[SHARE?] Development MDSN Community Distribution CD's - Off-topic

[Q] [SHARE?] Development MDSN Community Distribution CD's
I can only upload a whole CD not any part of it, due to licences!
I do not want to reupload until my ISP shuts me down!
I prefer to upload via Bittorrent.., though can manage to upload it to UseNet (NNTP) instead! Give a holler here in this thread (do not PM me).
My downloaded Development MDSN Community Distribution CD's (for some strange cq unknown reason Microsoft disabled this link , which I used for years );

An better overview can be obtained when the attached MSDN Community Distribution.mhtml.zip is unpacked and read! *.mhtml is supported standard in nearly every Opera browser, some Internet Explorers (MS made their derivate called MAFF), not standard in FireFox, though with an Addon it works great both for viewing and saving!
Q: "what about these CD's?"
A: My answer "do a search on http://www.bing.com for "community distribution cd" with quotes"; you'll be amazed what's on these fine CD's. Try and grab them yourself!!
My two questions;
Are there people out there with previous CD's, who can share them?
How do you want me to distribute these CD's?
BitTorrent ; I'd like to share 'm via BT (or UL them to NNTP, while already seeding 'm)
UseNet (NNTP) (included in each post an individual *.torrent file for easy seeding).
An alternative maybe? Anyone??!
IRC - anyone knows a good 100Mbit+ Site Affil ?
XDA_FTP = not an option in my humble opinion
To share or not to share? That is an old question.
If to share then how to share? That is the modern question.

UPDATE, Jan 20th 2008 - I've stopped updating this thread since it isn't getting much traffic. Most people are posting the latest news to the HTCCLassAction.org discussion thread.
It seems there are several threads going around with links to internet coverage on the HTC driver issue. I thought it best to put them all together in one thread, for reference and encouragement!
Feel free to post new articles in this thread, and I'll update this post.

"In diverse fora wordt melding gemaakt van het feit dat de videodrivers niet helemaal in orde lijken te zijn en dat de filmpjes schokkerig worden afgespeeld. Moon is niet bekend met het probleem. “Maar als het werkelijk zo is komt er uiteraard een update”, aldus Moons"
Quick translate: Different forums have discussions going on about the driver issue , but a spokesmen from htc says he is not know with this problem.
But if their appears to be a problem it will be fixed.
bump bump!
i've read that the tilt will be one of the first two phones to get the WM6.1 update. if so, this is probably an issue that will be fixed then.
still i LOVE that they are getting this abuse. i'm sick of these companies that respond to an avalanche of complaints with silence. they should at least give an indication of what they are going to do so consumers can make informed decisions.

I've already emailed all three of them twice but no news yet. If someone else could fire off e-mails as well perhaps that would change their mind (don't spam them though).
undac, I think I'm going to include, in my first post, links to web sites that we should should try to contact about the driver issue. Any others you had in mind?

Not really but we could all help out and compile such a list. Especially non-international ones (I've contacted all appropriate sites/magazines in my country (sweden) I suggest other people do the same.
Don't forget to fire off emails to PDA related consumer print magazines like Smartphone & pocket pc magazine.
Their newsdesks love this sort of thing as well as site like BBC technology and BBC click

Engadget Mobile's post is hilarious!

