[APP]ATT Manila 2.5 2013 from leaked ROM - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile ROM Development

I haven't seen anyone post this yet so here it is. I pulled Manila 2.5 from the leaked ROM. I removed the ATT tab and CFC Compressed everything. I can confirm that it is working in a custom ROM that I am using.
In true ATT form this is outdated even before it is released so I am not sure if anyone will need it but here you go just in case.
This is the EXT package formatted for the OsKitchen for Chefs only. If you don't know what to do with it then you should read up before you even bother downloading.
I am not sure who posted the ROM first but obviously that person should get any credit. And Chainfire for the excellent CFC GUI of course. Also, If you haven't tried it yet, I strongly recommend the osKitchen by airxtreme and OndraSter.

Thanks for the contribution, worked well

The most stable least modified rom.

I have been going through the different roms availible on this forum. And I would like some suggestions. What I would like is a ROM that is as close as possible to the original rom but with som speed tweaks. It should of course include the latest version of opera an all other software integrated. I used Duttys and was quite happy with that one. The problem with it was that it had Voice command pre installed. Since I am swedish that doesn't work for me.
You could always cook your own rom . The kitchen is there.

Note WM6.5 Unofficial v5

Dear cooks and X1 users,
I would like to share with you that I've been using WM6.5 Unofficial v5 and it has no problems at all. It is Xperia to the finish pure all X1 and the most important thing that I like is the battery drain. It is very good. Not as fast as the others. On standby, Occasional Wifi and playing around sms etc so far i've not charged for 3days with level low on third day.
To me it looks like it's almost equiv to 6.1 usage and speed is awsome. Chefs you all make very cool stuff that Sony cannot. Keep it up. X1 will be there for long thanx to you guys and testers here. Try cook with this ROM WM6.5 v5.
Plzzzzzzzz chefs some the ROMS are very good could you please give it a Xperia finish coz sometyms we see htc boot splash. Let it be all XPERIA. welcome splash can be custom to cook but original is still good. Your name can be in the usual place Device Information. Kept sweet.
We can all share thoughts. So far veryyyyyyyyyyyy cool guyz.

thanks for the local promo lol
the unoff 6.5 v5 is the best rom that i have flashed. Pure Xperia and not to forget to mention the cool unoff theme alongwith.
thanks a ton for this rom.
And thanks alot spikegotti for having this ROM.
One of the great things about XDA devs is the amount of choice available. I have a completely different taste to you ... I prefer win 6.1 Roms with manila, as I like the speed of 6.1, and the manila dialer and stuff like audiobooster are essentials for me.
Each to their own, and as long as we have all the great chefs here, there'll always be a ROM to suit every taste!
Yeah that is true. All tastes diff. Only problem with manila new builds is that landscape not yet available from OEM later or even soon the cooks will do it. I like 6.1 too coz of the userbility and this 6.5v5 is clean X1 and fast too. It might not be official release but it looks official. Nothing fails. 6.1 still gud. R3A still buggy. 6.5v5 I have noticed no bug yet.
My problem is I love perfection and most chefs hv that edge. My eye is open. hahahaha. Sweet.
Help Applying ROM
Guys - have downloaded the wm6.5.5 kovsimy extract file - use the nbh extract executable to extract the OS file - copied the OS file to my storage card - how the heck do you apply the os?????
Cheers
JB
The UnOff ROM is just what I've been looking for I've to say. After using it for the last few days now, not only do I have this original "my" phone feeling but also nice to see the new stuff in WM6.5 combined with the original X1 stuff that works perfect ! Thanks Spikegotti.
Edit: Please keep up the originality whenever you upgrade the rom
thanks for the kudos n flashing, and yes the rom will be strictly original and updated with the latest build that wont cause issues with the panel manager and some apps like resco file manager
UnOff ROM is the best. I use my phone for business - heavy heavy user and I would have to pull the battery one most other roms atleast once a day. This ROM hasn't kacked on me yet (4 days and counting!). No gimmicks - just clean and fast.

Are all the 6.5 ROMs available here are BETAs?

I am a little confused (as usual)...
1.Many HTC phones have a 6.5 runinng, but also have Manila 2.X rite?
2. I want an original OS upgrade from 6.1 to 6.5 (NOT BETA or cooked ROMs plz)
3. what would be better:
the home screen of HTC phones Manila 2.5 or .6 OR
the WinmO 6.5 home screen...
(basically i just want to know the links of an original, OEM OS 6.5)
Thanx a ton!!

