I wondered if it was possible to get the full screen notes widget that HTC have made available for 2.1 roms, but for Cupcake 1.5 builds?? Seems it's the only thing that isn't available (tip calculator, today in history, dice etc).

Since updating to cm 4.1.11.1 with the new 1.6 donut I'm having some issues with apps that use google maps such as the weather channel, weatherbug, and my tracks. On all three apps, when the map loads there is a blank grid section in the lower left area of the screen. In the case of the weather apps, the issue is in the radar map section. The blank area is in the exact same spot on the screen for all three apps. However, the actual Google Maps app works fine. If I downgrade to cm 4.0.4, the apps work fine, so I'm assuming the issue has to deal with the new 1.6 firmware, but I haven't been able to find anyone else having these problems with cyanogen's rom or the stock one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Known issue which will be fixed in the next build:

After the My Tracks upgrade it worked fine until I clicked <Send Now> when I tried to send to Google.
I am running the latest Cyanogen Mod., 4.2.13
Will a HTC magic from Rogers be able to access and download all of the apps available on tmobiles app page if its using at&t?
Not quite sure what you mean by T-Mobiles app page.
The phone will run any app that is written for the version of Android OS it is running (ie 1.5, 1.6 or 2.0). Beyond that there are two main streams of the OS (HTC and Google). Certain apps depend on the HTC framework to run. If you have a phone with just the Google framework, these apps will not run. If this is the case and you desperately wanted that app you could flash a ROM that has the HTC framework, and it would run.
You can loads apps from the Market using the Market app. You can also load apps from the net, or from your computer via USB.
An example of this is the Canadian Rogers Magic, a 32a device. It is based on an HTC ROM which meant you got a nicer HTC dialer, along with some craplets from Rogers. When I flashed it to RA-IONv1.6.2H, which is a Google based ROM I lost the ability to run the nicer dialer, however the Google ROMs seem to run faster.
Ah ok I understand, I think i just called it the wrong name. Thanks man!
Hi, im not sure if there is any way to run aosp apps on our galaxy. Im looking for Calendar, phone, contacts and calculator. Thanks in advance.
Edit: think posted in wrong area, sorry. But any apps out there?

I suspect this thread will be moved, but I can offer some advice.
I mined out the AOSP apps from this Vibrant AOSPish JK2 v1.1 ROM:

I farted around with a few of them, but in the end just kept the Calendar, and Car Home. Contacts didn't seem to work (had a blue screen and just behaved oddly), Calculator didn't offer much. I prefer the AOSP Music app, but the MusicMod app from the Market is an improved version.
When I get a chance I would like to fiddle with getting the live wallpapers installed as well. Then I will proceed to never use them and eventually uninstall...
Stage UI 1.7.1-v1.0.33 is now available on the android marketplace for the following widgets:
Books
Email
Photo
Radio
Social
Web
Weather
Available, but cant be installed:
Contacts
Unupdated widgets:
Music (Technically not actually available)
Updater
The updater widget will not actually state that there are updates, you must manually install them to get the updated versions. Visually there seems to be little/no change, possibly just bugfixes
I've just got a Droid 4 in the UK (ICS preinstalled, just put my cut micro SIM in it, and it works fine). I've come from an XT860 (Canadian Droid 3) that had Gingerbread installed, and there are a few widgets that I used on there that I'm assuming were on the D4 when it ran Gingerbread, but have been removed in ICS.
I was wondering whether people have found alternatives for (or APKs to reinstall) any of the following:
News & Weather (I found a Genie News APK that seems to work ok)
Universal Inbox
Social Networking
It was handy to have the Universal Inbox; a single place where eMail and Texts would appear, and I could tap to read in full/reply. The Social Networking widget would aggregate Facebook and Twitter updates (amongst other services) and could be sized to 2x2, which was handy to put alongside the Universal Inbox widget on my home page. I've seen a motorola video explaining that these widgets have gone, and to simply use the Facebook/Twitter widgets, but they are a) 4x2, and b) a bit rubbish.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Cheers,
Steve.