Microsoft to free up its software codes

Microsoft to free up its software codes
BY RICHARD J. DALTON JR | [email protected]
February 22, 2008
Local software developers can more easily develop products that work with Vista, Office and other Microsoft products now that the software giant will release free documentation for developers, executives said.
Microsoft, which previously released such information only under a trade-secret agreement, charging licensing fees and royalties, said yesterday it would release the information free online.
The change comes a month after the European Union launched an antitrust investigation on suspicions Microsoft blocked developers of competing software from gaining access to its products.
The European Union expressed skepticism at Microsoft's shift, saying the "announcement follows at least four similar statements by Microsoft in the past on the importance of interoperability."
Microsoft also has been forced to open its software because of the growing open-source movement, which makes software code freely available so others easily can integrate applications with it.
Microsoft said it would immediately release 30,000 pages of documents on Windows software that runs PCs and centralized computer servers, followed by similar information on Office 2007.
Dan Galvez, managing partner of Hedgehog Development Llc, a software and technology consulting company in Holbrook, said the release is "a huge benefit."
Hedgehog recently created customized software to allow an international bank based in Manhattan to manage and share research documents using Microsoft Office.
"We weren't able to take advantage fully of Word," Galvez said. "We had to build our own functionality."
But with Microsoft's documentation, Hedgehog would have been able to use built-in tools from Microsoft Office to design the software for the bank, speeding up the development time, Galvez said.
It's like seeing "the secret recipe of grandma's homemade sauce," said Bob Venero, president and chief executive of software developer Future Tech Enterprise Inc., based in Holbrook. "They're giving those ingredients that help make Microsoft what it is." Recently, Future Tech installed software that allows health-care personnel to instantly view X-rays on PCs. But the software remains separate from Office.
With the upcoming release of the Office documentation, Future Tech would be able to seamlessly integrate the software with Office, making it easier to e-mail the X-rays via Outlook software or place it in a Word document.
"I call it 'open-source day,'" Venero said of yesterday's announcement. "I think it's a huge deal."

and this means what???
It has to refer to the API's, which have always been closed
OMG!!! the end of the world is near.
Sweet! Lots in internal Windows APIs have already been discovered & documented by others like Russinovich in his famed Windows Internals books, but as far as I know no one has done the same for Office. Be a huge boon for me developing document processing software.

Google Buys Micro$soft for 290 Billion Dollars

Google has worked with several corporations, in order to improve production and services. On September 28, 2005,Google announced a long-term research partnership with NASA which would involve Google building a 1-million square foot R&D center at NASA's Ames Research Center. NASA and Google are planning to work together on a variety of areas, including large-scale data management, massively distributed computing, bio-info-nano convergence, and encouragement of the entrepreneurial space industry. The new building would also include labs, offices, and housing for Google engineers.[56] In October 2006, Google formed a partnership with Sun Microsystems to help share and distribute each other's technologies. As part of the partnership Google will hire employees to help the open source office program OpenOffice.org.[57]
Time Warner's AOL unit and Google unveiled an expanded partnership on December 21, 2005, including an enhanced global advertising partnership and a $1 billion investment by Google for a 5% stake in AOL.[58] As part of the collaboration, Google plans to work with AOL on video search and offer AOL's premium-video service within Google Video. This did not allow users of Google Video to search for AOL's premium-video services. Display advertising throughout the Google network will also increase.
In August 2003, Google signed a $900 million offer with News Corp.'s Fox Interactive Media unit to provide search and advertising on MySpace and other News Corp. websites including IGN, AmericanIdol.com, Fox.com, and Rotten Tomatoes, although Fox Sports is not included as a deal already exists between News Corp. and MSN.[59][60]
On 6 December 2006, British Sky Broadcasting released details of a Sky and Google alliance.[61] This includes a feature where Gmail will link with Sky and host a mail service for Sky, incorporating the email domain "@sky.com".
In 2007, Google displaced America Online as a key partner and sponsor of the NORAD Tracks Santa program.[62][63][64]Google Earth was used for the first time to give visitors to the website the impression that they were following Santa Claus' progress in 3-D.[65] The program also made its presence known on YouTube in 2007 as part of its partnership with Google.[66]
In January 2009, Google announced a partnership with the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, allowing the Pope to have his own channel on YouTube
I highly doubt that's true. If anything it would be microsoft buying Google...

This would be simply amazing though if it was a reality
Alright, for those amongst us whom have not come to realize why this will never happen:
1. Google stands for openness, Microsoft stands for opening your wallet.
2. Google's motto is "Do no evil". They might have failed many times, but they still try to uphold it. Bill Gates is now trying to buy his way into heaven.
3. Google's browser, Chrome is a good browser for fast browsing and excellent for content consumption. IE is only good for downloading Firefox or Chrome.
4. Google stands for innovation and openness. Microsoft used to fire people for working on own projects.
Looking at the cultural differences, any business analyst would have seen through it and realized the Google's buyout will result in a mass lay-off of MS employees. On top of that, Google would never have been able to afford the deal (unless they promise share for share exchange).
Last but not least, SEC would have blocked the deal. 100% of all searches in USA would be controlled by one entity (Yahoo is powered by Bing, remember?) and that goes against the anti-trust laws.
'nuff said.
