Comparison photos of Hero with and without extended batteries? - Hero CDMA Accessories

I am thinking about getting a 3500 battery but don't want to make my phone too thick. Does anybody have comparison shots?

OEM Extended Battery for the Vogue

I found this extended battery for the vogue. Any of you use this? If so how does it compare to the original standard battery?
that battery just showed up on the "battery scene"... it should provide more capacity based on mAh. i'm using Seidio's 2000 mAH battery it provides enough power to get me 1.5 days with normal usage.
Yeah I have that battery and anything is better than the one that comes with it. It lasts a lot longer as you would probably expect from a bigger battery. If you do get that battery it won't fit in your case anymore and the best case I found that fits it perfect by the way is this one http://swissmobility.swissmobilitystore.com/store/product/swissmobility_commander. It fits it perfect after a day of breaking it in. It is also cheaper here at this site http://www.buywirelessnow.com/smartwireless/buy/accessories/cat/615/accessory/298685 which includes the cover and free shipping.

Mind sharing pictures of what it looks like installed? Also do you know if any of the existing extended batteries would fit using the OEM extended battery door?
thanks,
-CC
Here are a few pictures. As far as other batteries fitting inside like the 2000 from seidio it probably will because they claim it will still fit in the original holster with the back you can get with it and with this HTC back it won't fit inside the original holster. This is all an assumption.
thanks for the pictures... if you have it, i'd like to see a side-shot of the phone with battery cover (similar to 3rd from left but with cover) and a bottom-shot of the phone with battery cover (looking from bottom). having an OEM cover vs. the tight Seidio cover is something i'm thinking about (not to mention having another backup battery). thx
Yo, here are the pictures you requested.

Guess I can't get the 2000mah battery then
What else you guys recommend ?
I've been thinking of getting the Treo 700wx
This is the 1500mah battery which fits with the original cover..

too expensive though, there's tons of them on ebay cheaper
Will a Extended Battery Door for a Capacity 1900 mAh battery fit a 2000mah battery?
i have the extented door for the OEM 1900 mAh battery and it easily accomodates seidio's 2000 mAh battery. in fact, the 1900 mAh battery is taller than seidio's 2000 mAh battery.
Thanks for the reply. I'm looking forward to the purchasing the door and the extended battery.
how much room is left in between the battery and the cover would you say? I want to put an led in the case for a non-flash/light. the mugen-power full case looks like it would work, but I don't want to spend $75 on a 3 year old phones battery.

Anyone tried the Mugen 1300mah battery?

Alright guys, has anyone brought one of these? And if so are they any good?
I want a second battery, and these look pretty good on paper...cant bring myself to buy the offical extended battery, its just too ugly.

How about the original 1230mah battery. I can't see 70mah extra making much of a difference and I doubt they will be better in quality than the original.

Agreed, I don't know why they are call this an extended battery to begin with even if it adds a bit more. Not justifiable...!
Ok guys, just thought Mugen where good quality batteries.
Just read in another thread about a higher capacity Mugen coming, so I'll hold of and see what that looks like.
i have just ordered one to try, I am currently using a momax 1200 and are very happy with it , I have tried the 1600mA from china and didnt rate it, but i will let you all know the results

will we see extended battery's?

I don't really know much about how easy replacing phones with bigger battery's, but is it likely that htc will sell a bigger power battery for the hd7 ie 1500 or something?
I've seen regualr replacement batterys for the HD7 advertised but not extended ones...not yet anyway.
As always, it's just a matter of time before Mugen/HTC/Seidio etc announce an extended battery.
I hope they can squeeze a true not BS 1500mAH battery in there without a new back cover. It would ruin the design.

There are 1500mAH batteries listed on Ebay already but how can you tell if its the same old 1230mAH battery with a different sticker on it? Is it even possible to squeeze 270 more mA into a battery of the same size?
lol of course its possible.. have you seen the size of the EVO's battery??? that was 1500 and the dimensions were quiute similar to that of the HD2... so I don't see why it would make a difference
I bought an HD7 and love it. Battery life is not the greatest so I just ordered a 1500 mAh battery for it. I'll let you guys know if it is any better. BTW, the HD7 comes with a 1230 mHa battery (thanks HTC for going cheap here :-| )
Also, the Evo 4G which is almost the exact same hw device comes with a 1500 mHa out of the box.
rfleites, did you get the battery?

