Alright Nexus One boys, I have a decision to make.
I currently own the Samsung Vibrant. Great phone but here are some problems I have with it:
- The feel of it. I absolutely hate the plasticky feel of it
- Samsung support - need I say more?
- Believe or not the display. the sAMOLED is nice, but the brightness is just too much on my eyes
Someone is offering a NEW nexus one for t-mobile to trade for my Vibrant.
I know the nexus one has a nice build, and the crazy development for it, but is this a good deal. I don't know of the battery life for the phone or anything. I know you are all pretty biased, but please help me make the best decision I can. Should I do it?!?
My brother has a Vibrant and its nice don't get me wrong, but we have conpared it with my Nexus and I win mist of the time. Nexus has a better build quality and the development on it is far greater than Samsung.
I would make the trade in my opinion. Good luck.

I had a Vibrant, and I loved the screen, but I hated Sammy's botched software and the long wait for Froyo, so I traded for a Nexus One. The only thing I miss is the screen(well I could do with out that silly trackball), but it sounds like that may not be as big of an issue for you. I don't regret trading, so I'd say go for it.
I bought a n1 and plan on selling my Samsung Captivate because of these reasons:
1) Non-functional GPS on the captivate/vibrant - it MAY work sometimes, but you cant depend on it
2) LAG FEST - even with lag fixes (voodoo, oclf, etc), it still does not feel as snappy as other android phones
3) slow development - yes, the phones are new, but it really is taking off slowly.
The super AMOLED screen is nice (especially in the sun), but it SUCKS battery.
Only thing Im worried about is the not-as-responsive touch screen on the nexus one
hmm, it seems I might end up going for this trade.
The only thing that is of concern to me now is the battery life. It wasn't great, my vibrant did get me home after a 8 hour day with 70% battery life left.
I know battery has been a problem on the Nexus - how much juice are you guys getting out of it, and is it good enough?
Which would be your recommendation people.
I currently use a ICS port of miui .
Upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus from the Nexus One. World of difference my man, if you don't mind the increase in size I'd say do it. Its all of the benefits of vanilla android + 720p screen. I got mine on Verizon therefore LTE as well.

Its not the size i am bothered about. Its the experience. GN is supposed to be good but its camera was heavily criticized.
Am looking to remain in HTC build devices as for many people have pointed out about not liking plastic feeling of samsung devices.
HTC one S or X

I just recently retired my Nexus One, too. I loved the phone so much but its hardware flaws made me part ways. The 200 MB for applications really caused me to give in. I could only transfer so much to my SD card!
I REALLY wanted a Galaxy Nexus but times are hard for me economically at the moment. But I did have an upgrade on my t-mobile account and I noticed the Nexus S is now free with 2 year extension at best buy and ordered it. I received my phone this past Friday, immediately rooted it, put a custom ICS ROM, and loving it thus far.
It's hard to believe the Nexus S is like a year old but people consider it outdated already. I'm thinking I'll probably buy the GSM Galaxy Nexus by the end of this year when I work a bit. Until then, the Nexus S is more than enough.
I "upgraded" to the nexus S a few months ago, really couldn't stand the cheap and plastic feel of the phone, so I sold it and went back to the N1.
A few weeks ago I bought an HTC sensation, and I'm now running Opensensation, very happy so far with it. Build quality is superb, and development is getting very active for CM9.
I'd really like an HTC One X, but the device is so new that there's no aosp development so far, and I can't stand Sense.
I just got a great deal on a Galaxy SII, so my Nexus is going to spend it's last few days as my phone... it will live on in my wife's possession unless she decides she must have a physical keyboard.
I thought the 200mb onboard limitation could be circumvented by using something like Mounts2SD and a class 10 microSDHC card? That's what I've been doing, anyhow. I really do like the Nexus One -- it feels rather solid and metallic. A bit small, though.

Hi. All have had my my note for little over a month now. And Ive advertised it on gumtree just to see what people would offer me for it. I've had an abundance of people offering to swap there one x for my note. And all I want to know is it worth the swap? Thanks in advance.
Well it kind of depends on you personly i love the big screen on the note. But ofcourse we have to think of the extreme preformence on the one x. In my opinion the deal is kind of even but not worth it due to the screen and changeable memory card. Sorry for my bad english

Hi =) it all depends on personal preference really i was torn between the note and the one x but upon reading a couple of issues with the one and my sensation xe having loads of problems within a 6 month period i went for the note and haven't looked back. Last time i checked i was put off by the screen issues with the one x - people said it was flickering, scrolling effect etc and htc said they would be fixing it at some point and i really didnt want that to happen on my device. If you find your note is too big then as ive said its down to choice but check the one x forum on xda if you plan to and have a look at some of the issues.
I agree with you both. The main factor for getting the note was for the screen and I think it is still now the best screen on any phone . I love the s pen as well and use it frequently. The next phone I would 100% go for is a galaxy s3. But first that means getting rid of my note and beats studio headphones first which will be a pain. Ohwell thanks for the advice guys will bump your thanks meter up
The answer is "no." People forget that the Galaxy Note is a different class of device.

