Bootloader 'not allowed'

Dear XDA-Helpers,
First of all I want to apologize. Because likely the most of you will think the answers on my question are already posted. But I've searched and searched and I don't have found the solution. (Yes I saw this thread too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487187 It's the same question but that didn't help too.)
So this is what I did:
I wanted to test out the Eclair 2.0 Rom, so I flashed that over Cyanogen. Then I wanted back to 1.6, and used this method. ( http://www.gphone.org.hk/cgi-bin/ch/topic_show.cgi?id=60&bpg=1&age=0)
So I was on 1.5 and rooted with the one click method. Then I flashed the signed-dream_devphone_userdebug-ota-14721.zip ROM. When that was finished I reboot my G1, and then I wanted to flash Cyanogen, but when I went back to recovery mode, the orignal HTC recovery was back and I was unrooted, now I also cannot flash any DREAIMG.nbh because when I go in bootloader it says "not allowed".
I really don't know what to do now.
Some specs about my G1:
Android G1 with Donut 1.6
Kernel Version: 2.6.29-00479-g3c7df37 [email protected] #19
Build Number: dream_devphone-userdebug 1.6 DRC83 14721 test-keys
About the error of the bootloader:

You're not unrooted. You just didn't read the instructions carefully enough.
Use fastboot to flash a modified recovery (I prefer CM's).
Code:
start your phone in fastboot usb mode.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot
Once that is done, go into the recovery and you can flash roms again.
This time FOLLOW the instructions...
After you've flashed the htc recovery image, do NOT restart the phone, simply flash cyanogens rom right after that, THEN reboot.

you might also like to try RA-Dream-v1.5.2 - there are lots of extra options in there like partitioning your card for swap, apps2sd etc

Sorry for wrong section, I was used to use RA-Dream recovery, but since I don't have root anymore, I cannot flash a other recovery..

Well, when I typ 'su'/'sudo' in Terminal Emulator, it says no permission or something, so I think I don't have root anymore.. will your method fix my Bootloader? I used to get a screen with some skateboard but now I get a screen with a few colours.. and then it says 'not allowed'

Well when you flash the htc recovery image and then reboot the phone it will flash the stock recovery. That's why you need to flash cyanogens rom right after it.
But I don't really see why you're at the stock bootloader again now.
So you're on 1.6 with the stock bootloader? And the bootloader won't flash the .NBH, Looks like you need a goldcard.

yes I'm on 1.6 with the coloured boot loader and I can't flash a .NBH file, it says not allowed. What is a goldcard? You mean this? http://revskills.de/pages/goldcard.html
It says I need to give them my SD Card Serial (CID), but I have no idea what it is and where I can find it..

Here now the problem is that you cannot flash anything from the bootloader coz its telling 'Not allowed' And not even flash through recovery coz its the non - Rooted Stock one...
So here you go may be this would help you to get out of this problem.
First try this...
1. Get Amon_RA Recovery image into any folder.
2. Then Start your Phone in Boot loader mode
3. Open Command Prompt on your PC (Windows > Run > Type 'cmd' > Enter)
4. Browse to the folder where the Recovery image is located using cd <folder>
5. Connect the Phone to the PC via USB
6. Type fastboot boot <recovery_img_name.img> in the cmd window.
The Phone may boot into the Rooted Recovery...
If Not Try this..
Remember when G1 was first rooted ?
We had to type telnetd and then it installed the telnet application...
Try it...
Put the downloaded recovery image into the sdcard means /sdcard/recovery.img
1) Go to the Terminal emulator & type "telnetd" and press enter.
2) Press Home
3) Goto the market and download "Telnet"
4) Open Telnet and connect to localhost : 23
5) Press enter and you should see a #
6) Now type the following and press enter at the end of each line
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cd sdcard
flash_image recovery cm-recovery-1.4.img
cat /sdcard/recovery.img > /system/recovery.img
7) Now try going into Recovery mode hope this might work...

The first method did not work because, when I go in Bootloader my PC don't detect that the G1 is connect, it just don't do anything.
The second method didn't work too, because when I typ in terminal 'telnetd' it says no permission...