I'd like to know also... see if there is much of a difference.
Yeah I'd love to get feedback on the battery too.
I'm sure this is the one we're all talking about:

I've heard those batteries on ebay are fakes. There's a thread on the General HD7 forum.
I have just had an email from these people saying they will be announcing an extended battery tomorrow:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/
They look legit.
1300mAh extended battery with existing back cover:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/htc/mugen-power-1300mah-extended-battery-for-htc-hd7-t-mobile-9292.html
3900mAh one with a new back cover (no picture yet):
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com/htc/mugen-power-3900mah-extended-battery-for-htc-hd7-t-mobile-9292.html
holy sh*t 3900mAh?? really? wow if they work...!!
I'm sure it works. The qustion is do you want a great big lump sticking out the back of your phone?
Hey guys I ordered the battery but now I need a case that is compatible with this 3900 mah battery.
They provide you the battery cover It comes with the battery itself

I'll buy when you confirm whether it will fry my HD7 or not?
3900!!!
If that's available then why wouldn't HTC made (& sold) one themselves? seems like an easy buck

As mentioned above the big battery sticks out the back of your phone in a great big lump (they have a picture on their site now). It will also add a lot to the weight. HTC would never release a phone like this.
Why they didn't make the HD7 just a tiny bit thicker and heavier to squeeze a 1500mAh battery in is another question though.
I am not talking about the battery cover. I am talking about a case. A leather case or any other thing i can protect my phone with so if it drops or anything i dont want any scratches etc.

Just saw the battary pic Man this thing is agly.
now I understand what you ment. No, not for me.
I like mine thin and crispy
1500mAh?
Im not so bothered for the 3900 especially with the size of the thing!
But is there a 1500mAh replacement battery that wont need a new battery cover and that wont change the original design form factor of my HD7?

Upgraded battery

Has anyone bought a higher capacity battery and found it to be good?
I've seen some 1500mAH batteries very cheap but have seen people reviewing them saying they are don't last as long as the 1230mAH HTC battery due to being bad quality.
Is there a good quality 1500 (or higher) capacity battery around - one that doesn't make the phone fat and ugly?
+1
I would also like to know this. When I had a Vibrant 3g, I was able to buy an oem vibrant 4g battery for $20 and it was 150 maH bigger, but same physical size and voltage. Worked great. I know there are extended batteries, but they are usually bulky. I have found that aftermarket slim extended batteries are worthless, and often perform less than the stock one. I even bought a mugen slim extended battery for my Mytouch 4g and at first it was phenominal. But within the first 4 full cycles, it was performing at 60% what my stock battery did. I reconditioned it, reflashed the rom from a full charge, etc. Surprised me, cuz mugen gets a lot of good reviews. Best bet is to get a power skin, or get a bulky extended battery. Power skin is bulky, but it's a uniform bulkiness, so not as awkward as the bulge of a standard extended battery. Hope this helps.

Extended Battery?

I found these going for $30 including back-cover..
1) why are they so cheap?
2) if they are really are 3500 mAh, why isn't it included with by default?
3) if it does have 3500 mah, does it have 2x the capacity?
4) does the back cover have no logo's?
Thanks
do you have a link to the site? or a brand at least?
These usually advertise full capacity and in the fine print they say battery charges up to 80% or so of capacity. Essentially 3600mAh advertised is to be read 2800mAh. So don't expect 2x battery life. And this, given you get a reputable battery not "original" brand for example often seen on ebay for about that price. You'll have to be fine phone looking like a brick too.
Be ready phone not to read the battery properly too. Anything beyond the BF6X will wack the battery gauge.

Does the official 19xx mAh battery also make the droid 3 thicker?

Yea, definitely go with the 1960 (or is it 1980? Can't remember, but I have it in my phone). It's literally about 0.5mm thicker, and so it comes with a custom battery cover. If you snap on the standard battery cover, it just barely fits (very tight squeeze), but I'd recommend using the case that comes with it (it's literally impossible notice a difference in thickness). The only reason it's slightly bigger even though the battery is barely bigger than the stock one is because the extended battery tends to expand a bit more when hot, so you need just a tiny bit more room.
I get about 30% extra life with the extended 1960 battery in comparison to the stock one.
Hope this helps.
I've bought the 3500 mah battery from ebay. Only ten dollars when I bought it. Battery life will last a bit more than seven hours with the following running (using Steel Droid 3.0 by the way):
Music (playing One Mic by Nas on repeat 320 kbps mp3)
Angry Birds (just sitting on the first level zoomed out as far as possible)
Max Brightness
Maps and navigation (directions to Walmart by foot)
Used battery graph to monitor until battery died
As the person said above me though, the battery reports incorrectly
After the battery meter stayed at one percent after the fifth hour
I know I don't have to worry about my battery life anymore though
Phone hasn't died on me since I've done the above benchmark

Thanks. Does the cutstom cover have the verizon/google logo? Is the cover of the same quality as the standard one?
