Ok, so I've been jumping back and forth between Fresh, Darch, and Damageless, but they're all getting so close now that I cannot decide. Could someone help me sort this mess out?
Could I get any major differences between the following ROMs:
DamageControl v2.07
RegawMOD v2.1
Fresh ROM 2.0d
DarchLegend v5.0
I would like the ROM that is the fastest and has the most free space. I'm guessing all of these have the new LWP with SenseUI, but does one of them have better compatibility over the others? Oh, maybe I should have mentioned that I'm using Google Voice so VVM is pointless. I also don't plan to wired tether (if that matters), and I never really use any HTC widgets other than the clock and calendar.
Next question: Which live wallpapers work best with Sense? Any suggestions welcome!
Another question: Apps2SD - Is it worth it? Which of these ROMs have it set by default? I'm getting very low on free space. If I did a Titanium Backup restore would it install all of my apps to the SD card if it was setup for A2SD? Also, where is the official guide on how to set up your SD card for A2SD?
Thanks for any help!

My Themed one is really fast, and has a lot of free space,
BUT
Every single one of them are great ROMS!
Try them all out first and decide which best suits you

They are all great roms, but I would recomend DarchLegend. It is honestly the best rom I have used in quite a while
Id go with darchlegend if you want friendstream and a really snappy rom xP darch has some great work. the other roms are all pretty nice ive tried them all personally if you want vvm id go with a damage or fresh rom

It's a matter of personal preference. Flipz has done tests on all the ROM's and they all run about the same. Everyone has the opinion on what they perceive to be the fastest.
If you want something that will, IMHO, run faster download a ROM that has sense stripped from it. You can find alternatives to clock , weather and calender that do not need sense.

Google Voice from the market did not fully work for me on DarchLegend. Everything worked except placing outbound calls. When I chose google voice to make an outbound call, my real cell number was transmitted to the called party instead of my GV number. The little "call them call you back" part of GV did not work. The rest of it did, like voicemail, text messages, and so on.
I have found Fresh to be the most complete and least buggy of the ROMs.
Flipz gets my vote!!! Although, I've been flipping back and forth from Darch's to Fliz's for quite awhile now....landed quite nicely on Fresh 2.0d

I tried this one but kept getting the sign in problems when I would boot. Is that supposed to happen on this ROM. I really liked it otherwise.

I'm not going to lie regaw is right... his is AMAZINGLY fast, and it left about 90mb out for me all the time... I would still have his on my phone, but it seemed to drain my battery... My phone would only last 2 hours compared to my 5 hour battery with DC. IDK that's just my 2 cents.
Can anyone help me with the A2SD stuff? I cannot find a thread on it anywhere.

I second that. Fresh 2.0d is my daily rom. DarchLegend is pretty good too. And Nexusmod/Starfield are good live wallpapers.

I agree with this. Fresh 2.0d has been full release quality.
^ what he said.
Flipz' Fresh 2.0d has been a winner for me. It has all of the necessary stuff, minus the bloatware, and has run problem free for me. Also, my battery life is waaaayyyyyy better than the stock ROM. I used to have to charge my Hero about once every 12 hours, and now I only have to charge it every 24-36. (based on a few hours of web, steady texting, and minimal voice usage)
I agree. Fresh is probably the best in my opinion.
I've tried Regaw and DamageControl and found Fresh to be the least buggy/most reliable.

I had problems with DamageControl randomly rebooting all the time and I couldnt stand that.
my thoughts
Ok heres the deal, ive used damage, flipz, darch, and treve, and regaw, all of the roms are all sick nasty to me, i mean no rom is perfect, but all of these come close. I go back and forth, right now i just put the regaw on my rom yesterday, did a couple of fixes and my phone hasnt died yet. Im using the regaw themed. Its fast and for some reason his rom gives me better sig in my house, idk why. But give regaw themed a try, also i love the gray espresso. So nasty. Im a rom freak, so i flash different ones everyday.
I like the DARCH rom the best because of its LEGEND's features
and the new version(v5), If any bugs there just minor. NEEDS MORE THEMES THOUGH!
.
yea im also curious on how to set up AS2D

If I wanted to root my G1, but retain the stability of the Tmobile ROM, which would be the best path to follow? Reason for rooting is for the tether ability.
I LOVE the Hero interface, but it sounds kinda dicey on stability. Lag doesn't concern me too much, as long as it doesn't affect calls.
I need BlueTooth to sync to my car stereo (actually not sure of the stock ROM does that, got my G1 yesterday). Another must is the WIFI. GPS is a major gravy item, but not a must have. Really diggin the Bubble application. Would love to have a cooler looking clock like I see on Hero, but the retro from the market is not bad.
I don't really care much about playing music, and I will probably never use the camera.