He can't flash from the boot loader as he doesn't have the engineering boot loader installed.
The other option might work though. If not, a goldcard will be the only way out.
This process is a bit tricky though.
First of all you will need the cid of your sdcard, to get this, type the following command in the terminal emulator.

cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/cid > /sdcard/serial.txt
The cid will be saved within the root directory of your sdcard.
Now comes the tricky part, you need to reverse the string byte-wise. Here is an example.
This is what your cid can look like.

Now split it up in pairs.

Next, reverse the string byte-wise.

Now, take that cid and plug it into the goldcard generator you posted earlier and enter your email.

You will be send an goldcard.img file.
This last part is important and requires knowledge with linux and the dd command
1. Format your sdcard with Fat32.
2. Open a shell and type dd if=location_of_goldcard/goldcard.img of=/dev/sdx(where x is the letter that stands for your sdcard)
3. When it gives you a prompt saying the write was successful, drag the .NBH to the root of the sdcard, plug it in your G1, and try again.

That's because you're on 1.6. I believe this only worked in 1.0 where the keyboard was attached to a root console, so anything you typed on the keyboard would go straight to the console with root permissions. This flaw has been fixed.

Rooting for Noobs 101 - Learn how to root your phone here!

I wrote this Noob manual to help others achieve the same goal: Root the Nexus One. Thanks goes out to the XDA forums for such fantastic community support. In my quest to root, was overwhelmed and confused with the various ways to do it. Should you root by unlocking the bootloader or not, should you downgrade, then upgrade, which recovery image to use, how to flash a recovery image, everything shows "superboot" bla bla bla. We all have the same questions, but this can be a pain-staking process to find the answers. Here's a short guide that may help you root the phone.
Overview of the process: A) Unlock Bootloader B) Flash Recovery Image C) Install Rom through Recovery. D) Phone now unlocked and rooted.
1) Setup adb and confirm it's working by reading your serial number.

2) Unlock bootloader (voids warranty but htc may still repair). Turn on USB debugging (may need to toggle usb debugging off to move files to sd card, then back on for adb). Reboot phone into fastboot:
Power off device and hold down trackball while powering back on. The fastboot screen is the one with the Androids on skateboards.
Open a command prompt and navigate to your Android SDK tools folder.
Type ‘fastboot devices‘ to make sure your phone is recognized.
Type ‘fastboot oem unlock‘ to unlock the bootloader.
Use volume keys to navigate to yes and press the power button to confirm.
3) Flash Aman RA Recovery in fastboot (immediately following flash, go into recovery console before rebooting or the recovery image may not show up). The stock rom will re-flash recovery during boot because of scripts. Recovery rom should be placed in adb folder. To reboot into recovery from adb type 'reboot recovery'. Copy the recovery file to your Android SDK tools folder. Open a command prompt and navigate to your Android SDK tools folder. Type ‘fastboot flash recovery recovery.img‘ (or whatever the recovery file name is).

4) While in fastboot, select "Recovery" and new Recovery screen shows up. FRF91 signed image or custom rom should be on the sd card.
Download signed FRF91 signed image for rooting (only after adb is working, the bootloader has been unlocked and recovery image successfully flashed.
5) Flash Froyo 2.2 rooted & signed update file.

I'm still stuck with my nexus one since I don't care that much about phones.
I've seen that jelly bean roms have made a significant progress. Thus I decided to give it a shot.
I started with installing adb and fastboot. :good: After that I rooted the nexus one :good: I've used this how to:
c2med blog, can't post links...
Next, I ran blackrose. :good: I saved the rom on the micro sd. Having done all the preperations I wanted to flash the JB rom.
I started the phone in bootloader mode but - unfortunately - couldn't access the recovery mode (ext4). I only get the Android figure and an exclamation mark.
In the how-to it sais i should use fastboot to flash the recovery made by ext 4.
Problem # 1: Ext4 generated a .zip, not a .img file
Problem # 2: I connect the device in fastboot mode, navigate to the adb/fastboot folder and use ./fastboot devices. The phone is recognized and I see the serial number. Next I try "flash recovery...." but I only get "command not found". Now, I basically have no idea what to do.
Which recovery should I flash? And how?
I'm so looking forward to your answers.

