I was wondering if it's possible to have the Desire's (and a few other of the recent HTC phones) lockscreen on the Hero?
With the Hero, when you unlock the phone and slide the bar down, it pulls down the wallpaper as well - whereas with the Desire it's only the bar (at 00:27).
I know it's a very minor 'feature', but it'd be nice to have it on the Hero.
Edit: Ah, I see there is a thread about this posted already. Apologies for that, feel free to delete this one.

I've searched and googled and found that the animation on our flipclock has been disabled in an update. Surely one of the geniuses at this site can figure out how to reanimate it? I don't mind the lag on my homescreen, and I'd love to have a flip clock that actually, uh, flips!
Also, are there any widgets that act as a simple scrollable dock? Like a 1x4 transparent box that you can add shortcuts to and scroll through them, like BetterHome? I don't much care for BetterHome's lack of widgets, so I bounce back and forth between HTC Sense and PandaHome. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a ton.
i would love to c that
Trust me iv'e have a poll up on MoDaCo and even raised it in numerous posts on here, no one seems bothered about it. I'm confident someone here could get the animation working, but i don't think they want too :/
if you guys could be bothered to search you might have found one of the at least four threads about the flip clock animation. and i think the outcome is pretty clear: if you want flip clock go back to an old rom that still had it.
i don't think it is that easy to port apps (esp. those from htc, that are not part of the AOSP) to a newer rom version. i am sure if it was someone would have done it, as there were lots of requests for this.
and if it is that easy, why don't you do it yourself?

Thanks for pointing that out but alot of Devs on here have achieved a lot so we assumed it could be done.
I thought with the horse power behind the Desire, and the N1 - that the flip clock animation would be allowed once again.. it is even on the HD2 if memory serves me correctly. Is it because Android has to handle multiple applications, and the clock would slow this all down? I'm honestly not educated in the subject, but I do enjoy my eye-candy.. it isn't a problem, really, I was just curious why HTC wouldn't add it to their higher-end Android phones also.
EDIT: Well this is meant for the Desire, not the stock N1. Sorry if I caused any confusion.
The flip clock widget is part of HTC's Sense UI, which the Nexus One doesn't have since it's more of a Google device than an HTC device (despite the two company's joint efforts in building it).

You know, I noticed that this question is irrelevant in ways. Since I'm really referring to the Desire..
I would love to see it also, but I think there has to be something missing in the build.Maybe taking a look to a HD2 build to see if there is something extra.
Some things are definitely missing in the leaked Desire ROM, like a full Flash player. I wouldn't be surprised if the flip clock animation will only be in the final version of the ROM, too.
I see other HTC models(HD,HD2,Touch 3g) all have that clock widget that flips over as every minute passes. Using Beautiful widget gives the same design, but not the same functionality(the eyecandy effect). Is there a way to manipulate that at the moment?
yes!
I too have been wondering if we can retrieve the Fancy "flip" clock again that just seemed to kill our poor slow g1's... But with the nexus i think it might as well come back! I think we've got enough speed
History: HTC took it out in one of the early hero updates.
Therefore unless they add it back we will not have it.
Weather Widgets Donate version has the HTC sense flip clock. Is that what you are talking about?

They want it to actually "flip", the above guy is right, it was removed in early Hero updates due to the lagging of the UI. For some reason that small eye candy caused Sense on Android to be mediocre, we can't have it back unless someone can recreate the effect.. because it is apparent HTC has given up on it for their Android Sense phones. Though, it may be able to optimized and added again.
From what I remember others saying is that that early build was never deodexed so it can't be used cross platform.
This is be done 100% by HTC and there is nothing we can do.
i saw this thread over in the vogue rom development. thought i'd bring this to everyones attention over here. 1 person confirmed that it does work but it needs some work. i thought maybe one of the android developers can take a look at it???
it's being looked at and multitouch is already available for many android applications, we've just never had support etc because of the whole resistive screen thing.. So we'll see what happens..
No promises, no timelines, let's not get silly on this thread with "I can't wait to see that!" style responses

man if we can get this to work that would be awsome!!
speaking of features that would be awesome
i was wondering if anyone knew the tweak for
sliding between android screens a bit easier (lik htc sense ui rosie)
Its smoother with sense ui rosie than regular android.
(i didnt wanna make a new thread for this)
This is why I started the thread. I knew it'd make its way over to the Android devs and hopefully go somewhere. Its cool but not enough for me to go back to WinMo.

Just letting you know enabling multitouch on a resistive touch screen does not make it as responsive as a capacitive one. It just allows more than one point to be registered at a time.

haha that wasnt my question. Capacitive screens use electricity or w/e in your fingertips; hence you barely touch and it recognizes. Resistive screens requires pressure.
Progress Multitouch on resistive screen is as fast as polar ice caps melting.
what i was referring to was how "MUCH" you have to swipe in order to get to the page on the left or right.
In htc sense builds
*you barely have to slide and it recognizes that you wanna get to another page.
In android builds (non htc rosie aka sense ui)
*you have to swipe alot (probably from one side of the screen to the other side).
I know this is possible because i've used panda hero theme (Which emulates sense ui). And the swiping was noticeably less resistant almost lik those htc sense builds i was refering to.
i think i have to make a video just to ask my question if im not explaining it that well.
Hello guys,
I am planing to get the HTC One and I d like to ask if the have switched back to the vertical scrolling in the app drawer like it used to be on sense 3.6
On the road using my HOX
It has indeed, with a twist, but yeah the scrolling takes a little time to readjust to.
Thanks a lot for the reply. I have read on a greek forum that there is an option to switch between vertical and horizonatl. I guess its not true, right?
I haven't seen it and not sure how it would fit with the clock at the top of the current one.
I think they are likely to have got the impression that custom ROMs will have this feature, certainly AOSP will but if someone can do something with Sense 5.0 remains to be seen.
