My best suggestion would be to ask the author of the program you linked to, if he could lend you a hand in getting it to work for you.
From what i can see, thats for a nexus one, which does not have the HTCIME keyboard that they ported from a sense rom (What we use), so he will be most familiar with what was changed, and who knows, it may just work, or not take too much tooling, to get his skinning program to works for our phone as well.
Hope that helps some in your quest for skinning the keyboard.
I just threw together some lock screen rings from pictures I thought were cool. I don't have the time to do this much. You can post a request, but I make no promises I'll get to it - my life is really busy today. In fact, I may not ever do another. I'm just posting them in case someone else wants to use them.

I decided to start fixing some wallpapers to my liking and share them with the community. I'm just starting this so all I have at the moment is 18 wallpapers but I will update more as I go finishing them. Alot of the images r common one's that I'm pretty sure everyone has seen just that I changed them to my liking so I take no credit for the images other than the modifications I made to them. You basically got one of the main part down pack. Theming is one of the worst part and you got it down pack. Now it's just learning .xml