Cyanogen's latest non-experimental builds are probably your best bet. They're fast, stable, bluetooth, GPS, and of course WiFi.
If you want the awesome Hero Clock, look on the market for Beautiful Widgets or Weather Widget - donate for $1.49 or something like that.

First...welcome to XDA, second...just make sure you don't fall victim to useless Threads or Post (Like most Noobs do) without doing some extensive searching, pretend your a Ninja creeping through the Forums learning and observing and when you feel confident...Attack!!! (Meaning make your Thread or Post) Clearly I'm not talking about this Thread as you posted in the correct section...so on to your question, you say you want stability well look no further than CyanogenMod v. 3.6.8.1 but if your feeling edgy then upgrade to CyanogenMod v. 3.9.1...obviously Root your G1 first and then flash Cyanogen's Recovery Image v. 1.4 to complete the ROM. Everything you need is here in XDA-Developers/Dream...have fun.
P.S. Since your a fan of Hero also, once your done everything I recommend flashing the Dark Hero theme.
Im kind of a fan boy myself i would say try haykuro's 5.0.2h or g build they stable and are the best looking roms without needing a theme or skin. Features are great its way to go if you ask mr or try his ion rom its fast and very stable but you lose features like exchange and a pdf viewer, etc.

cyanogen's rom is the best very stable n fast.
Recommend the CRC1 Based ROM here Or cyanogen!
I appreciate all the suggestions. I am still waiting for my SD card to arrive I am receiving an 8 gig card, what partition layout would best suite Cynogenmod?

fat32, ext2 (upgrade to ext3 using upgrade_fs command in recovery console). You can throw in linux-swap but you'll have to configure it your self with a a2sd script.
What size for each? Can I not start with ext3? My desktop is running Ubuntu.

Use gparted. Ext3 should be about 600-700mb so give the rest for fat32. You must start with fat32 and then ext3. Must be in that order.
I recommend the Rogers Roms, they are designed for the Dream (G1) hardware and have the HTC Dialer and Exchange support (which Cyans will probably never have). Are super fast and stable.
How does the HTC dialer differ? Is there a "best" Rogers ROM?

bump for an answer to this?
Best rogers rom is Soulife's... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523608
HTC Dialer looks up contacts as you are dialing, it's really slick. You can type out a name via the numbers, or a number, it'll sort and bring up the matches from contacts. Soulife's rogers is MEGA stable, no force closes, lightning fast with the bonus features like Exchange and HTC Dialer.
Plus there is a version that doesn't require the new SPL if you wish to not risk a brick. In my opinion, this outshines Cyan's.
It comes stock with normal/factory theme. If you want there is a kickass Hero theme available as well for the ROM.

Cyans roms have exchange support through an app called Work Email (pulled from a MyTouch), even in the stable 3.6.8.1 build. Although, 4.0 Stable is just around the corner, and its been significantly improved since the last STABLE release. Depends what you are looking for.....I've become somewhat fond of Cyanogen's constant updating, but the choice is yours....+1 for open source and CyanogenMod STABLE release

Work Email is not a real exchange a solution. It doesn't sync contacts or calendar.
You can get replacement dialers as well that also serch contacts when dialing... Its certainly one feature I miss from my N95 along with fast global search. I used an app once which enabled global search on the homescreen and it worked like a charm, sadly I've forgotten what it was called as I now use QuickDial for direct calls, texts and as a shortcut home for most used apps.
Going back to the original question though I haven't flashed any Hero ROMs due to speed (no matter how tempting it is!) so can only vouch for the Cupcake releases. As it stands Cyanogen's is the most recent and stable out there however Dude is also returning soon. If I had to pick one ROM then it would be Cyanogen's (Stable version, unless you're happy to deal with issues then pick the Experimental one).