Hey yaar...Just keep im mind that there is no official 6.5 upgrade for Xperia X1 till now...It was told like SE will not be releasing an OS upgrade for xperia x1...So if you want to upgrade you can try those cooked roms out there...There are a lot of them out there you can try and stick on one that you like...If you like the manil 2.5 interface you can try Sonblack's releases, I think a new one will be releasing today...There are lot of other ROMs based on manila...
There's no official 6.5 update, so if you want an official release you're stuck with the original 6.1 build.
Your choices are simple:
a) Stay on 6.1
or
b) Try one of the excellent (unofficial) ROMs on the site. You can always go back to your official ROM if you can't find one you like.
Just try some.
Each UI has something which you like or dislike
1. Manila:
- Eye candy
- Easier to access programs
but:
- Need more ram
- Manila 2.5 doesn't support landcape
- Camera works not right
2. Default 6.5 UI:
- Quick
- Need less ram
but:
- harder to access programs
- not change much compare to the 6.1 one
no no..u guys didnt get me,

no offense meant...but as you are posting in the rom section, why don't you start reading there as well?
there's killer8nl (christians), gtrab (pure windows), spikegotti (unoff) and who knows how many more with clean roms (most based on X1, some on other devices), sounds like what you are looking for and most of them are on page 1 too...just choose one
Spikegotti's ROM (unoff) seems to be the cleanest version. search for it and flash it.
Cheers!
thanx guys....DrakenKorin, point taken..
i will look for cleanest ROM...also, how does the OS adjust to the hardware??
Like, the OS running in X2 is also 6.5..the one running in HTC HD also is (perhaps) 6.5..so which one should i download and flash??
also, wil the panel interface be wiped out...or, shud i simply download X2 clean ROM??
yeah, both of them(x2 and HTC HD2) are using 6.5
x2 specs is same with x1, you can down the x2(cooked room) to flash. Because x2 hasn't released yet.
Anyway, if you looking for x1 clean room, you should check unoff version or pure one.
just one question...on the killer8nl's tutorials, it says i need to HardSPL...then it says the mirco SD method..am i supposed to do both or simply put the thing in my SD card and go ahead (volume down+power button) and go ahead...??
BTW: what does "doing HardSPL" mean..it means back up rite???

hardspl is strictly mandatory and what you have to do first, otherwise no ROM update possible!
then you can choose whether you take custom_ruu or sd method
I prefer sd, that way you are more flexible and don't need to sync with PC
hardspl is a second program loader stored on your device, nothing to do with backup
there are tutorials for everything (all sticky)
Hard-SPL
custom ruu method
sd card method
how to flash
always hard reset afterwards
Ok..so how do i get the X2 OS on my X1..(i know im gonna see a lot of xperts fume with this question)
DrakenKorin...thanx for your help..i just realized that even though many phones have 6.5 OS, their interfaces vary from device to device..i just saw the X2 review again and decided i want that OS..its superb, (i didnt like the tile interface)..so now, again where do i get this OS?? (as before, clean and [un] Official)
thanx a ton once again!
2. I want an original OS upgrade from 6.1 to 6.5 (NOT BETA or cooked ROMs plz)
............................................................................................................
there aren't any beta roms here anymore dude, ALL 6.5 roms you find here (meaning the recent ones) are completed builds, newer builds are just updates to the previous
there aren't anything known as and un-cooked rom as in not cooked, it must be cooked/compiled in order to be a rom, because the files and folders from microsoft must be compiled with OEM stuff and other goodies to make it a flashable ROM
if you mean you need something clean as if it came from SEUS, then try any two of my roms on my sig
WOW!!
i got spikegotti to reply to me....thanx a lot man...it feels really good to speak to some experts like u anyways, when i search on XDA X2 ROM, i mainly get all the BETAs...
1. there is a RAW dump(and it strictly says for the experts)
2.then there is a ROM uploaded....
so cant figure out which one is the full and final one.
spikegotti..i just did a lil research on my own and figured out that i want the X2 ROM, as is...is that possible..reading the pages ofthe forum, lot of small things need to be installed even after a 6.5 update..so is there a way i can get the whole ROM, as is in the X2....???
once again, Thanx a ton!
There will be NO full X2 roms published until the X2 is released...anything on here...including the dump made by Gtrab are not complete as the dump was from a prototype device...
Regards,
WC
There is no full and final X2 on X1 Rom. The only X2 Rom available is Jerpelea's X2 Test rom, but as the name says it's still in test, and it drains your battery in a day.
Try UnOff X1.5 it has most of the X2 stuff on it and is wm6.5, and work quitte smooth.
Personally i like X-2-Touch, It has a stable manilla 2.1 interface and wm6.1 but with the x2 stuff included, works very fast.
Thanx Aerox912 and wild child....i also wanted to know of X1 and X2 are similar when it comes to hardware???
So, if in the near future i upgrade it to X2's OS, there wont be any hardware issue rite??
X2 isnt out yet???
the date was November 6, and a user has already put up a video of unboxing his new X2..why cant we ask him simply to upload the OS??
What say??
Has been delayed....my distributor usually gets them asap and they have been bumped back till beginning of 2010...yes they are similar in hardware....it was a prototype he got....not retail version....retail version would NOT delete all installation files after hard reset...counter productive...he did dump his os....but is not full dump...
Regards,
WC

