Looking for the "Droid" notification sound - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

Yep,
As I got a Milestone, I don't have the pretty notification sound of a mechanical saying "Droid".
Does anybody could send me it ?
[EDIT]
Anyone with a rooted Droid can find it here : /system/media/audio/notifications/

Here you go.
I think you would also be able to find it by downloading a cooked ROM and unzipping it.

You also can download zedge ringtone app and under search Droid. It comes up as Droid and Droid alert.

Skype Live and FM Radio for Samsung Captivate...

Sorry if this is posted under the wrong thread but I have seen other posts about porting apk's here so anyway here it goes:
I'm sure that by now today Skype has lifted its Verizon Android phone only limitions and is now extending them to ALL Android devices. The only problem is that an updated app is TBA. With that being said, I stumbled across this site earlier: http://www.chadhaney.com/droidXDefault/ which has all the apk's for the Droid X listed in alphabetical order. Needless to say I installed the Skype Live apk and it appeared to load but gave me a message stating that it was for Verizon phones only. Would it be possible for someone to port this to the Captivate, and since the FM Radio apk is there too, would that also be possible? Thanks in advance!!!

skype is on app market already.
FM radio i think captivate just missing out the chips that was used for it in i9000, and guess that's the same one for verizon's galaxy s.
I've been trying the Market version but it wont let me sign in...I've only had success with the beta which...sucks lol...

What's the likelyhood of getting the BT Voice commands APK/odex from the Droid X and applying them?
I wouldn't expect to see BT Voice control until the official FroYo release for our phone.

Depends on if it has any dependencies in Motorola specific frameworks or not.

[REQUEST] Original HTC sounds

Hey there, guys! As you may or may not know, I recently upgraded to the Droid Charge (I wanted to lock in Unlimited Data, so I moved the last week of June).
In any case, I gave my Eris to my younger brother who is not IT inclined. He lives in a different state too.
I'm loving my Charge, but hating these Samsung sounds (ringtones, alerts, alarm sounds). I tried the XDA Search feature, but keep coming up blank... Does anyone have a link to the Eris ringtones, alerts, and alarm sounds? I know I used Happy for my ring and Ascend for my Alert, if that helps. Can't remember what I was using for the Alarm...
Any help would be super appreciated! Hope all is well, Eris users! If you're considering a Charge, feel free to PM me and I'll give you the entire run-down against the Eris, etc.

Unless someone beats me to it I'll put them in a zip and upload them. Or you could grab one of the sense roms and pull what you want from system/media/audio

Thanks! I'd have pulled them myself, but my personal computer (a seven year old ThinkPad) died and I've only got my corporate laptop now. I'm hesitant to bring my Android fetish onto that box.

Here you go. Ringtones, Notification sounds and alarm sounds pulled from Sense 2.1. This is not flashable.

Read Out of Text Messages

So I had my bionic in my car mount and received a text message. The phone then preceded to read it to me.
I haven't seen this anywhere but is there a way to gain this functionality when walking around?
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
Settings text to speech and accessibility should help and handcent sms allows only text message readout on the press of a button if memory serves
I kind of wish I could disable this feature.
It kind of got me in trouble one day

I can imagine....
I went through the settings and there isn't anything there to configure when its available.
The Casio G-Zone Commando has a "read out" app that will read any unread messages when you press the app icon. I have looked for the app but can't find it. If I'm able to find a Commando ROM ans extract the apk, do you thing it would work? Hmm, I guess I know my evening.
I have never liked things like handsent or third party apps that do what I already have a core app to do. It just seems like bloat

I agree but they work well as a temp fix until you find the solution
I think this would be a pretty cool thing if I could get it to work.
It didn't take me long to find a commando system dump, but a couple of hours later I am no closer to finding the apk.
I would GREATLY appreciate any help. On the commando there is an app called "read out" and it has the same icon as the text messaging app. If you touch the icon it will read your unread messages to you.
I figure (total guess) that it is interfacing with the picotts.apk like the bionic does in car mode. The bionic has the picotts.apk already, so I want to try installing the read out thing to see of it works.
Does anyone know what the read out apk is named? Or if this would work?