Hey guys,
I'm new to rooting and xda, I'm thinking about getting a Hero rom on my g1 but I have read mixed reviews about lag etc..
My question to you is, are you running a Hero Rom? How does it perform? Which Rom would you recommend?
Thanks, I love you guys.

hero roms when compared to cupcake roms do tend to lag at time. esp when the phone has been runign for hours or days without restart.
in my opinion i think drizzy 2.2r2 is the best hero rom for speed and is pretty stable. i am waiting for drizzy to finish his 5 or 6 rom project and he told me that dopod will be the best hero rom to date.
some hero roms tend to have missing sms...esp when receiving.. i recommend again drizzy 2.2r2 for speed but jacxhero 1.4 or 1.2 is the best as far as stability goes in my opinion. stability meaning lack of bugs. esp in the market and sms issues. but jac hero roms tend to run slower than drizzy.
I'm currently running JacxHeroskiv 1.4 (gotta love the name ) and I find it's fairly useable if you use a 64mb linux-swap partition on a Class 6 card. I only populate one screen, this is just a prefrence, if you use more than one the homescreen is still useable, but sometimes you will swipe and it wont change screen for a few seconds. Battery life is poor. It must be about 3/4 of what I get on Cyanogen Mod, but I can live with that. One of the problems with Hero ROMs is that they are made for a phone without a keyboard. So there are lots of apps that don't rotate and there are issues with the virtual keyboard and hardware keyboard which are ver annoying. If you can live without bluetooth and LEDs (they are working on LEDs) and a slightly slower phone it's worth a try. Just make a nandroid backup before hand.
My advise for the moment is wait from Drizzy Drake's "Dopod" ROM. It's based off and upcoming update for the Hero itself, to make the phone more smooth and add a couple of extra features. We don't really know when it's going to be out but I'm guessing it will be here in a couple of weeks.

According to his latest Tweet it will be released today, he is out running around paying bills, you know the normal stuff people do that have life's, unlike most of us
It's a sad day in my life when I wake up and the first thing I do is check xda for ROM updates! It's Saturday for gods's sake!! I need to get out!
Anyway
I'm running Jac's Hero 1.4 and love it! I'm not one that cares for colors (theme's)
I get NO lag or htc or loading in 4 days since switching to 96mb Linux-swap and swappiness at 60. Love them settings!
SUggest you get it if you want bling and don't care about bluetooth not working
I got back and fourth between Hero and Cyan builds. Check my signature for build types.
My opinion on Hero is this...
It's good to try out and play around with but I wouldn't use it as a primary rom for your phone. In other words... it's good to flash if your bored and with time to kill. I've never had it on my phone for more then a day or two. If you want fast and stable then go for the 4.0.1 Stable Cyanogen Rom (or the updated version depending on when you reference this and since he's updating all the time for improvements) and you won't regret it. Since your considering Hero, I'm assuming that you've already partitioned your sdcard with the ext format. This is a requirement for Hero roms but it optional but recommended for Cyanogen roms (for apps to sd purposes). If you want to bounce back and forth between roms you can use the Switchrom Script with the Cyanogen 1.4 Recovery and it's painless to do. Even without a computer. Give it a shot... the worse that can happen assuming you get past the Danger SPL part is that you won't like one and can switch back.

Ahhh i know the feeling of waking up in the morning with the hope of a brand spanking new rom out there... i do it practically everyday... haha
as for my hero preferences, I'm running JACxHeroski 1.4 as well, only with my swap at 32 and it's running perfectly. been running it for a while and only gotten one or two loading screens.
ALSO, if you check out Teh Dust's Rosie color changer, you can change the entire system colors. it's pretty awesome. i've got a purple rosie and purple framework and everything.
That about says it above. Hero has some cool features I like like flash 9 and some other cool UI stuff. Like it was suggested above and on jac's post use as few screens as possible and I stay away from the weather widget, or I choose one and it usually does okay. For me after the newness wore off I wanted my speed back! Anywho...Go for it!
It's not worth it, not made for g1 no matter what they do to it. Lags no matter what you do. Get Cyanogen's or jacxrom's build.

I agree...it even lags on the actual hero itself. With that being said it's fun to show off and experience first hand without actually buying a hero. It's cool, Just not stupid fast or super stable as of yet.
And that's what I need...stupid fast! lol
Spent 10 hours today!
I am not new to this stuff...been modding iPhones since the first one came out and so forth. I spent 10 hours today working with Hero...JackHero..I think it was. I loved it! It took some work to make it work however...alot of work. The end result was i twas not fast enough for me. I thought i could comprimise becasue I had seen the demos and such...but I am more "Go " than "Show" Unfortuatly I could not get it as fast as I liked. other than that it is AWESOME!

