Proxy with authentication? - Hero, G2 Touch Themes and Apps

Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched unsuccessfully for a while.
Basically, my WiFi internet is routed through a proxy, and I'm looking for a way to authenticate it. BTW, this proxy can be accessed by .pac file and via url.
I've tried AnyCut > Proxy Settings > proxy.eg.com:username : password, but that just gives an error...
Thanks, Piepieonline
Edit: put spaces to stop it being an emote

nope, there is no way to do that.

Hmm.. OK...
I hear the emulator can do it right? Could that be shoehorned into an actual device? I'm going to give it a try anyway...
Thanks anyway.

When I enter for example www.msn.com the connection process starts with locating then opening, then white screen ... Looks like I am connected however I do not show the web page. I am able to access Yahoo.com however. I cleared all cookies, did a SR and same problem. This issue happens just recently. The only place where I can see proxy settings is the connection tab, and the proxies are disabled.
Asfoor ......... = Bird .... thus the Avatar...
I tried the WiFi connection off of my home wireless and I am able to connect just fine to any web page. Only when I am on EDGE or GPRS / 3G when the problem happens and I can not connect to any other than Yahoo.com. ... Now MobiTV, XM, Resco radio are all fine. I can connect and fast i might add.
Only the Internet access where the problem exists.
Ok then my bad, try ENABLING the proxy if your on that. haha i knew it meant asfoor, because it's arabic

I think it has to do with the Mediamax plan... but what is confusing is that I am able to access www.yahoo.com and that... anything else renders blank page.
it has nothing to do with media max. i have media max and i can surf any website. try doing this, go to start, setting, connection, connection, advance, select network, choose media net, edit, proxy setting, unchecked the box "this network uses proxy server to connect to the internet". if that doesnt work try using another browser like opera mobile or mini opera. Or do a hard reset

Thanks for the tip about opera Mini. I am using as we speak and it is slick. I am wondering if there is a way to create a short cut directly to Opera instead of going through Java first! can you suggest a way? thanks again.

Script for logging into websites?

Hi,
The wireless network we have at work requires us to first connect to the network (the easy part), then open a web browser (Opera) to login. In my Opera under Settings->Privacy->Password management, I've saved my username and password, however it doesn't auto-fill the form like it should on other websites. I've also had this problem on my laptop (auto-fill doesn't work), so was wondering if there's a script or software or something for me to automatically login instead of having to type in my username and password every time?
Looking at the login website, it says it's a Cisco Wireless Network (presumably that's the router used).
Thanks

Did you try for example a MortScript-based solution? (I don't think a GET-based solution would work, instead of the default POST-based one. You can, however, give it a try too, if adding the full URL, along with your l/p, as a bookmark, isn't a problem.)

The POST-based is probably the most simple solution actually - going to give that a try now on my laptop. As far as MortScript goes, I think it'll probably work, but I do need to get around to learning it first.
Quick question without going into the MortScript documentation - how would I go about either calling Opera, or ideally, send a http command through a script? I'm an engineer and part of my job IS programming, but don't program for any web-based stuff so a bit lost there...
Edit: nevermind, reading the MortScript manual now, seems fairly easy to follow, will try to figure it out myself instead of wasting people's time here
Oh, just tried the POST idea on my laptop, works great! Thanks! Now time to look at MortScript me thinks

AT&T Tilt internet not working after bloatware removal.

hi all...i am having a strange problem. in order to remvoe the bloatware i cleared my storage memory in phone and then did a soft reset in the beginning to avoid bloatware installation. everything went fine, but now i am not able to access internet through any browser. but at the same time all the apps which access internet directly are able to access properly. please let me know what i need to do now
this might have something to do with the AT&T proxies. search for that on xda. i saw a thread somewhere with a cab for the proxy posted.
EDIT: you can find it here

I tried that and even then its not working. by the way i am using the 6.1 stock ROM.
ummm... i'm stumped. how about a hard reset?
doesnt part of the bloatware configure the settings for internet access? have you checked those out? Start, settings, connections, connections...check that out, see if it's blank. There's a cab out there that autoconfigs for at&t settings (credit to creator) or the settings are all over the internet.

[Q] HTC TD2 & WPA Enterprise EAP PEAP MSchapV2

is it possible to connect to WPA Enterprise networks via WiFi? because I'm searching for a ROM which would allow to connect to the network on my university, which runs the following configuration:
SSID: eduroam
type: WPA-Enterprise
key exchange scheme: TKIP
authorization: EAP-PEAP-MSchapv2
IP: via DHCP
I tried it with the Energy ROM from the forum, but it doesn't allow me to enroll the certificate or it doesn't want to accept it. the other way round it doesn't allow me to enter a user name, I can only put in my password.
could somebody give me a hint what to do? I was searching the forum, found some registry hacks, but none worked
Try to change:
HKLM\\Comm\TNETW12511\Parms\WPAMixedMode
from 1 to 0.
ok, I tried it, but still the same happens:
I enter everything in the configuration menu of the comm manager, click 'next' and then I have to choose a certificate to log on - a little bit lower is a button called 'Enroll', which does nothing when hit. When I try to click 'done' it says that I have to enroll a certificate, so there's only cancel left ...
still doesen't work
well ... can somebody help please?
//edit:
well, as it seems nobody really knows how to work that out ...
Because I'm at my university every two weeks for the weekend, I'll be able to test this way of trying to connect to the WPA enterprise network in a week. but perhaps somebody else can confirm or obey this workaround:
Connect your device to your desktop/laptop and when WindowsMobileDeviceCenter (Win 7: just type the name in the search field in the start bar) opens go to Mobile Device settings >> More >> Get Device Certificates >> I know What Certificate I need to Enrol >> User ... then click enroll. Watch your device as you will be prompted to install the cert. Follow the prompts and after a few seconds you're done. When you setup your wifi connection choose PEAP and enter all the needed information.

It's help I got from microsoft social answers, perhaps somebody can try that out ...?
in case you understand german
http://www.rrz.uni-hamburg.de/fileadmin/internet_kommunikation/smartphone/htc-hd2_uhh-wpa.pdf
it's from my university. it also contains the instructions for eduroam.
in addition to that manual, I had to uncheck "check server certificate" in the certificate tab of the secureW2 plug-in

yes, indeed, I understand german
thanks a lot for this tip, it looks a little bit different on a customized ROM and stuff, but in general it worked - I'll try it on friday or saturday, then I'll be at my university and able to give feedback!
when it'll work, I'll post a translated how-to in this thread...
sorry, I wasn't able to establish the connection with the tip by jones23 ... perhaps it works with WPA2, but not here ...
Hello,
what is the status of this? Did you find a solution?
I have the same issue since I flashed the EnergyROM.
Any ideas?
unfortunately it's truely not possible, I wasn't able to connect to the configuration from the first post using the HTC Diamond II ... damn thing!
but I'm gonna try this weekend something different: imho it's just a software problem, it's got nothing to do with hardware ... so I'm gonna try a dual boot with android and connect with that, perhaps this will work. I'll give feddback
ok, during clicking around on the device I found the solution:
Comm Manager -> Settings -> WLAN -> Network Cards
Here you can ignore the certificate and enter login data for the WIFI network.
Hopefully someone else can use this information.
@ taschenuhr
thats great to hear
@ others
perhaps you can use a notebook for testing purposes, since the connection & login data is the same. there's a windows (mac) version of that same client software.
