bootloader screen changed? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

i tried flashing a few different roms and decided the energy rom was the one for me, however, after flashing the Core Cell Series rom, my bootloader screen changed to a custom one from that rom, and since then, regardless of the rom on the phone, i always have the bootloader background from the Core Cell Series. So.... is the bootloader background changeable? could i put my own custom one?
thanks for any help in advance!

Sprint cdma custom rom upgrades
Let me repost. Everytime I flash a custom rom it flashes but it wont start up it sticks @ splash screen then shuts off and restarts the phone and does this over and over but it would let me flash a offical stock rom without this problem.
Can anyone help me please
Hold the "Volume Down" button and do a reset of the diamond.
It should get you to the SPL screen. Once you're there, plug it into your PC and re-flash the Diamond.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Thanks but I tried that and so many other thing Really need help love custom rom It's a need!!!!
two questions -
1. are you on GSM or CDMA? coz there are only limited ROMs here for CDMA. if a rom is CDMA, it will tell in the title, otherwise if not mentioned, it's GSM.
2. if GSM - do you know what HardSPL is?
It's CDMA sprint and this ish is killing me this means no goodies for me
And I unlocked using hard spl 0.57

Nearly all the ROMs here are GSM - I would suggest you try PPCGEEKS for more CDMA ROMs
Hope that helps
thanks guys got my prolem fixed i was flashing gsm roms and now I'm using the groove3 rom for cdma and it f-in A
Glad you got it resolved... May I suggest you pay closer attention to the title bar, it will state if it's CDMA - just for future consideration

You have to READ and understand first before jumping into Flashing ROMs. Out of all the ROMs out there... Flashing Dutty's 2.7 is the most confusing, especially if you are new to ROM Flashing.
First of all, you would have to flash HSPL (Hard SPL) or USPL (Universal SPL) on your device to flash Cooked or Custom ROMs. Do a bit of reading on these 2 topics on the forum.
Learn about Bootloader mode.
Then go through the ROMs that are posted on the forum. Go through their change log, features, tweaks and programs that come with the ROM. Usually most of the Chefs post Change Logs and Screen shots of their ROMs. Go through the last few pages of the thread to know about any issues and solutions.
Then decide on the ROM you are interested in and go ahead with flashing your deivce.
Now, regarding the current state of your deivce... I am not really sure what exactly you did.
Try Removing the battery and put it back.
While holding down the Volume Down button, press the Power button. Your phone will enter the Bootloader mode (Tri color screen, rather 4 clolored sceen with White at the end).
Download one of the Stock ROMs they are also called Ship ROMs. Please do not download ROMs with version number 1.56.XXX. They are the latest ROMs and since I am not sure what state your device is in, I would recommend you to download a 1.14.XX version Stock ROM.
Then connect your device while in Bootloader mode and run the Stock ROM. You would get your device back to the original state that you bought it.
Thanks

Read the instructions properly. Here's the simplified version:
1. Flash a stock rom (e.g. 1.14.xxx) with 1.14 SPL. They also include the stock radio.
2. Flash stock SPL 1.14
3. Flash a 1.56.xxx stock rom (with 1.54 SPL). It also includes a new stock radio.
4. Run USPL 2.5(!).
5. Run the included RUUWrapper and install dutty's rom
kieboy
3. Flash a 1.56.xxx stock rom (with 1.54 SPL). It also includes a new stock radio.
do you have a link for that?
sorry
I found it myself, but thanks for the help

startup picture in Energy ROM!

hello guys
I used the rom EnergyROM but not very good for me,so I'm flashing the rom from rRedux After Flashing this rom picture remains the EnergyRom
My question is How I erase this picture from startup...i dont like
thnx for answer please
I have had this same problem for a couple of months now with the TPC Elite Series screen. I have flashed at least 8 ROMs since, including 5 EnergyROMs, but the bootscreen will not change for anything.
Did you try to flash the splash screen? Some ROMs come only with the pure ROM, others with the radio rom & the splash screen, like HTC original. I installed a prog that manipulated the design of my ROMeOS2 and get a boot screen from bauners ROM ...
Search for flashing splash screen here...

