Hi,
I Have a HTC Hero 1.5 and I want to use google maps navigation. I have google maps and I can't find it on the market to update it....
Is anyone where can I find it please ?
I still try brute maps and I can't install it also. i've got the message that it's not possible to install it ?
Any solutions please ?
I'm a newbie.
Thanks
Eric
try going strait to google.com/maps on ur phone and see if u can download the latest version tehre
you must be on the 2.1 firmware to see and use Navigation !
i think being on 1.6 and up will do it
Upgrade your ROM to one that is based on Android 2.1+. I recommend VilllainROM 12.
You will then be able to use it !
The nav stuff is included with the official 2.1 ROM from HTC, but the navigation is not available worldwide. If you're in norway like me, you can install the brut maps hack wich is somewhere here.

Hi
I flashed SenseHero 2.2 ROM which is a pretty good Android 2.1 flash. Unfortunately, it comes without Google Maps and native HTC PDF viewer. Where can I get this apps from? I could not get any answer on SenseHero forums.
Thanks.
You can download Maps from the market.
Also running SenseHero

Thanks for the apk but I get "Application not installed" error even though I enabled unknown sources in application settings.
It's strange I can find Google Maps on Androlib site but it does not appear in Market search. Does Google restrict application based on client country?

Yes some countries do not get all apps. But there is something called Market Enabler,... Have a look for that.
And try these again for PDFViewer,... Put both in the same folder and then try to install again.
Let me know how it goes.

The new files give me the same error. I also tried to install Market enabler and its apk cannot be installed either. Seems like the project is outdated, the authors say they don't support the latest Market version.
I followed these instruction: http://strazzere.com/blog/?tag=pdfviewerapk which say additional libraries should be installed. After I put the libraries in the right place the application installed OK but it won't start. So I guess I will be needing the correct PDFViewer version (for Android 2.1). If anyone has it, please...
Hey, i have Navigon 2.6.1 on my HD2 using this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060.
Installing works fine but when i launch the application i became an error message
"The application Navigon (Process com.navigation.navigator) gets closed unexpected. Try it again" (or something like that , i translated it from german)
Does somebody maybe know if its Navigon 2.6.1 which dont works on my Rom or is it maybe a buggy version and an other one would work on my rom?
Also you maybe know some equal navigation apps you could told me. ( i know copilot, is it good?)
hi,
i had the same problem with navigon. i found some fixes for the config files. but from 10 starts, 8 froze or chrashed again.
check out Sygic Aura. more pretty, fast and there is a 7 day trial version on the market
thanks, i will give it a try
Are you running gingerbread on your hd2?
If you are running gingerbread, go to settings->applications->navigon and move it from sd to phone.
theres no option "move to phone", only "move to sd" but its disabled and the only button which is actived is uninstall? so what to do?

Are you using a gingerbread build or not?
This trick with moving an app from sd to phone usually works on gingerbread with apps that force close. I don't know if this is even possible with froyo.
But since navigon is already on your phone and you can't move it anywhere, it doesn't matter anyway.
Only solution seems to be to use a different navigation software.
What's wrong with google navigation? Yes, it's online but it doesn't cost much. If you don't use navigation all the time it's a good option.
You can also try "navit" from Android market, a free, offline navigation solution.
There is a thread in this part of the forum listing the different navigation apps. Maybe you find something comparable to navigon.
try co pilot.
i use this now, having stumbled across the same problems with GB builds.
wont bother using navigon again now, copilot is a cracking bit of kit.

I've used Navigon 2.6.1 for a long time without any problems on my HD2 CoreDroid DHD ROM. On SD builds as now on NAND.
Try uninstalling it, reboot your phone an install it again.

Is your Core droid ROM a Gingerbread build?
Because the TS is using a Gingerbread build and not all apps work on GB.

I use the 3.5.3 (paid) version now also. But the 2.6.1 is the trail version and that did work well on CoreDroid (Froyo 2.2.1).

Hi all, this maybe already been answered but i was not able to find a proper answer.
I have installed Ginger DX v14 and I live outside US and google maps is not supported from my country, it came installed, now its gone.
How can I install it?
Can anyone provide the .apk files for it or a place to download?
Thank you in advance.
EDIT: Resolved installing ownhere version.
They say that the ownhere version drains the battery. You can downlload the original maps using Market Enabler.

Hi
Is anyone's compass working on Google Maps while using Onecosmic's ICS RC3 Rom? My Compass is working in a Compass App and in MapDroyd.. but in Google Maps, it doesn't.
Can anyone suggest a fix? I've already replaced the networklocation.apk (which fixed the Compass App from force closing).
Thanks
Use a version of maps before 6.0 and it will work, for some reason google has done something to maps that has broken compass on AOSP based roms.
Thanks diabslosv, I'll try and get an older APK for it and try it out

I have the same, is really annoying me.. Another apps that requires location do not work.
http://www.wupload.com/file/2143967117
This is Google Maps 5.12, the last one that had a working compass.. It should work
The login failed error happens because of permissions.. but I got a triangle in the notification bar on my phone, and clicked allow for about 3 different things.
looks like it working now..
perfect...thx a lot!
Sound Recorder
I can not find Sound Recorder. The application is installed but does not appear in the menu. Help please. (Version: Onecosmic RC3v2)

Here's my current theory, I'm thinking maybe 6.0 and up is looking for the barometer (helps find your location apparently) which isn't in our phone, which is a new feature of the Galaxy Nexus.... which is somehow stuffing the compass for us..... perhaps maps 6.0 thinks our phone is a galaxy nexus .
Might be totally wrong though

Maps compass solution
I just had this problem (on a different rom). After using Maps-5.12 as a workaround for months, I finally discovered that the compass will work on the newer versions of Maps if auto-rotation is enabled.
Cheers!
Can someone teach me how to make market working properly as before?
Cannot download some apps from market as they are "incopatible" - google says!
Please post a working manual to make market working again (like for noobs).
I know this is discussed a lot, but no sollution worked for me or I am to stupid to do it right.
There is a lot of sollutions for ICS around ... but not all of us have ICS.
Thank you.
trying to put another fw, kernel and other rom, I hope you google or search on google account andoid market. APK
