It works for me on my Diamond with MP4 movies encoded in H.264. Plays full screen in both WMP and HTC Album.

Ok its all good.. i didnt do anythin.. i closed my phone.. opened it again.. tried to replay the movie.. and everythin went well it worked on fullscreen also.. weird thing anyways
Which converter do you guys use?

you probably used the wrong video codec when you compressed it.

dont think so those same videos were previosly playable on 2.1!
@antikryst thanks
any ideas anyone? anyone else with the same problem?
my nexus is an at&t stock by the way
Yes, my phone too has the same problem. I had few files which stopped playing since 2.2 update. That said, I downloaded another mp4 file and my Nexus One played it perfectly fine. Weird.
are you on the new radio? the new radio has different codecs...
Same problem here man. I have about 11 movie's on my phone + every episode of King of the Hill. King of the Hill is rmvb so I use RockPlayer for those. When I go to the gallery in my videos folder it shows my 11 movies 5 of them have thumbnails and play and then there is the others that don't have thumbnails and don't play but the weird thing is I used the same converter for all of them and the same converter settings and they all played on 2.1 but now only 5 out of 11 do. Weird stuff
Get RockPlayer. It owns.

No it Rocks
I've got the same problem on my nexus one. I can't play most mp4 files and other stuff anymore. RockPlayer is not bad but the video decoding engine of RockPlayer does need more energy as the internal one.
Also rockplayer does not support streaming, so rtsp:// links don't work anymore.
Another issue is with the twitter and twitvid website. It will server a mp4 file (twitvid) of which the system player is capable of playing. RockPlayer is not available to play these files after opening through the twitter client.
I would be very happy about any tip to debug this problem.
Things I tried so far with no success:
Delete cache and data of:
* Gallery
* Mediastore
* Meridian
* RockPlayer
* YouTube
Currently I have a problem plqying all formats of videos such as flv,mp4,avi etcetc. It says sorry, video cannot be played. Why is that so? Any way to play the video? But sometimes it can play those formats.

Give more details about your firmware..
Also try some other player in the market

I've had a lot of problems after removing the drm samsung apps. When I freeze with titanium its fine but removing them really screws up media playback. Idk if you've done that but thats my 10 cents.

Moboplayer on the market works good u can try to play the video with that
Have you tried restarting your tab ?
I experienced those issues on DXJPE if i let it run for more than 1 day without reboot
this requirement of reboot has driven me nuts and started rooting and flashing endlessly.
yes, i also try the moboplayer, it's pretty good, and you can try rockplayer and vplayer,they are also great. but i find HD mkv files can't play on rockplayer, and play on the vplayer unsmoothly.
and maybe you can try some video converter, then convert your video to the right format.
My Tab plays ripped blu-rays perfectly fine (mp4 format). Look at signature for Tab details. I agree with poster above...restore!
my tab can play bluray rip 720/1080p mkv/mp4/wmv thru stock/mobo player without problem...
mobo is the best replace for the stock player which can streaming mp4 too..
Hello every one,
I recently (two days ago) upgraded my rom to ICS (Dark night 3) which i found simply amazing,so smooth and fluent, i actually wanted to thank the guy for his work on the developpement section,but since i'm new here i can't post there,so i'll just thank him here for his great job...
Well no return to my problem,i can't play WMA files,i had another rom GB i could play them perfectly,but the media player on this rom doesn't support WMA files,is there any solution for that?? (beside purchasing an app that play wma ,i actually tried the trial version on one and i really don't like it,it consums battery and i'd rather prefere the original music player instead)
So is there any solution for that???
What about trying winamp? Maybe it can play WMA.
Wait... are the files downloaded with tube mate WMA files? Because I also can play them with stock gb music app and power amp.

That's not a rom issue. BTW I found out that you can play files not shown by your player if you choose them with es file explorer (or another explorer). It's just very uncomfortable.

Actually it is a rom issue,since i can see the files,and when i try to play them an error message telling that the player does not support this type of audio file...
I downloaded Android File Transfer to my Macbook and was able to transfer pictures and music from my iTunes into my HTC ONE. I was also able to transfer a few videos to my HTC ONE but they could not be found or played after. Anyone able to help with this? They were transferred to teh same place the music was transferred but the music was found and could be played except for the videos..
Tried HTC SYNC but that one sucked and did not work well.

Try MX Player. They got converted into a file format the stock video player can't handle. MX is free in the market and I have yet to find something it wont play.
