Am I On the Latest Radio? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My current radio is 4.03.00.21_2
What is the latest radio if I don't have it?

if you have 2.1 update 1 you have the latest radio but there is a new radio coming out with update 2 and it suppose to fix some 3g issues

The latest leaked radio is 4.04.00.03_2. Came out over a month ago

You have the latest shipping radio, but as jerrycycle said the newest radio (leaked) available is 4.04.

Actually 4.04 is the latest shipping radio. Mine came with that and I got my Nexus 6 days ago.

Yeah, I havae the 4.04 stock as well, got the phone a few days ago. An interesting side to this is it confirms the phones are seeing running firmware changes in production that have not been ota'ed to current customers.

Good to know. I was completely unaware devices were now shipping with 4.04

Is there a repo where the newest leaks are uploaded? Like http://n0rp.chemlab.org/android/nexus/ for CM roms?

Looking for Telus Milestone 2.0.1 Shipped ROM?

Like many people it seems, I've been having an issue with the 2.1 update in which the phone powers back on by itself after being shut down.
I want to flash the shipped 2.0.1 ROM which should eliminate the problem, but I can't find it anywhere. I've been looking here:
http://and-developers.com/motorola_milestone:sbf
But it's not listed. Can anyone tell me where to find it?
Hi actually it has never been released ,you have 2 options you can restore a nandroid back up of it or you can simply flash any other 2.1 ( I suggest 2.36) sbf file and then do the 3G hack to regain your frequencies ...
The bug is fixed in the GOT leaked Thai firmware, which has the same 3G frequencies.
Newest Telus centric GOT mod has all these bus ironed out. I am using it for few days and I am loving it!

Good to know. I'm away from home for several more days and I'd love to apply this update but I'm going to wait until I'm at the computer I usually use ADB & RSDLite on (and which also happens to have all my spare nandroid backups on it).

Radio flash question

I upgraded my radio to p3droid. Today I flashed a new rom. So I was wondering if my radio gets downgraded back to original after flashing a new rom.
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
Don't honestly know the answer to whether the radio is flashed when flashing a new rom. I would expect since most radio updates appear to be separate update.zips that the rom doesn't upgrade radio. You can check under Settings>About Phone>Baseband Version. The latest I believe is C_01.3E.03P.
The radio does not get touched during a rom flash.
Thanks I noticed after checking original radio in Droid setting info and the version I have now. I forgot what the original version was but got it now. Thanks

I do believe the latest radio does require you to have Froyo... the earlier ones should work on any ROM. And the radio can be updated when you flash an update.zip ROM. It just depends on how the Dec has it set up.
The latest is C_01.43.01P - released with FRF84B
The one before that was C_01.41.00R - released with FRF57
And before that was C_01.3E.03P - the one released with 2.1 Eclair (ESE81)

Thanks. The only thing with new radio is it drops down to 1G alot. It sucks because it always seems to do it when I'm doing something important or downloading. Other wise it works much better than the original one I had.

I am currently on stock 2.1. The baseband since the update gives me a lot of issues at home 3g and switching to 1x. The new froyo rom should give me an updated baseband when it comes right? Otherwise I will have to get the previous basebands installed and root my phone?
Sent from my Droid using XDA App
No, I had similar question but when flashing roms it doesn't touch the baseband. I also have that issue mine drops to 1x alot also and is frustrating. But the older ones when I do searches on the internet it take almost 30 seconds for data transfer to start. The latest is quicker at that but the 1x drop is frustrating. To clearify again though the only way the baseband is updated or downgraded is by flashing it through an update zip or ota update. Roms don't affect it.

I should also add after flashing a rom, try reprogramming the phone by *228. It seems to help when I have issues after new rom. Also I installed a data disable widget. When it drops to 1x I disable the data connection for a minute or couple seconds and reactivate it usually returns to 3g when it comes back on.

Sprint radios?
How about using a Sprint radio on a Droid. IDK. I just got my Droid in the mail yesterday, got it rooted today and am working on checking out radio upgrades for it. I am coming from an CDMA HTC Hero200 from Sprint and with that phone we could put Verizon radio's and PRL's on them to up the coverage area and get better reception. My last one was a Sprint radio with a Verizon PRL and I had the best reception ever! Just some food for thought. If anybody has any valuable info on this I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Radio FW Question

