This forum is only as good as the members who come here. No matter how many Moderators we have there is no way we can be in every thread all the time. Since becoming a Mod I have received a few PMs bringing members/posts etc to my attention and I always look into them.
I have not once received a request to make a thread about another Rom sticky. When we put these AKU 3.3 Roms out we make the threads sticky because we know that they are what you are looking for and the view & reply counts verify that.
While I do try to peruse the top threads in the Wizard Forum, I have a demanding day job and am a single parent with 2 teenage daughters. I have also added a Hermes (Cing 8525) to my HTC Harem and am trying to spend some time there learning about cooking those Roms. (BTW, my oldest daughter just loves the Wizard!).
As Moderators we are akin to the "Posting Police" and just like to Regular Police we patrol our beats.
Like the Regular Police, we can't be everywhere all the time or read the minds of those we have promised to serve. We count on the citizens to call us when we are needed somewhere that we are not.
Finally, just like the Regular Police we rarely hear "Thank you for your service" but often are told "You weren't there when I needed you".
Now I will ask you the citizens of XDA-Developers.com, when was the last time you called the Posting Police when you saw something that they needed to address? Did you just quietly say to yourself, "Geez, why aren't they here already?"
If you do report a thread/post/user, don't worry we never say "So-and-so was offended by your post".
Thank You
And your daughter has good taste. Now if only pappa would spend the extra flooz and get her the 8525 as well. Kidding...

Love my new phone but would love to get rid of the stock ATT crap.

Im a really new newbie. Its all foreign to me
Any way someone can put it into plain english?
Much appreciated!

If you can make it to Long Beach I'll do it for you no charge.
I'm in loma linda, but I'm taking finals this week and on spring break next week so I won't be able to get to it until the end of next week.
It took me about two hours to figure out how to flash my tilt. You just gotta read and follow the instructions, if you know how to download music and upload pictures to your mp3 player, then this should be child's play for you.
And if you really can't figure it out, PM me, I live in Hemet, so I'm not far. I reflashed my 8125, so it can't be much different if device-specific instructions are followed.
DUDE in all seriousness, if YOU learn to flash your phone and YOU end up doing it, YOU won't be such a newb.
Don't be afraid to learn. I can understand being scared to mess your phone up, but trust me and all the others here when we all say..
If you read the info all the way through, you should have nothing to fear.

Check it, (this was already mentioned. ) NOOB FTW!!!!!!
Extreme Noobs Read Now - I Did It!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A BLOND FEMALE EXTREME NOOB DID IT!
My friends said I couldn’t do it. Mostly my male friends. All my girl friends supported me, but the general consensus was being female and being blond, I would have a hard time. LOL Well, I started by reading, reading, reading and READING on here for the past few weeks and finally got my ATT&T tilt a yesterday. I read and studied so much on this forum, I was practically bursting at the seams to put into practice what I had been studying night and day for the last 3 weeks or so. I also want to say THANKS THANKS THANKS to this forum and all who participate especially the moderators and senior members who read and wade with suspicious eyes (will this be a redundant post, they think), but who also assuage with empathetic concern for the worn out and battered, but otherwise persevered noob. I DID IT! I DID IT!
Like all mentors, they try to instill in all noobs like me a virtual sense of responsibility and accomplishment by not giving up information so readily and thus fostering a sense of, ‘pull yourself up by your own bootstraps’ kind of reasoning as they have been there and done that and you have not. Depending on your situation, this can be either good news or bad news. For those like me with a fundamental understanding and an ounce of technical aptitude, it is certainly good news. For others, it’s an emotional roller coaster ride and I feel sorry for all who go through such hell. KNOW YOUR BOUNDARIES AND LIMITATIONS! If you buy a phone you have no business owning because you think it’s cool looking only to find out that it’s really meant for the corporate power user variety and those who possess a higher than normal level of gadgetry prowess, what do you expect? Add to that , if you’re not technically savvy enough to operate it and install everything, what would be the point because eventually you would realize all you really have is an expensive phone and how you keep wishing you could get it to look like the ATT&T tilts you see on you tube.
I THINK I AM THE MOST EXTREME NOOB OUT THERE AND I AM FEMALE AND BLOND….TWO STEREOTYPES IN ONE!!