What you get is the stock recovery.
Flash 4Ext recovery or Amon RA recovery ( fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img)
Among the several guides to install JB, I suggest you to look at the following post:

I just finished this morning the following process:
install RA recovery,
install Blackrose and resize partition,
install from SD card Evervolv-Perdo-3.2.0-Nightly-2013.01.13-passion.zip
install from SD card gapps-ev-jb-20120816.zip
I spent a lot of times reading and trying. I had an issue after installing Evervolv-perdo-3.1.0final-passion zip. That's why I switched to the Nightly (JB 4.2).
Once you are set install a2sd from within the terminal emulator on your N1.
In my opinion this is so far the best ROM I ever have had on my Nexus 1.:good:
I am impressed to the extend that I offer to my wife to do the same on her N1. She said no. No to unlock, no to root and of course no to custom ROM.

It happened to me. I just re-flashed Amon RA recovery from the fastboot mode. Maybe somewhere you missed a step?

In other words open your folder android-sdk-windows installed on the root of your C: hd. Click on the folder platform-tools and download Amon RA recovery in this folder. Left click anywhere on a blank area of this folder then press the key Shift (keyboard) and right click your mouse. In the drop down menu select Open command window. In the CMD, to be sure that the N1 is recognized by the pc (meaning the right drivers are installed) type ADB devices and press enter. You should see a string of numbers like HT9C......
Type adb reboot bootloader and press enter. You are in the fastboot mode ( and mood if I may say so) and the phone shows that it is in the bootloader. You can check again that N1 is recognized by the pc by typing fastboot devices. Same string appears.
Type fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img.
After the installation is completed boot in recovery, select Flash zip from sdcard, select the ROM you have dropped on the card. When the installation is completed go back to Flash zip from sdcard ( you are still in recovery mode) and select the gapps you have dropped on the sdcard.
Go back to Reboot system now. You are then out of the recovery and it takes some times for the N1 to boot to this beautiful JB

As c2med posted in his guide, sometimes, people lose their recovery when they repartition using Black Rose. Hence, its always best to have Amon-RA or 4EXT flashable .img file in your PC so that incase you lose recovery, you can always flash it back.
Once you are in bootloader ( also called FASTBOOT mode) you can flash your recovery.
Then reboot into recovery from FASTBOOT (Shutdown and then restart using the recovery combination)
Once you are in recovery, follow the steps in c2med's guide (wipe cache/dalvik/etc - except sd-card ofcourse) and flash your ROM from sd card.
Then reboot into JayBee

In the screenshot you type:
$ ./fastboot devices
then you type:
$ flash recovery ......../recovery.img
Command not found.... Sure, flash it's not a command...
You need to type fastboot command first!
$ ./fastboot flash recovery ......../recovery.img

Thank You! That's what I figuered out last night. Of course I also tried "fastboot flash" but forgot the "./". That was the key. Now the JB ROM works like a charm.
New Problem:
I can't install google apps. In fact I don't really need them. I only use a few apps and found the .apk files with google. Unfortunately the "official" Google apps like chrome don't work.
Plus, I wanted to install the camera (laggy in the evervolv - rom) and keyboard from here.

When you're in recovery, select "Flash zip from SD card" and then select "Toggle signature verification" to disable signature verification, and then "Choose zip from SD card" and navigate to the zip file that you want to flash.

How to Root Android 5.0 (LRX21O) for Nexus 5

Hey guys,
So i'm sure this is probably already out there, but I wanted to give everyone my method of success with rooting the latest version on Android (5.0) on our N5. Here it is:
Prereqs: You'll need to have these downloaded first
TWRP - Download to your Computer
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/hammerhead/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-hammerhead.img
SuperUser v2.19 - Download to your Phone
http://click.xda-developers.com/api...ainfire.eu/593/SuperSU/BETA-SuperSU-v2.19.zip
Platform Tools - Download to your Computer

Steps
1) Download SuperUser v2.19 to your phone.
2) Turn off your phone, and reboot into the BootLoader by holding Power + Vol (-). Wait until you see the Green Android Robot.
3) Plug your phone via Micro USB to your Computer.
4) Download and Extract Platform Tools in a "New Folder" on your C: Drive. Give the folder an easy name such as "N5" or something similiar
5) Download and Extract the TWRP recovery image to the "New Folder". Rename the "openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.1-hammerhead.img" to "Recovery". NOTE: It may ask you to overwrite the exisiting recovery image (if applicable). Select Ok/Yes
6) Open your Command Prompt (Windows) and type the following: (You can copy and paste if you'd like)
* cd..\..
* cd c:\(Your New Folder)
* fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
6) Let TWRP flash to your phone (Should take no more than ~10 secs).
7) Toggle your phone to "Recovery" by using the Voume Up/Down keys. Press the Power button to select/confirm.
8) Once TWRP has loaded, press the "Install" icon, followed by "Zip File", and proceed to the "Downloads" folder that you have the SuperUser v2.19 zip downloaded.
9) Select the zip and confirm by swiping at the bottom.
10) Reboot back to the "System"
11) Done

What part are you stuck at?