also note that there will be changes in the rom of the x2 from what is in the x2s which were distributed...reason is that the x2 is in the surgery room at sony ericsson lol, from the xperiancers blog
"Hi All – Over the last couple of weeks there has been a few, OK more than a few rumours that the X2 is going to be delayed until January and I’m sure it will not come as a surprise when we say that these are well founded.
The software worked fine but when we started integrating it with some of the network specific apps it threw up a few issues which we’re working to fix.
It’s all minor tweaks really (extending the battery life and speeding up aspects of the software), but we want to be sure that when we ship this it is as good as it should be and that you don’t have to constantly upgrade the software as we iron out these wrinkles.
So… we’re launching first week of January. Really sorry if you were looking forward to getting hold of one before then but it will be worth it when we get there.
Thanks for your continued interest in the site.
Aaron"
i suspect this came directly from aaron duke who is the x2 brand manager
so, let's wait and see what is new in the weeks to come

I don't mean to complicate this thread, but I would consider any and all 6.5.1 based ROMS beta considering MS hasn't official released it and there are absolutely no official devices running it. In short, the version of WM6.5 with the start button at the top is no longer a work in progress, but the version with the start button at the bottom for as much as we know is a work in progress, and thus a beta version.

What is the most stable 6.5.X rom?

I ask because I'm new to this device and I'm moving from a device that got very little attention. Right now I'm using Energy Rom "Leo" 23518 Jan 20th. I want to know as I'm sure most others would like to aswell. This thread will not only evaluate rom stability as a whole but see which ones are more popular. I'm sorry if someone thinks this belongs in general but I think its more useful here.
PS: Please mention UC compatibility as that's an important factor in choosing a rom aswell.
i was using Energy Rom "Leo" 23518 Jan 20th along with the previous versions from the day i got my tp2. very cool roms. I think he is great at making custom roms but since tmobile released there 6.5 i flashed it to check it out and was going to go back to the energy rom but i gotta tell ya the official tmo rom suprised me so much im leaving it on my device. besides a few reg modifications and adding a few of the apps that normally come with most of the custom roms on here. The tmo rom is the best to me. 3 of the biggest issues i had with most of the custom roms ive tried were memory usage, freezing to the point i have to reboot and the clock being wrong.
"best rom" threads are not allowed, closing thread.

CHT on 6.1?

Happy Thanksgiving guys! Been thankful for the helpful tips and tricks with my lovely X1 I bought last year's Black Friday event!
Quick question.
How do I get Cookie's Home Tab to work on my Win6.1 platform? I read on that you need Manila or Sense 2.5, any download links for those will help. Search function, yes, but I dont know which one pertaining to 6.1!
Thanks in advance
Maybe I'm wrong but I guess you'll need to flash another ROM incl. Sense... AFAIK Sense is not available as "installable application".
1. hardSPL
2. download new ROM (e.g. Energy ROM, see link in my signature)
3. flash from SD (instructions here)
^Thanks, just got it done yesterday. Installed Valkyrie rom, but it came with outdated 1.8 ver. instead of 2.0 D:
Valkyrie is a bit dead rom meaning that agent is developing only if major updates take place. I was ex-valkyrie-fun. However I believe that he has released a rom with cht2 (at least beta version).
why dont u try energy rom? it has for sure what you need...

I switched from Valkyrie to 826x. 826x had no additional add-ons, just the ROM upgrade, so it was really convenient to switch. Now running CHT + Editor 2.0.0.
Still trying to get use to the low battery fluctuations compared to a Stock ROM, but loving the new interface and programs it can run now!