I think the hero rom is the best one out there. The lag is not really a problem for me(using 92MB swap). However, the they are working on the update that will improve the speed. Nothing beats the Hero's UI!!
I just rooted my phone today after finally getting an 8gb class 6 so I only have one days experience with the hero Rom but so far I like it, the lag is there but I can deal with it for now...my browser is pretty fast and I get all things incoming so I'm happy as long as that works..eventually I'll start to mess with the partions to get it to run a little faster...I've been nodding psp's for years now so I know I could get the hang of this...

Not negative truthful, want him to know what he's getting into before he does it. Every build has bugs that's just the nature of the beast. Patience has nothing to do with it for me personally, I use my phone for a phone above all and I need something reliable.
my sum up is the second to last paragraph if you don't want to read everything.
i need help. i'm tired and on my last end of flashing roms. i flash at least 8 times a day a different rom to try them out and see which one is the best. so i'm coming out to ask everyone.
i don't want to really make a new thread about this but i just hate having to start all over with loading apps and getting my settings all ready.
my question to you all is which rom is the fastest rom out now. pure speed and reliable. i wanted to try the overclocked ones but not feeling to comfortable with my camera not working. i also have a garbage sd card so that doesn't help. i will get a real one soon but not for now. i don't really use my camera but you know when you get caught up in the moment and say oh look. and you take out the phone and bam"oh wait. my camera doesn't work" unless i can dual boot my hero with 1.6 with is super tiny????
i have tried all the roms already but i would like to hear from the community which rom do they think is the best.
i multitask alot where i will use the navigator and listen to music i will even go on a website and answer a texts all at the same time. i know that's alot asking from the hero but it's frustating to me when i'm in the car using the navigatoin and bam it closes on me cause i have alot of apps open.
another problem i have is when i get an incoming message using handset and trying to type on the keyboard. it is just so many words behind when i am typing and i just want a good rom that works. so if you can recommend the best fastest keyboard out i don't care about vibration but i do care about the sound. that's very important to me.
i don't want to name any roms out or call them out but i really like the ereis leak from damaged 1.1v but it is a battery leak on it that prevented me from staying on that rom....
what do you think of using the 1.6 rom that is bone stock and dry and adding stuff in it????
i need help choosing the fastest keyboard with as less lag as posible. i don't care if i have to buy it or not. i don't want to use swipe yet so i don't want to put that in the equation. i would like the fastest most stable rom here that can multiask and receive text using the handset pop up with no slow down. if anyone knows about the battery drain in the eris leak damaged 1.1beta and can fix it let me know....
thanks you so much,. i love my hero. and i love all the devolopers that spend there own time making roms for us to have the best experience posible. if it wasn't for them(there's alot. you know how you are) we would be sitting om hero's that can't send or receive mms, old 1.5 rom, buggy. battery dying in 3 hours. and alot more. i use 1.5 for about 3 days so i don't know all the problems the stock rom had but i know it's alot.

my sum up is the second to last paragraph if you don't want to read everything.
i need help. i'm tired and on my last end of flashing roms. i flash at least 8 times a day a different rom to try them out and see which one is the best. so i'm coming out to ask everyone.
i don't want to really make a new thread about this but i just hate having to start all over with loading apps and getting my settings all ready.
my question to you all is which rom is the fastest rom out now. pure speed and reliable. i wanted to try the overclocked ones but not feeling to comfortable with my camera not working. i also have a garbage sd card so that doesn't help. i will get a real one soon but not for now. i don't really use my camera but you know when you get caught up in the moment and say oh look. and you take out the phone and bam"oh wait. my camera doesn't work" unless i can dual boot my hero with 1.6 with is super tiny????
i have tried all the roms already but i would like to hear from the community which rom do they think is the best.

im running out the door but i wanted to respond to one thing you said. The AOSP 1.6 is a great rom, and you can reall customize it to your needs. Very fast. Im waiting for the 2.1 fully working AOSP, like you, i need camera. If you are looking to stay in 2.1, ive tried a few and found alyoious or whatever to be very relieable, stylish and fast.

honestly if you think 1.6 aosp is the fastest rom out there and you really highly recommend it i will try it out fully. i only used it for a couple minutes when trying to get the market place apps in.
what would you say is the cons about going to 1.6 from 2.1????