Hello,
can i upragde only the radio fw version ?some people are reporting better battery life with the new baseband fw. And if so, can i flash back the old "downrev" fw back, if i had problems ?
From :
Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31.zip - OLD, standard in 2.1 Roms
to
Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25.zip - NEW in Chinise Froyo 2
I currently have the unrbanded wwe version 1.25.405.1 installed.
This is something I too would be interested to know. I have tried to do some serching but this is the first case I can find regarding the new 2.2 radio from the chinese rom.
I am currently on Puzzlerom 7.3
Once the v8 rom / v8.0.1 is stable I will go to that. Unless we have ourselfs a 2.2 froyo rom out before that. As I use my phone in a variety of ways and in multipule situations, I cant go without it for very long. 2 hrs at a time max.
Hope to be able to test things though ^_^
Peace
Just Made the update trough recovery .now iam running at the 2.1 Rom with the new radio firmware active from the new android 2.2 chinese rom. Actually I see no problems at all

All components are working fine (gsm/umts,wlan,gps and bluetooth).
Only the frst Time GPS FIX takes a bit longer after update.
Also, the battery life seems to be a bit longer and the handy seems
to be more stable during calls with active data connections.

[Q] Is the new Android Market available for stock 2.2 Captivate?

Hey, just curious. Is the new android market already available for the Captivate?
My brother has the new update on his Nexus S. But I still have the old android market.
I still have a stock 2.2 Froyo so I think it should work fine. The only thing i've done to my phone is rooted it.
So ya, is the new android market available for captivate?
Edit: Nvm, apparently its not supported on the Captivate.
you would be able to get it if you used the side load wonder machine or if you were on a ROM that supported side-loading.
I guess i'll have to grab a rom then! Thanks! May try CM7 i've heard great things, but im still a bit of a noob so....MUST RESEARCH! Or I may just see how Gingerbread is when it finally comes out for the Captivate.
Cabtn,
I have a co worker who just got a Captivate a couple of weeks ago. He told me yesterday that he had got an update of the new Market the previous night. And his Cappy is completely stock. I haven't looked at his phone info, but I suppose it is i897uckb2.

I just got a replacement phone myself and am running stock KB2 (rooted), and I got the new market myself last night as well.
Captivate, stock KB2, non-rooted. I got the new Market update last night.
Stock Capitvate KB1 and I have the new Market. So it works, though I am having issues with it. They are known issues though.

Gear Manager problems after KK update

Hi, after updated my Note 3 to 4.4.2, my Gear Manager is unstable, it hangs when I'm trying to enter settings or contacts, screen goes black and then i get a FC.
I have searched (like always) but haven't found any solution.
I have tried everything (clear data app, uninstalled GM, wipe my both Gears, nothing changed)
I have made a clean flash of KK on my Note 3.
I have also downgraded GM to 1.5 from 1.6...
I have no more idea of what I can do now.
Fortunately, both Gears works as they should but this GM issues drive me crazy.
Gears are running last ML1 (stock, unroot)
Any help/advice is welcome.
Cheers, Ros

I have the same problem. I remember reading somewhere that you need to have 1.6 for it to work with Kitkat, but it constantly crashes when entering settings. However i'm not sure if 1.6 has been officially released yet? I'm pretty sure it wasn't when i installed it 2 days ago, so hopefully it will have been fixed when it's hopefully very soon officially released, can't imagine Samsung officially releasing obviously broken software.

i cannot view exchange mails anymore on the device since upgrade to kit kat and new GM
Sounds like it is best to either use old versions, or wait for official. 1.6 and ml1 are leaks
I have the same problem..what I do uninstall gm 1.6..download gm 1.5 at samsung store..reset the gear n not restoring the gear bakup..I have to reset it twice n reboot the phone then it all ok now..im using official poland KK with null 19 (ml1) on gear..

Stick to official 1.5 version, it is still solid stable, just a bit slow when connecting, wait Samsung release official 1.6, I believe they is some issue on it, that why still not yet get release. Current appear 1.6 is leak version.
By the way I am under MK7 official release for my GEAR ROM, not the leak ML21 as well.

Having seen the problems that KK has brought with it, there is no way I'm letting that software anywhere near my phone or gear. I realise there are those of you that simply MUST HAVE the latest updates, even before they are tested properly, but this update IS NOT READY yet. The differences between JB4.3 and KK 4.4 are so minimal, its just not worth the risk or download at this time. As the old saying goes...."if it ain't Broke........"!!!

I never regret updates to KitKat and it is official, it is the best ROM so far I use in Note 3. The smoothness is no way any 4.3 ROM can compare. Also this KitKat ROM is solid stable. I don't have GEAR connection or FC issue, if you look against all facing problem is cause of using leak ML1 GEAR ROM + Leak Gear Manager 1.6
The only issue at KitKat is SD card writable issue which can be simply fix and that actually not really Samsung problem but instead KitKat change the requirement, any apps that had that issue just need the dev updates it to fulfill KitKat requirement.
The counterfeit S View cover not working is not a bugs but obvious Samsung did to stop the counterfeit.
