on the YES/NO screen and then says script is taking too long wait or cancel :/ Left it for ages to no avail
When I looked in ROM Manager it did state Twrp was the recovery but stil booted in to CWM - now I have removed ROM Manager as I read on here that might be the issue :/
I have also just checked for CWM APP, and that is NOT installed
Can anyone help or am I going to have to flash a STOCK ROM then go back to Venom?

So basically, you want to install TWRP recovery replacing your current CWM recovery right? but can't make it happen since everytime you do, you ended up still having CWM?
Try flashing this file using CWM.

I downloaded it but they were all IMG files and its been a while since I used CLI and couldn't remember the settings
lol
Now to flash the ROM

1- download the file
2- VERIFY MD5
3- (ironically) use 3 (as in three) command lines:
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

It didn't offend me mate, sorry about the short reply, I was just a bit stressed - been ill all Xmas and then I spent 5 hours messing with my phone with a headache, never a good idea lol