Cons? No lwp. (anyway, lwp's aren't great on our phones, kinda sluggish, amirite?) Make sure you flash the googlebits
ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5195520

Thanks alot. i really thank you.
i don't care about live wallpaper compared to performance. i read that thread that you gave me and i have a question.
what is the difference between that 1.6 and this
unless they are the same. i will do a research on what google bits is all about....
also can i have voice navigation on 1.6 using google maps??? if not i can just use sprint nav....
question. i looked some more in that thread and saw that some stuff isn't working. i think i should try the one i have first andd see what happens right????
if you want to wait for 2.1 to come out officially, i will recommend the pancake 1.5 rom without sense. it is by far the fastest, most stable rom ive run and with autokiller set to extreme this sucker flies.
you just keep on bring more and more questions in my head.
i thought 1.5 was just completely bugged out with the problems thats why everyone lefted???
i cant find the pancake rom with no sense. i will miss it but if the performance increase is huge then i won't miss it that much. lol.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=639278&highlight=pancake
enjoy! i have had zero bugs with this rom.
question. i had 1.6 in my mind and how it is the perfect rom and you popped up with 1.5 and i'm afraid to use it because bugs it came with before.
so would you recommend this over the 1.6 that is 16mb big????
and if so then which pancake would you recommend i would like to keep sense but if no sense is ALOT faster and MUCH BETTER with battery life then i will go stock....

go with whatever you wish but ive run this rom longer than any other. i personally don't like sense at all myself so it's your choice in the long run, sense does chew up ram so remember that. there has been zero bugs that i have found and i have a ton of free ram left and great battery life. the closest ive had to the pancake rom in terms of performance is fresh 2.0d.
ok. this is what i will do. i will download pancake 1.5 no sense and keep it on my sd card.
i want to try 1.6 to get it out my head if it is good or not. if i find any bugs i will flash over to pancake. lol.
last question. is your mms good and can i use 2.1 vanilla lock screen. i really like it.
i'm so happy.
i like how you said the closes you had to your pancake is fresh 2.0d but you flashed back to pancake so i'll also put that up there but that's if i am not happy with pancake.

no vanilla lockscreen im afraid on 1.5 but there is clear ones you can get on here if you search. mms has been fine for me.
thanks man. you have helped me out a bunch. i will try 1.6 to get it out my head if it isn't good. pancake it is. i'm so happy. i wish i could rep you.
i have a question. i'm loving 1.5 performance and the battery life is great.
i'm using the sense one because the stock 1.5 was alittle bland. but the marketplace is alittle dull
so i have wondering if there is a nice 1.6 build thats very good.
i also notice that multi-touch isn't on in 1.5 unless it is the keyboard i'm using. i'm i wrong???
Hey guys.
Well, I used to own an HTC Titan, and I would just spend days and days flashing and cooking ROMs like no one's business, but due to cost issues and general irritation with that phone, I switched to a flip phone for a while. Now, I'm back, on Sprint with a CDMA Hero and an unlimited data plan and I want to really see what this thing can do.
Yes, I have the Sprint 2.1 update and I've rooted it successfully. However, for some reason, everything felt a bit sluggish so I factory restored. (Don't know how to explain this, but kinda regretting it when I see all these custom ROMs floating around). Now, I want to get back into ROM flashing.
I wanted to get your guys' opinion on what ROM to use. I do have just one condition though, so hear me out before you tell me which one you love .
Simply put, I love HTC Sense. I've used my friend's Samsung Moment and I could not stand the UI. Sense, to me, has a sort of refinement I've grown to love. (just the way I am, I guess. So yeah, by extension, I don't want or need JiT. I've seen the differences in linpack tests and I'm not impressed enough to ditch Sense for it. Also, does Sense have to be cooked into a ROM by default or can I flash it in as an addon?
So what are your picks? I'd love to have something fast.
Damn another one of these. Go with fresh 2.od with the two updates. or with actually it depends what you like most of the overclocked roms are good but they have one setback when you push menu or the power button to get them to turn on there is a delay. but other than that there good and fast. I like zenexp slide port because it has this thing called mymodes where you can change your themes on the spot. It's hard to describe but it's good

This.
@OP - Fresh 2.1.2. If you want friendstream JsChiSurf has a mod to fresh that makes it work. I am running it now but am having issues with gmail not giving me notifications. Which is a HUGE deal.
Ill throw my rom in there. It has sense and is based off of fresh 2.1.2 but ovetclocked and fully themed. Not for everyone but its there.

