Basically i came from MoDaCo's Desire ROM and nandroid restored back to CM505 yesterday.
I charged my phone over night and unplugged at 7:30ish, 12ish my phone was dead!
I'm just wondering if there is anything I need to check or should I have wiped before going back to CM's ROM?
Just after some advice really!
This been mention many times. If you're coming from another ROM you'll need to do a complete wipe before flashing CM.
Even when doing a nandroid restore from one rom to another?
Yes. It's always recommended.

I've been running CM6 flawlessly for a few weeks now, getting 10-12 hours of battery life everyday. I wanted to give a try at MIUI, didn't like it and I did a Nandroid back to my previous CM6 installation. But now after 3-4 hours of usage I have to charge my cell phone.
Can someone tell me what happened? I haven't changed any settings, SetCpu is at 500/250 with 250/250 when screen is off...
I did all the clear Davik / Cache / partition things before restoring with Nandroid.
I heard about battery kernels, but dont know much about them...
Thanks!
I have exactly the same issue.
try to flash the sbf file image again with rsd lite to make sure your phone is really back to stock
I didnt went back to stock I restored my CM6 Nandroid backup.
I'd never want to go back to stock =)
Tonight I'll try what Ph0z3 posted here and let you know if it did work.

OK, when I first started into this stuff, I tried to follow all the guidance that has been given before flashing my first ROM. I did a ROM Manager backup of my ROM the way I got it from AT&T. I did not write down my ID # or anything else. I'm assuming the backup has all the information that came with it. My question is how to re-load that original ROM. I've flashed quite a few ROMs now using the Odin one-click to go back to stock and Master Clear and never had a problem. I'm running P9 right now (w/ no problems) and decided to try something else. After seeing some of the threads on here about your original phone IDs, I wanted to try and recover that info by restoring the original backup. I did that straight from P9, but now I just get locked up on the DG boot screens. I'm going to One Click it again but I'm wondering how I can restore back to my original with the backup that I have. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks
My apolopies if this is already posted somewhere but I can't find it
Your can not restore a 2.1 backup when on a 2.2 rom, if I understand you correctly. In fact I would only restore a backup if you are on the same rom as the backup, and even then you should disable the lag fix prior to restoring

Not to sure, I tried going to original with nandroid backup after flashing another rom and soft bricked. I actually got stuck at the AT&T screen which on Perc 9 (that what I was running) was the designgears boot screen. Odin 3 one click saved my sanity. if you can go 2.2 to 2.1 I don't know, but I'm not going to try it again. I just one clicked, master cleared, rooted, flashed Axura 2.5 and have been happy ever since. This was my fault, not Perc 9's, let me say that real clear.
Got it
Thanks. I did have to One Click restore to stock, Master Clear, and then restored my original backup. Now I gotta figure out what information I need off of it before I flash a new ROM. Probably a waste of time since I can't imagine going back to AT&T for anything, but thought I would get it since I was waiting to change to P10 soon.

Um.. what information did you want off of it? If you just want your Android ID - there is an app for it on the Market (strangely enough called Android ID) You can then write it down and re-enter it at any time after flashing.
I'm currently using MoDaCo's Rom on my LG (which is pretty awesome btw), but my wife used a 5.7 power adapter on my phone last night by mistake to charge it i went out without realizing it and when i came back the phone was very hot but the battery was even hotter, im talking about i burned my hand by touching it.
Anyways i let it rest all night and now im charging it back and it seems that its charging fine but im afraid that perhaps the internal components and the battery may have got its life reduce because of the charger thing and since its a 1 week old phone im planing on returning it for warranty so i can get a new one but i need to restore it first to the factory rom.
I made a backup of the original Rom with CWM before i started switching to any other Roms and now once i restore it the phone boots but it get stuck at the LG loading bar, the only way to get out of it is by getting back into CWM and flash back my MoDaCo's Rom.
Can someone explain me why my factory rom backup is getting stuck and how to fix it pls?
Hello!
I would guess you need to flash back to ext3 script.
Hmm, does MoDaCo use Ext4? cause i was using CM7 previous to MoDaCo and i had to downgrade to Ext3 in order to be able to flash and make MoDaCo work
no, modaco use ext3 cause it refers to stock rom. so you have to back to ext3 or nvflash
oh so even tho im using modaco atm, i should go back to ext3 again before restore my original froyo backuo? cause i forgot my phone came with froyo
Hey guys, n girls
I had my phone up and running sweet. I have been building and testing my next new release of my own ROM and did incrimental changes to it. I took note of these to do them manually again if needs be...but I took a complete system dump of my phone so I could work from that with my base. I took a nandroid backup aswell.
What would make a phone after attempting to flash my own ROM...want to bootloop like it is? I used the kernel cleaning script. I tried adding just the changes I wanted to the base ROM of OneCosmic's.
Nothing will flash? I even went back to my Nandroid backup complete wipe cleared everything and tried to restore my phone from where it was working perfect yesterday and STILL it bootloops? How is that possible?
I am getting seriously pissed off and I almost want to smash the damn thing. Its not the first time this has happened either, nearly every time I go to test I have to incrimentally install from JVT, CM7 to FuguKernel, RC1...kernel again, RC2, RC3 and then RC3.1 before the phone becomes opperational again? There has to be something seriously wrong with this?
I am about to scrap it all and take my phone and get TeamHackSung and put al my mods in to that....maybe that ROM is more stable for mods?

I'm been having problem with my battery ever since I flashed the revolution HD 5.5 room
My battery drained much much faster and also the phone gets really hot, much faster then before
what I did is: I flashed the revolution HD based on sense 5,5 after I had the older version of the room.
Then I flashed my backup I did before I flashed the 5,5, and still had the same problem.
now I tried flashing the revolution HD 5 HD (not restoring a backup) and still I have the same problem, I think it's even worse.
I want to try one more thing , which is to wipe every thing (with the recovery) , I mean wipe: Dalvik cache, cache, data, internal storage and system.
and then flash the room from a USB .
my questing is if that is ok to wipe everything like that and if its not going to ruin anything,
One more thing, if this isn't going to work I plan on going to the store which I bought the one from and ask them to install the international RUU (there isn't one published) and bring the htc back to stock, I don't have warranty and they said they can do it for me but the thing is
they said there is a chance that the phone won't torn on after this, and if that happen they can't take responsibility , and well the phone is history,
my questing is if this thing really can happen and if I should go for it?
I will really appreciate the help. thank you
and sorry for the bad English