Help!My Blackstone fails to accept a WM6.5 rom, as it used to the past!

Hi guys, I've been using the Energy roms quite often and I can say I did not fail to upgrade any of the updates. Today, my Blackstone "freezed" while I was surfing on the internet using opera, I took off the battery and I turned it on again but no success, so I decided to upgrade the rom (I was using the 25th Dec Rom). I followed the same procedure as always and when the installation ended the phone failed to boot. It reached at the stage where you are asked to enter the pin code, I typed it and then "nothing"! It kept frozen no matter what I was trying to do. I did several hard resets, I re-installed the latest rom (both versions) but nothing
Anyone knows how to fix this issue????
I need to say that in trying to fix this issue, I installed an old rom which was based on Windows 6.1 and the phone worked just fine, but the whole rom was so old, so I could not stay with that one. This means that the phone is not broken, right?
I also followed someone's here suggestion to go back to the original stock rom, hard reset and then install again the WM 6.5 roms. But again, this did not change anything. Is there a way to make the phone "accept" the WM 6.5 roms, as it used to accept them before???
Please help me cause I cannot live without this phone!!!
Thanks in advance for all those experts who are willing to share their suggestions with me!

Have you tried various wm6.5 roms, possibly as bad download? Obviously I'm assuming you have either HSPL on device or you re-used USPL before flashing rom?
Did you flash back to original stock rom & SPL? i.e. rom and SPL which was on device when you bought it?
I had the same problem on the same rom, flashed stock rom then back to energy's. Been working fine ever since
Did you do a hard reset after installing energy rom too?

Thank you very much for your response! I followed your suggestion to go back to the stock rom and spl and then flash cooked rom, although Energy roms still refused to install after all this procedure! I don't know why, because they have been working and installed just fine in the past. I suceed on flashing a Miris rom, not the latest one but an old one I had in my computer and fortunately it worked! So, according to the results of my experiment, my phone accepts WM6.5 roms, but not Energy roms! I will be waiting for an update of Energy roms to see if the new version will be accepted by my phone!!!
Thanks again for the assistance!

Thanks for the response, read what I wrote in my response to the other friend!
I got similar issues before, the phone just couldn't boot or hard reset itself after one or two days with many different 6.5 ROMs. Did an mtty task 29 then it looks good now for a week. If it still failed I would follow Fallen Spartan's suggestion to flash stock ROM+SPL.

hmmm, after returning to stock rom & SPL. What was your SPL in bootloader? Did you follow dummies guide afterwards and use USPL or HSPL before trying to flash NRG rom? Did you try a different rom? Whats your current SPL?

[SOD] Any Solutions? Task29 for Topaz Included

There's a lot of beautiful ROMS for our device but most of the new ones face one problem SOD (Sleep of Death) when the device goes to sleep you can't wake it up.
What "causes" SOD?:
* Bad Flashes
* Residual code for flashing you device a lot
* Newer SYS cooked in ROM
I've been searching for a solution and this is what I've found.

That's something which I have to do...
I'll downgrade SYS to 21896 soon which does not face SOD problem.

MTTY is a software that allows you to format internal storage before you flash a new rom.
By doing this you will make sure that no residual files or past informations are kept in the system. This usually fixes random crashes and weird behaviours on PDAs.
This is the DIAM100 thread but i've been using on D2 without trouble : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540290

It appears alot of risidual code happens with the HD2 ROMS regardless of AS or SD card ROM loading. I added to my flashing every 2 weeks or so - I am a flashaholic...