I think that should answer your question...
I tried to make this trade on Craigslist a few weeks ago. Thought it was a done deal but the guy flaked on me at the last moment.
I'm kind of glad I kept the note but I think that's an even trade. They sell for about the same on eBay. The 32 gb is a little more expensive.
If you mildly OC (CPU and GPU) the Note you get the same performance as the One X.
Then you can UV so it consumes less battery.
And thanks to having 2 instead of 4, I think the NOTE sips less battery than the One X for idle/low power activities.
So the difference really comes down to the screen size (man enough to handle 5.3), the use case (S Pen + GLONASS vs Better camera), the quality (Though plastic, the build qualities excellent, which cannot be said for OneX) and finally the community (it is very very hard to root and unlock the bootloader on HTC, unless you use their UnLocker Tool which is very flawed).
To me its no contest, the NOTE is the superior device. The Tegra3 is sneezable... but A15's wont be.
DON'T
The hox is just plagued with too many issues and the biggest is the loose wifi antenna. I tested three units on three different stores in HK and all had the same problem of gaining signal strength when applying pressure on the upper right hand portion of the screen and losing it subsequently once you release. I came from a galaxy nexus and this note is just so exciting to use. Size is everything, a 4.3" suddenly looks puny compared to this.
Hello guys.
I currently own a Nexus 5 and was a proud owner of a Samsung Galaxy S3 and Nexus 4 also.
The question I'm going to ask came into my head when my friend at work showed me his Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.
What I instantly realized when I picked it up is the z3c felt heck of a lot more snappier and felt like its touch responsiveness was better.
I also noticed a huge improvement on the nexus 5 coming from the nexus 4 back in the day.
There was a test about half a year ago(?) measuring every smarthphone's touch response time. It was at the time when the HTC One M8 had been released I think(?). The One came in first with 40-50 ms, the Nexus 5 was measured at 75ms along with the iPhone 5s.
So my question is how's nexus 6's touch response? Is is better than the N5 or even the M8? Also in the reviews, or anywhere basically, why is this not a talked about subject? I mean it's like one of the most important things for me for a device to be really snappy and responsive.
Thank you,
Daniel

Never felt the n5 was unresponsive. I cant tell any difference between this and the 5 either.

I never said it was, I just said the z3c was more responsive.
I've messed with my sister in law's z3v, Idk if that's the same as the z3c but the N6 is just as snappy, if not snappier. It's running a very lean version of kitkat minus the slight Sony and Verizon crap.
I just grabbed a 32GB Midnight Blue Nexus 6 from Amazon for $250, and it should be here in a couple of days. It was kind of an impulse buy, so the next day did some research and saw a bunch of problems people had with it. Things like expanding battery popping off the back, bad battery life, the screen burning in (AMOLED), screens cracking/breaking randomly, and other such things. Thing is, the phone came out a year ago, and I wanted to know if Motorola/Google has made new models to fix these or any other problems, and if so, my chances of getting a good or bad one. If it matters , Amazon was selling it directly, not through a third party. Before I ordered the Nexus 6 I had a Moto G (2015) 2gb/16gb on the way, so I have to decide between these two.
Side Note: If anybody knows of a good case, please let me know.
The phone has zero problems. Don't read into the few people with issues when the phone was first released. Let's put it this way, the nexus 6 is so good I returned a nexus 6p even with the marginally better camera. Root, rom, kernel this beast and let it fly. It's an amazing phone. Last true moto quality phone before lenovo acquired them.
I paid more than twice that amount a year ago for mine and I still haven't found a replacement that doesn't feel like a step sideways. I've been very happy with zero issues.
I've tried a few cases and always come back to my Ringke Fusion.
Nexus is a nice one especially when it's on sale now. The only one thing i want to complain is the low screen brightness

It's still an excellent buy. With Marshmallow, battery life improved for me which was the only negative point of Nexus. I see this beast holding up well going into 2016 and possibly even longer
With the price sales, it's a great buy!
I paid $489 last May and don't regret it one bit. It will be a fast, awesome phone for a long time.
Is the Nexus 6 a good buy?...................... Absolutely!
the question is.... are you willing to go stock??
hahaha.. i doubt.. ull be flashaholic when u get this
definetely a good buy..
I own one and plan to buy one more for spare.
It's interesting. I guess the 64GB models are more popular, as I won't be receiving mine from Amazon until after the new year.