Lastly, READ MY SIGNATURE
Well, this week has been fun with XDA. From my bans, to my sneaking back in, to me being caught, to everything. I'm just glad I have such great friends that've always had my back and always been there for me helping me along my path of teenagehood. Let's keep it gangsta as I give thanks to those who's presence I enjoy.
First and foremost;
I would like to thank:
@Official_Drizzy & @enatefox for being married people who have wives and kids and can't talk to other women because their married. BEING MARRIED SUCKS!
@Lalo for making me the #imppimp I am.
@Mom & @Dad for having me.
@M_T_M for always being there for me and being an amazing friend and a great person who always helped me out and helped me stay in line when I was being the bad boy I am.
@Mr Clown for doing the same and always being there to help me deal with M_T_M almost leaving. We were all greatly effected by this, but he helped me out a lot. Una grande familia.
@PurpleLlamaLover for being the first person to put my post in his sig. Also, for asking about my cat fluffy who died in an accident *wink wink*
@Ubnub82 for letting me use his account to talk to the Mods to try and get my account back when I was banned. I'm definitely gonna try to go to Detroit to meet up with you bro.
@Protomanez for calling me a bad boy when FallenSpartan subliminally said he banned me.
@FallenSpartan for banning me. Taught me a lesson. And dude, I have nothing against you, I hope it's okay with you if we cans still be cool.
@nebenezer for acting like he cared when hilaireg said he'd banned me for one year and permanently.
@hilaireg for making me look like a bad bad boy infront of all the Off-Topic people. Stop banning me for a year, your gonna hurt my feelings.
@djteotancolis for being the person who made it obvious to people that I was using a sock puppet account to still be on XDA. Thanks a lot man.
@egzthunder1 for really saving my dumb booty (from ORD . I promise to be a good bad boy.
@orb3000 for being one of the first people to talk to me in the Off-Topic Forums and Thread.
@Flar for making this amazing website that I waste most of my day on.
@Cyanogen for being a great developer who has yet to leave the G1. Thanks a lot man.
@Haykuro for all the hard work he has put into the G1 and the myTouch 3G.
@ChiefzReloaded for making all the great ROMs I love.
@KiNgkLicK for also making great ROMs and picking up where Drizzy left off.
@XxKOLOHExX for being a loser I can talk to when I wake up at 4am and can't sleep.
@Jaguirre1231 for being a great person, leaving, and coming back and being mean.
@JesusFreke for being one of the first devs for the G1 and helping make the first Android ROMs.
@Koush for making the ROM Manager App that really helps when I need something to fall back on.
@Amon_Ra for making the greatest Recovery Image ever, the Amon_Ra Recovery Image 1.7.0 for the HTC Dream. Helped with a lot of things when I needed it.

@Manup for making the first real Android 2.1 ROM for the G1, all the great themes, and all the hard work.
@Zac.Santer for being easy to find. XDA/Off-Topic/Three Word Story. Loll.

@Mariah Carey for being so fiine!
@Kimi_Chu for being a good friend and in my eyes, a flirty little cougar.
@+ Que PPC for being one of those funny people who could always brighten up a serious mood and who was a daredevil and painted his HTC Wizard.

don't know about the other stuff
Wondered were you were....The off topic was lonely....
Did your clothing line ever take off? I was serious about your business model and I was serious about offering my services to achieve this new level of customer interaction.
As usual, I will be having exams in about 6 weeks. The Brit accountants might be familiar with ACCA, and I'm facing the last two bosses in this game.
This is the toughest challenge yet, as I have forgotten most of my university stuff relating to one of the papers, so I'm taking a self-enforced hiatus until (at least) the 8th of December.
Stay classy, OT.
Well, good luck my man
You'll be missed around here

Good luck with your exams and ish.
-Hercules composed this post and threw it at your face to be read-
Good luck my friend. I have every confidence in you!
Good luck mate - hope it goes well.
Pro-tip from a serial procrastinator when it comes to last-microsecond studying for exams:
1. Prayer helps more than luck. Never been lucky, but have prayed and fasted for results and have been prayed and fasted over. However, examinations are not great reasons for developing religion. Jesus spent a few thousand years setting things up. Since you probably don't have Godly patience, an entire semester should do nicely.
2. Don't bother to score. Pass. I have learnt this during my limited (heh!) time spent studying. However, try your best, because if you just give up, you lost the battle before it has even begun.
3. It helps if you're smart-ish and can absorb things fast. This one is actually a warning to all you idiots who think that sakai4eva is distilling wisdom from a Divine Source® when it comes to being lazy and you can follow these steps to Success™ Remember, if you are stupid AND lazy, it will take miracles.
4. Know your material. It helps if you have an idea of what the subject is talking about, and is comfortable with the environment the subject is being taught. I have been training to be/working as an accountant for years. I have forgotten more about accounting that you have ever learned. However, if you're a Behavioural Science student trying to tackle that Thermodynamics paper, well, it's best to start early or refer to No. 1.
5. Budget your time. Sub-divide the chapters, finish ahead of time/schedule. This is because there will be WTF moments, and there will be OMGWTF moments, and there will be OMGWTFBBQIAGTDAHD and headsplode moments where you'd wish that you have a time machine of sorts.
6. Be ready for the OMGWTFBBQIAGTDAHD and headsplode moments. Meth helps in the short run, but (heh) other things will run. In the long run, you should have studied instead of hanging out in the OT thread. However, never let yourself get stuck at something/somewhere. Keep moving because a stationary target is easier to hit with a chalk.
7. Rewards yourself when you achieved certain milestones. For me, gaming is my kick, so I let loose when I did finish up my studies. My sister uses chocolate. No, she isn't fat. Much.
8. Get help. My mom comes over and help me stay sane, clean and healthy during the most unhealthy period of my life.
Well, I guess that should be it. General advise, I know, but it might help make your grades less skanky.
Last but not least (this might sound conceited at first, but hear me out), I thank you all for your wishes of good luck, but I will rue the day I need "luck" to get me pass exams.
Until my inevitably glorious return:
Stay classy, gentlemen
I just read the topic as My inevitable half-anal hiatus and was curius.
