is there anyway I can reduce the screen finger printing mania by applying some kind of coating or getting a screen protector because its very annoying!
thanks

An anti-glare or matte screen protector will cut down on them a lot but you will lose some the wow factor that the screen has for clarity and sharpness.
all i've been doing is washing my fingers/hands alot lately at work. then i clean the screen with a micro fiber cloth, like a camera lens cloth. seems to keep fingerprints away for a few hours...then your hands build up grease again.
use the trackball exclusively.

Finger prints are driving me NUTS. Anyone have any recommendations?

Try an anti glare. The touch is smoother and fingerprints won't disturb you anymore.
Cons: display will look a little less "sharp" but you'll get used to it fast.
With such SP a "rainbow mask" noticeable on clear colors may stay for 3/4 days untill it dries.
I got the CaseMate from my local AT&T store, it does a good job with fingerprints and cuts down on glare with a reasonable reduction of screen clarity.
I am using the one from the T-Mobile store. Is a perfect fit covering the entire glass, only leaving a hole for the sensor and camera at the top.
It has a matte finish so fingerprints are a non-issue
yes, wear cotton gloves... nothing is going to prevent fingerprints. Some of them may reduce the effect. But if your eating chicken wings and tweeting at the same time your gonna make a mess!
i have privacy filter (ebay) and it shows little or no fingerprints.. its also a bit blurry like the no-glaze filter
Look for matte screen protectors online, I'm using one right now but lost the packaging so I can't tell what brand, but it costs about 12$. Sharpness is indeed reduced but its worth not wiping the screen all the time with a microcloth IMO

Ordered one. Maybe I'll do a picture review after the install tonight.

I've one from cellularlines, it's ok to prevent fingerprints but i don't like it's quite matt instead of glossy

I have a Otterbox Defender case for my Galaxy Tab, the screen protector that comes with that attracts much less fingerprints than the screen when it's naked or the Zagg invisibleSHIELD.
Wow. I feel cheap. I cut the tab off of the screen cover that came with the tab and just left it on there. I hardly notice the finger prints.
I like naked screen, more comfy, cold touch.
Wrapsol works pretty well too. Got the matte package and it works nice.
for me the best one, not only for Smartphones, is the ANTIGLARE from BRANDO

Got the one from the T-Mobile store last night, it's T-Mobile branded packaging, $14.99 and it works great, cuts down glare and fingerprints.
Just ordered the sgp oleophobic screen protector. Similar to what the iPhone has for repelling fingerprints.
I have some rather minor, what I would barely call scratches on the Nexus S 4G I bought. Do you guys have any personal recommendations for scratch removers that are safe to use on touch screen glass?

There's no safe way to do so. You'll take off the oleophobic coating and won't have an even surface left either. If the scratches are really small and fine, a wet application screen protector will probably hide them.

I want to increase the friction on my galaxy note 2 screen.
What has your experience with glare resistant screen protectors?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
They screw up the Image and overall vision of the display, especially on white background. I guess this is due to their light reflection capabilities
But the one I used was really increasing the friction. However it is much better without the protector.

I actually am using one right now. It helps out a lot with the glare, but it gives the screen an oily look to it on a white screen. I'm moving to an invisible shield today.
I am using a matte / glare resistant screen protector and I personally think that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Yes, it will cause some graininess to the screen, so that the whites are not as clear. However, the reduction in fingerprints and glare is drastic. One of the advantages that I like the most is that it allows your fingers to glide quite smoothly across the screen. Unlike glass or clear screen protectors, your fingers won't stick to the screen. People who use matte screen protectors swear by them. Buy a cheap one and try it out. If you give it time, it will grow on you.

Not only grainy, it takes away some of the color saturation as well. I used mine for 3 weeks and decided to pull the plug last night.
They are HORRIBLE
Sorry but i just can't stand using anything related with "Anti-Glare" or "Anti-fingerprints"

+1... everyone has their own experiences and I personally am enjoying mine. Does the screen look a little different; yes. Is it THAT bad; to me no.
I will say that fingerprint smudges & glare have reduced dramatically for me. I bought a pack of 3 for $6 so it wasn't breaking the bank to try them out.

I use one for my t-mobile Springboard that's installed in my car. In that situation it's a must have. It does impact the image quality but it's not that bad.

Hi everyone. I use a (non-official) flip cover. I ordered a screen protector but have yet to put it on. Here is my question-do I need it? The only things that come into contact with my screen now are my fingers & stylus. When in my purse pocket or car seat it is covered with the flip. I've been reading and do believe gorilla glass will scratch relatively easily with everyday grit and such. But with fingers & plastic tipped pen? What does everyone think?

Your risk of scratching is reduced because of it not being exposed all the time. But there is still a risk. Thats why people always want to use a screen protector. Why wait till its scratched when you can prevent it in the first place properly.

That's what I am thinking. I was just seeing what other peoples' thoughts were on the subject. Thanks!
Yes, particles could get stuck in between the screen and flip cover. I wouldn't want my screen exposed.
I love the large screen, but damn the fingerprints and smudges are so annoying! I've been looking into maybe getting a screen protector that has "Anti-fingerprint" or "Fingerprint Resistant." Has anyone actually tried/tested them? Which work to help with fingerprints?? I searched around but see so many conflicting results. A lot of them seems like people put on the screen protector wrong, and thus thought it was bad.
Wash your hands every once in a while lol. J/k I just wipe mine off with my shirt during the day.
My experience with screen protectors is that it only makes the issue worse, with more oils. What you are looking for is an oleophobic screen protector, I believe.

carry around a micro fibre cloth those work magic try it one wipe n everything is gone
ismooth does a fantastic job in hiding them.
You can try not touching your phone...
Seriously I don't know how you guys can even see fingerprints when the screen is on. My screen has buku fingerprints and oil from my face but I can only see them when the screen is off.

Fried chicken and fast food fingers would be my guess micro fiber cloth, alcohol lens cleaner wipes for glasses, or the bottom of your tshirt all work pretty well tho. Screen protectors, at least the film ones get all smudgy when you try to wipe them clean unless you buy oleophobic films. But the oleophobic coating comes off fairly quick with a few cleanings.

Get the ghost armor screen protector! They don't stick at all... Plus it makes the screen even easier to wipe! It's got a lifetime warranty and you can exchange it with a new one if you ever get a different phone!

That is one of the things I am still surprised at with the BoxWave screen protector I have. After months of use it still does not get dirty. Oh! I sometimes see a little dust or what looks like a oily smuge but I just use the edge of my hand and or a micro cloth or my shirt and swipe it across the screen once (not rubbing or polishing just a quick wipe) and it is back to new.

I second that. Big fan of Ghost Armor. I have the full coverage in a bumper case and I just give it a good once-over every few days with a microfiber cloth.

But wait I thought the alcohol based lense cleaner can take off the oleophobic coating of the screen over time. I know that eventually it does wear off but this reduces that time. I just fill up the small spray bottle with water and use micro fibre which does the job pretty well. I took off the screen protector today, although a bit worried, I figured wth at least I get to experience my phone the way I should, I feel like I was keeping it pristine for the next guy who owns my phone.

One hyphenated word, Rain-x.
Just apply about once a week or so.
It is not a preventer, just a reducer.
But it wipes off prints easier.