I would say give fresh 2.3.3 a try it has the sense ui and lots of cool stuff on it and of course the dancing android bootscreen rocks!!.
Try fresh2.3.3. I've been using it for a week, and it's pretty cool.

Just wanted to say that I used to LOVE Htc Sense as well... I've reverted to AOSP based roms such as PureHero or Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 - reasoning why is that I feel that Sense really bogs down the phone and I feel like my Htc Hero responses a whole lot better and smoother as well.
Hello guys,
My dad has just bought a Google Nexus One. He had some HTC phones before and he really likes HTC Sense because it is very clean and simple. He likes the widgets (like HTC Weather, HTC Mail, HTC widget for news, etc.). I checked out the development section here on XDA but now i'm very confused. I would like you to tell me which is the best, stable and with good battery life, Sense ROM for Nexus One.
Thank you very much.
evil's NXsense ROM is pretty sweet.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=791151
It's a really stable port from the desire HD with all the latest bells and whistles (i.e, flipping clock, themes and whatnot) steps to instal are as follows:
1.) use AmonRa recovery to repartition to 1Gb SD-EXT/0 SWAP
2.)Wipe
3.) Flash the ROM!
4.) Reboot. (takes some time on first boot. be patient)
Any questions, pm me. installed this thing like a million times.
It's not really fit for mortals' daily use yet, but there is a ROM from the Desire S being worked on right now (as in, gingerbread-sense, tchyeah!)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995445
best sense rom
evil's 1.26 rom is the best by far. solid, best battery life ...even has some themes you can add.. good luck.
My grandad once had an abacus that he swore by. It was painful to watch as it took a whole day for him to work out his finances on it. He didn't want to use the calculator that i bought for him at first, but after a while he readily agreed that what he was used to wasn't necessarily the best thing!
Allegorical tales are the best
To put it another way, flashing a Sense ROM to a Nexus One is like drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa!

Allegories are nice, but there is absolutely nothing that stock Nexus ROM does, even in Gingerbread, that old Desire Froyo didn't do a lot better - and most important (for my wife who receives my Nexus soon) - better looking and easier to understand.
For anyone who's not into tinkering with his gadgets - I'd suggest any Sense ROM over any stock ROM. Nexus isn't different.
To the OP: If WiFi hotspot is necessary - DesireHD ports don't have it, so you're set with Desire port. Otherwise they both work quite well. The only major worthy difference I saw would be the browser - pinch-to-zoom would go out into window mode on Sense 2.0, allowing to choose between open browser windows. Nice feature.

WiFi hotspot is not necessary. I think i will go for Desire port. Maybe i will also try the Desire HD port.
LATER EDIT:
THIS EXPERIENCE WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE. I have followed a tutorial from theunlockr to Root the phone and install Amun Ra Recovery. Everything worked perfectly. After flashing the Desire Port ROM on the Nexus One and rebooted, the phone didn't passed the screen with a lock and the X from nexus logo (boot-loop). I found a ROM on the internet and flashed that (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614427) . Now my phone is working, got some com.android.phone force-closing but now it looks ok. I'm really scared to try it again. What have i done wrong? *sorry for my bad english *

you can always just put the wireless tether app on top of SenseHD if you want a hotspot, don't have to use built-in.

Don't be scared... you gotta *rreeallllyy* **** something up to truly brick your phone. As long as you can get to the bootup screen you can generally bring it back. Some ROMS are more stable than others, but they are (usually though not always) older as a result, because they've been tried and tested. Things like the Cyanogen Mod Nightlies are awesome and cutting edge, but not for the average consumer. I've personally don't like how the Sense launcher responds, so I never stuck with any HTC ROMS, but when I was testing it out I had some really good luck with the MoDaCo roms. You can get the prebaked roms on the site or if you pay for membership you get access to the online kitchen as well (where you can customize the rom before downloading it). Give the MoDaCo port a shot if the phone keeps crashing, and if **** goes down.... recovery image ftw!

is there any Sense ROM which doesnt require creating a partition on the SD Card? As in install in the same manner in which I install CM7 or Blandroid. I dont like the idea of having things installed over the SD card.
I have looked and not come across anything so If I've missed something, please point me in the right direction.
thanks