For me, I needed to erase cache for the TWRP to stick. Otherwise, when I rebooted it was gone and was using the default recovery.
Use the command:

before

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
if you have the same problem installing TWRP.

I used chainfires auto root for the N5 (stock lollipop Boot loader). Worked great. Just download to a PC put phone into boot loader and run the bat file. I can't link but a quick google will find it for you.

Good find. Didn't happen to me, but i'm sure it may to others. Were you all set afterwards with Root?

Personally, I'm using the autoroot from chainfire. Works like a charm, no custom recovery is needed (I have the stock recovery).

Everything is working, but then SuperSU can´t find a Binary.

Are you running the official lollipop release? It should work with that. Delete the app, and try again.

Just put your phone in bootloader and run cf-autoroot from windows if you dont want twrp.

I have twrp but its not working like that

Why are you trying to do this the hard way? Just use chainfire's autoroot.
It works perfect and it's literally one command
fastboot boot CHautoroot.img (or whatever the file name is)

cf-auto-root is the way
I agree, just use cf-auto-root. You should be good to go in no time.
Just for FYI, if you already have unlocked bootloader, it won't wipe your data, if you are concerned.
CF-auto-root roots N5 without modifying your kernel. I believe, if you flash the SuperSU in TWRP, it would modify the kernel. It's nothing bad, but if you want to remain "stock" and don't want to reflash stock ROM later to get the OTA, just use "Full unroot" from SuperSU app and you are stock and ready for next OTA.

Of course, just follow these easy steps and then enjoy your rooted android (If you don't understand something from the steps, google it or ask me.)
1. Unlock your Bootloader (you will need ADB and to factory reset after unlocking.)
-Type in Google "unlock sony bootloader" and click on first link.
-Select your device, click continue and enter your email address, you will need your IMEI of your smartphone, then you will receive your unlock key in your email address.
-After you did all of this, carefully read the instructions on Sony website and you will unlock your Bootloader in 1-5 minutes.
2. Now with unlocked Bootloader you can flash Philz custom recovery via ADB (with fastboot installed.)
-Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-e1/general/philz-touch-recovery-xperia-e1-t2941831 and download the recovery.
-Now put recovery.img who you downloaded in ADB/platform-tools
-Enable USB Debugging in Developer options.
-Connect your smartphone with USB and run ADB (to make sure you connected ADB, type "adb devices" and you should be able to see your device (if not, you did something wrong.)
-While in ADB, type this command: adb reboot bootloader (this will reboot in fastboot.)
-Now, when in fastboot mode, type this: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (the flash finish for 1 sec.)
-Type "fastboot reboot" while in fastboot, and your device should be ready with installed custom recovery.
-You can enter Recovery by power off your smartphone, then press: "Power" + "Volume UP".
3. Download Latest SuperSU (this is the root): https://download.chainfire.eu/1017/SuperSU/SR1-SuperSU-v2.79-SR1-20161221223537.zip
-Put the SuperSU.zip in your SD card.
-Boot in Recovery.
-Choose "Install Zip".
-Choose "Choose zip from /sdcard".
-Select your .zip file and tap on him.
-Choose "Yes".
-Choose "Reboot System Now" (Or if it does not show, then go back to main menu and choose it.)
Congratulations, you flashed SuperSU/root successfully.

Easiest way is have any recovery on your phone, doesn't really matter If you have Caio's kernel + TWRP, or the regular one PhilZ recovery
Download SuperSU from Google Play, when it asks you to update the binary tap on Yes, and when it asks you again how to update the binary, just tap on TWRP
On the next boot you will have root.

Just use kingroot and supersume to get supersu without computer. I use kingroot 4.5 because newest one doesn't work with supersume. good luck!