Hi,
(To make it short, follow the red sentence to format your phone to avoid roms problem.)
I hex-edited RomUpdateUtility.exe so it runs task 29 right after flashing ruu_signed.nbh
Task 29 formats your phone memory (=binfs). It prevents weird error appearance when you flash new Roms.
you stile need something to flash, it may be a radio, a splashscreen nbh or a blank nbh file (shadrack repack provide a tiny blank nbh).
Usually you don't need anything more than the file provided in the packs. so:
Just unzip and run task29.exe .
Eventually, you may replace ruu_signed.nbh with the radio/splashscreen of your choice.
When update status reach 99%, press vol down button, and keep it pressed until the phone reboot to the three color bootloader.
After the phone reset itself, your old rom will be gone, so it can't boot to winmo: binfs has been formated, your phone memory is clean.
if you fail to press vol down key and your phone get stuck on the white screen, just remove your battery, then try again: press power, and keep vol down pressed immediatly next, until the phone get to RVB bootloader.
When your phone is back to RVB bootloader screen, use the leocustomruu.exe provided with your favorite rom package to flash a new rom, or flash it from memory card using standard procedure.

To do:
remove the "reset" command from task29.exe, to stay into boot loader screen. Then, one should flash the new rom immediatly using their cook's flash utility.

I've tried some of these suggestions, but none work. I tried Task29 flashing a boot screen and everything was erased. I flashed a new ROM and guess what? SOD even with task29
If you want to try any of these procedures do it "At your own risk" task29 for Topaz will flash a custom boot screen and erase your WinMo.
Use it at your own risk
And you, got any solutions that want to share?
PS. I'm sorry for my english, remember I'm El Toro not "The Bull"
I have an ATT Pure and have flashed every ROM on here that is in English and not once has one failed to boot or contiunue running till I get tired of it. You do have to use HARDSPL with all of them. My only ROM issue are the ROMS that have everything in the Start menu instead of separate folders. It seems so disorganized but that is a different topic.
I just wanted to point out it must be your phone or you have not used hardSPL or maybe your phone vendor bugged it so you can't flash a new ROM.
Oh I also noticed you say it's and ATT thats unlocked. That could be the issue. Mine is not unlocked. BTW being unlocked would mean it is not an ATT unit any more right?

Thanks for replying, my pure is Hardspl'd with the latest 2.51 Olinex. It's unlocked meaning Sim Unlocked that I could use it with any Operator that uses a Sim Card, and yes I could flash every single ROM that it's posted in this Topaz ROM Development thread. I've been using Dutty WWE Official Test ROM since he posted it and no problems have come up at all. The "new ROMS" are the ones that caused the SOD even our chefs have suffered from this bug. So it's not the device.
I never had the SOD happen to me. And i have htc pure too.
Apparently, the great majority of us do not have this problem, and have never heard of it. As long as MTTY is run, I've never heard of anyone having a sleep of death issue.

Standby?
I've ran a few Rom's here from energy 6.5.5 to Dutty R6 - R10
with the latest 6.5.x builds, every once in a while after coming back from standby the device will be unresponsive. The touch screen seems to not do anything, but the hardware keys work fine, typically placing it back to sleep and waking it up again seemed to fix it... I have had to pull the battery once.
This didn't happen on the 6.5 builds, only 6.5.5.
Mostly running Energy Aprl and May releases.
I had SOD. I've solved it by changing my SIM card since previous one was more than 10 years old. With new one I never had this problem.
I'm using NhatHoa TopazRom 23563 WWE so far no SOD after 2 days of using it.
I flashed the Dutty's Topaz Sense 2.5 Holy Grail R10 |WWE| rom last night and get my phone goes into the SOD pretty much every time I leave it alone for more than 10 minutes. I have an HTC Pure as well. From the searches I've done it seems solving this problem is pretty much a turkey shoot. I just wish there was a concrete solution, as I kind of like being able to use my phone.

The same thing happened to me with that ROM but if you flash Dutty's Topaz Holy Grail R11 WWE it's fine no SOD
On the Touch Pro 2, Tilt 2 section they have a lot of theories about what causes SOD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648134

They said that Task29 is the solution but is not I'm posting the Task29 files if you want to try it yourself

Connect to PC via Active Sync/WMDC.
Execute Task 29.
When phone boots to "Touch Pro 2" screen (or whatever your splash screen happens to be), I hold down the volume down button while hitting the reset button.
Once I'm on the Bootloader screen, and it shows "USB", I flash the new ROM from the PC as I normally would.

After the phone reset itself, your old rom will be gone, so it won't boot: binfs has been formated, your phone memory is clean.
