Is anyone able to port the Mms.apk from Froyo to 2.1, or theme the 2.1 version so that you have the white background/black text on the main window.
I have tried to push the 2.2 version, and also edit the 2.1 version with the 2.2 .png's and xml files but it either doesn't install or FC on me.

Does anyone have a copy of the unmodified Mms.apk that will work with cyanogen 4.1999? The one I have on CM is dropping picture messages, and I strongly believe it has to do with the modified Mms.apk specifically the spoof agent. So could someone upload a copy of the Mms.apk unmodified?
thats odd. for me it was the opposite, the defualt one sucked and the modified one helped bigtime. but i think if you go download the htc recovery image of 1.6 or if you can just find any official rom/ota. go into the system/apps and it should be there
I got the flip clock animation from jac's 1.6ra2 rom and tried pushing it to mlign 3.2a hero rom. All I get is a force close. Any help? Btw its the framework-res.apk file. I read on the forums that's the file I need to push.
Currently running Super D 1.8 after trying out a few of the Eclair ROMs (each shows promise but they're a little buggy at present). One thing I liked about Eclair is the Settings menu. I tried adb pushing both Settings.apk and SettingsProvider.apk into /system/app but it's still the same old settings menu. How can I change it?

Its not possible since the 2.1 settings.apk requires 2.1 framework.

How about making a update.zip for the Settings.apk and SettingsProvider.apk?
For Decompiling & Compiling System files you have to decompile the file where the file is dependent on which the application will be Sttings Framework file from your phone!

After that, using any RootManager insert a file in the system directory and restart the phone!
I used to change fonts easily before froyo using the Root Explorer method but with Froyo when I reboot the N1 after changing the fonts it will get infinite loops!!
Is there any solutions to change fonts under froyo?

Is it easy to do a font pack for metamorph?

I havent tried it on Froyo, but when I was running cyan 5.0.6 I replaced one of the fonts in the skaggz zip with a different one I wanted to use, applied it with metamorph and it worked fine. There was no need to edit any files unless I had wanted to change the name, but I just left it unchanged and my new font had the name of the one it replaced.

I tried to take cyanogen's contacts.apk and contactsprovier.apk and replace mine from from jpm, but I cant get them to install (I signed them)
Anybody, any idea on how to install stock contacts and dialer on JPM rom (replace samsung's stuff) ?
