Around 9 AM EDT today, I looked at the face of my Motorola Droid and found it waiting for me to give the go ahead to install. The 45.2 MB file had already been quietly downloaded over the 3G network.
When I clicked to proceed with installation, it took about 5 minutes. After coming up, an additional reboot happened after I got into the phone. Once up and running, it was slow for about 10 minutes.

Hi,
I would like to understand better what is what with respect to my phone. FYI, purchased with Optus (Australia), using Three (AU again of course), rooted before with one click root for Titanium, then got upgrade to 2.2 Froyo through Kies (great now Skype works, if wifi doesnt drop). Then rooted again with z4root. I now got it on 2.2 for about 3 days and trying to get the most out of the phone. Below info on my phone and I would like more explanation on what is what.
Baseband version I9000DTJP3
(what does baseband do, why ends with JP3?)
Kernel version 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #7
(what does "kernel" do?)
Build number FROYO.DTJP5
(why now JP5?)
PDA:JP5 / PHONE:JP3 / CSC:JP4
(why JP3,4 and 5?)
Is it OK to have JP3, 4, and 5... or did something go wrong during my upgrade and should it all be JP5?
Internal 2.01 GB
DB data 133 MB
SD card 14.4 GB
Ext SD card 15.9 GB
So mine is a 16GB model right?
On "My Samsung" Australia website I can choose between:
GT-I9000
GT-I9000/M16
GT-I9000/RM16
GT-I9000T
GT-I9000T/M8
GT-I9000/M8
Which one is mine? What does the M, RM, and T stand for?
Any suggestions on getting the most out of my phone? (wifi fix my post 1, post 2, lag fix, how to create my own boot animation?, how to call record?, other possible issues/solutions)
Your on stock jp5 which is the optus rom.
Baseband is your modem
PDA is your rom being jp5
CSC is your apn settings for your specific carrier being the optus network

Hi, I currently just rooted my phone using RegawMOD Hero rooter v1.3. Worked like a charm no problems then I rebooted my phone. My Wi-Fi is now unable to start. I've been reading non-stop and haven't found a way to fix this problem without factory resetting my phone. I'm also S-OFF using revokeds method, but did that after the WiFi problem, so it isn't that. I uninstalled and updated all apps thinking it was an app problem, but still no fix.
Sprint and Cellular South Heros are virtually identical with the same updates.
Thank you for your time.
Phone Specs:
CDMA - Cellular South
Firmware : 2.1 update 1
Baseband Version : 2.42.01.04.23
Kernel : 2.6.29 - ba77cf03
Build # (Software) : 2.45.557.1 CL261951
PRI Version : 2.51_013
If you need more specs I'm more than happy to post them.

I assume you tried the old "reboot fix" lol. I would say before you go all dev/tweak crazy, maybe try the app on the market called "FXR WiFi fix and rescue".
i had that problem once too. i thought it was the rom that i had loaded, didn't have time to flash new at the time, but then it resolved itself.
If your s-off your cool. Just back up all your data. Reboot into recovery and try a full wipe. Or try flashing a different kernel. Right now you have no wifi so all you do is gain.

Hi,
After a chain of stupid flash attempts to get ice cream sandwich working, I've completely bricked my tab. It seems P1000 ROM does not work with P1000R Rogers version tabs. Anyhow, I flashed back to stock Gingerbread but now I don't see PHONE ICON anywhere. It's completely gone. Phone recognizes SIM card inserted and shows all information related to SIM - my phone number & carrier name - in the (About Tablet > Status) panel.
In the 'About Tablet' window, it shows
Model number
GT-P1000R
Firmware version
2.3.3
Baseband version
P1000XXJPZ << looks like something's missing after or before here
Kernel version
2.6.35.7
[email protected] #2
Build number
GINGERBREAD.UXKG1
I've used Odin 3 and Clockwork Mod Recovery and tried Ice Cream Sandwich ROM linked here and MIUI ROM as well - Nothing was successful with my tab. I think I've flashed modem firmware (modem.bin) by clicking the 'Phone' button on the Odin 3 without knowing what it does.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi guys and thanks for taking the time to read,
I decided to factory reset my note 4 the other day, and no for some reason it will not connect to my service provider at all(T-mobile). I tried inserting the sim card into other phones and they work fine and pick up service. I am not sure what to do. I bought this phone off craigslist a few days ago, so I just wanted to factory reset it to wipe it. It was connecting to my provider and data was working prior to the reset. Another thing I noticed that is my IMEI changed. It was some random 15 number before but now when i check it it is 15 consecutive ones like so : 111111111111111/01
Specs for the phone as follows:
Model number - SM-N910F
Android Version - 4.4.4
Baseband Version - MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V34, 2014/09/30 12:06
Kernel Version - 3.10.0-2828982

Tue Apr 28 11:37:34 CST 2015
Build Number - KTU84P.N9100ZCU1ANIF
Custom Build Version - I9228_I968_A.A-V8.0_0428
Does anyone know how to get my note back up and running again?
Thanks for you're help
So here's my situation. A long while ago (June 20 2014) I loaded up a custom CyanogenMod ROM onto my phone. I followed the instructions and I THINK I may have a backup somewhere that I made (on the phone itself) but I am unsure how to check on it.
That said, I've had issues with 'unlocking' my phone to use another carrier's SIM CARD. I tried the MetroPCS-provided ones and they didn't work so before I delay further I wanted to see if going back to MetroPCS-stock would work with the unlocking process.
So I want to go back to MetroPCS Stock and before I do I want to know what to do and how to do it. Old threads from other spots on the forum are either too confusing or conflicting.
-I have the Samsung Mobile Drivers installed
-I have Odin v3.04 on my Win7 x64 computer
-I need advice on how to proceed to get back to where I was before doing any custom ROM stuff and I want to know how to check if I already have a recovery somewhere on the phone itself. I'm afraid the original thread where I got the ROM has poofed (somehow?) so I'm not sure which recovery I have.
-I want to know if I can do a full backup of EVERYTHING that is on my phone now before I go back to MetroPCS-stock and then when I am done unlocking the phone I can revert back to what I have now. I just want a working phone before experimenting further with any newer ROMs or potentially bricking the phone.