Give me a link to what you are working with and I will take a look, but I am no dev so no promises
Also this seems to work well https://market.android.com/details?id=de.exesmobile.messagereader

I saw there were a couple of apps, what I liked about this was it's almost more of a widget. Nothing opens you touch it and it reads. The down side to an app is if I have to open an app to use it I might at well read the message myself.
I appreciate the help. I know I probably sound like an idiot

So I was able to check out a Commando and the "read out" is a 1x1 widget, not an app. The commando is the only phone I have seen this on.
Is there a chance that the pico apk is different on the commando and has that widget? If so can I install that version and have it work?
I like the widget because I don't want every message read out. I don't see the point in a seperate messaging app, because I could just open and read the message. But the widget I could find useful if I'm on Bluetooth or busy with something and don't want to stop and read. Just tap the screen and continue doing what I'm doing!

Unfortunetely commando forums are few are far between and not a lot of help.

Sucks. Any devs got some free time, and want to work on something a little unique?
So you think that's it, its a different Pico apk?

Check out VLingo in the Market. It has a setting that will read your SMS messages for you. There is even a handy widget to turn it on and off.
I like Car Dock Home v3 for full customizing and use Tasker for everything. It would be trivial to create a task that says to read an incoming text out loud based on docking status or location or time or whatever, and even automatically respond.

Notification toggle switch

I'm looking for a notification bar toggle switch to flash to stock like the custom roms have on them. I know there are some apps that do this but they aren't quite the same as many of them launch a popup. I mainly need to add wifi, GPS, and Bluetooth toggles to the notification bar for fast access (only turn GPS on when in car dock and need the toggle to turn it on once in car mode since I use an alternative car app and can't go into Android options)
Any help would be appreciated

Head over to my droid world. Look up bionic mods.
DroidJunk has 1 there the only requirement is deodexed. Even easier google DroidJunk
Thank you. I like the stock, but can't live.without the toggles (GPS and wifi). More specifically, I should say that I like Motorola's email and all in one messaging apps. Other than those and zumocast, I don't particularly care. Unfortunately 2 out of the 3 only work with stock from my previous experiences.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
I have tryed all of the email apps pay and free. Have never found an better one than the Moto's email and all in one messaging apps. Also, it is the only one that allows custom fonts for signature. I also love zumocast and use it daily.
You should know, you can use any of the old droid th3ory blury roms. They let you keep the Moto email and aio messaging.
I use [k]in3tx as I don't particularly care the stock colors and theme.
The only other email app I like is the default Gmail app. Not all my email addresses are Gmail so I also need the Motorola email app.

I have 2 other questions (probably wouldn't even ask if the bionic community wasn't so disorganized) . Do you know where I can find a deodexed.zip that is for the 902 update? The one I found was for an earlier build. Also, do the roms you mentioned work with 902?
Sent from the Evil Empire
I found the 902 deodex so I don't need that answered. Apparently, I'm going to have to stop looking at xda as the first source for Android development (kind of strange for me since on my old phones, this was the main spot to go to find anything)

Do you happen to know where I can find some flashable lock screens?

Well there are so many out there... But They all seem to lock up, Or double lock your device.
Recently I found Mylocker It uses the huge MIUI Library of themes And never interferes with the phone's sop. It is fantastic! In the market, And free. And it'll give you a taste of MIUI. Market link below

Sorry, I use the xda app and don't see a thanks button. But thank you. Sorry it doesn't help your stats but at least you know I appreciated the help.

[Q] "News and Weather" from the Droid 1

Way back when I had a Droid 1, there was a very simple app on there (it came with the phone) that was simply called "news and weather". How can I go about getting that little thing back? It was clean and simple... and I was quite upset when I changed phones and lost it.
Any help here would be awesome! My daughter has a Droid 1, but it is not rooted and I really don't want to mess with her phone or possibly break it simply to try and get that. Any ideas?
As long as it's not a moto blur app you should be able to rip the app from her ROM then push it to your phone. If the app FCs, then it was not meant to happen. You may have to root the Droid to rip the app.
Alternatively, you could just ask someone for the app in the Droid forum here on xda. Then just copy it to the correct app folder.
