What operator are you on? All of the recent ROMs do not work on Orange UK. The phone and txt message functionality is broken.
As for not showing the ROM version, this always happens after a crash. Just reset again as soon as you see "NONE".
am a bit lost here.
am on orange UK and evreything works ok with this rom.
just thought i point that out.

Before you complain that users cant help you, try helping yourself. You will find that people are more willing to invest their time then!

Wierd, you are the first to come forward to say that it works fine for you. Myself and a couple of other users haven't been able to get reliable telephony for months now. It may be a regional thing, perhaps only in Scotland. I've had replacement phones and I still have problems.
No one seems interested in helping as it's not something that can be easilly tested unless you have the problem yourself.
i was looking for hte downgrade link ill give that a go tomorrow, as tot he person that said i should try helping, how can i help if i dont know anything? we all need to learn and start somewhere. think ill be staying away from here with my spvm600 if thats the attitude this place is takeing.
Hey, it wasn't intended at you, obviously. What I was basically saying was that if you have the same problem, then don't expect a fix as it's a tough one to fix.
could it happen that you are one of those who downloaded the rom which someone had the gall to replace the original one? which rom upgrade did you use?
i cant remmeber what rom it was that i used now as it was about 2 months ago i done it, ive tried the downgrade link that was posted and when i open maupgrade it dosent see any rom on my device or any in the folder and when i click up grade it takes about 10 sconds then says tis done, which is obviously isnt dont, any mroe ideas please people?

use one of the latest (i.e. helmi's or xplode's) and upgrade again. be sure to follow the instructions (including that for device data, and the no/yes/yes input). make sure also you were able to download the whole file (it was a problem for some users).
you might also want to upgrade your radio version (1.15.00).
good luck.
ok, i am totally confused. i had flashed to three different roms since joining this forum. i tried to flash ttrans OTv5.0UL and nothing happens. bootloader comes up, screen goes white, generic pda menu opens and all seems fine. when phone starts back up, all of my original setting are there just like if i only did a soft reset. i tried again with a different rom and the same thing happens. i have tried 4 times and nothing. can someone please let me know what i am doing wrong
when did you buy your wing???
and are you using flashcenter ?? so it can temporary cid unlock the device?
i got my wing in feb or march 08. yes i do have flash center, and i have used it w/o problems before. i have flashed from touch it to open touch and one of aserg's roms too. i have been using OT 4 lite black for weeks now. i have been watching the threads about the new OT 5. so i downloaded it and nothing new is flashing.

iwas hoping not to bother any of the main guys with this little problem, but i'm glas your here (love your OT's btw ). ok, i am using the standard activesync method.
heres what i do:
1. download new rom and put it inside my RUU folder on my computer's C drive.
2. run the herald-uspl.exe.
3. follow the prompts
thats all i do and it used to work. i don't know if this helps, but it's the only other thing i have been doing diff. on another thread i asked if it was ok to delete old roms out of my RUU folder. i actually removed my OT v4 lite black and then put the OT v5 UL and ran the uspl. do you think thats what it is? maybe you have to have your old version in the RUU before you flash to a new version?
hope this helps
No. You don't have to have anything but your newest ROM in the RUU folder. When flashing, the phone doesn't know or care what you currently have flashed, unless that ROM is causing problems with your active sync. If that's the case, place your phone into bootloader mode, install the stock ROM (unless you have a HardSPL phone, and it sounds like you don't since you're using USPL.) Then boot up the ROM and run the USPL.
ok, so now know what to do, but why did this happen? whats wrong with the herald-uspl?
i just checked my device info and it says im running open touch v3! i thought that i was using v4. i have hard-spl downloaded, but i dont know if i need to use it or not. should it? then try to flash?
Unlock your phone with hars spl then run the exe from ruu folder. This method worked for me. I did not try the other way since my phone is unlocked but it should work aswell.

I'm sure you already did this, but I'll throw it out there. Did you leave the original .nbh file in the ruu folder? I don't think you can have more than one .nbh file in that directory.

OT-5UL looks great all around. this is my first time with ultimatelaunch, so thats cool too. i haven't been able to go thru the posts for some of the fix issues. the only thing i'm a bit bummed about is the amount of memory left after the flash (program-20) i'll keep playing with it. hey thanks again for the fix

i'm gonna let the pro's go as far as they can with the OT V5 UL version and then probably go back to v4. gonna miss the UL (damn).

The HardSPL makes it so that if you flash a bad flash, you don't have to flash into the Stock RUU again just to get a working activesync connection to be able to flash again.
Courtesy of Ivanmmj
Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A4N36HLO
Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.
Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.
Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.
Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe
Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.
Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.

Hey, I was scared for a LONG time to do it...I read so much info before I finally decided to do it! It took me like 2 weeks of reading before I decided. It's an EXTREMELY simple process. Plus, it makes flashing easier. I was getting weird errors trying the USPL method sometimes. Anyway, just do this.
FIRST, make sure your IPL number is atleast 4.000 or higher. You can check this by holding the camera button down, and then doing a soft reset. HOld the camera button down till you enter the bootloader menu. (It's like 3 gradient colors).
If it's higher, great, you are ready to proceed.
Next, download this file.
http://rapidshare.de/files/38148213/...l_WM6.rar.html
Unzip it, and it will contain 3 .cab files you need to install in a certain order.
1. Install canonyang.cab
2. Next, aserpolicy.cab
3. disablesecurity.cab.
Do a soft reset.
Put phone in flight mode!!!!
Now, go to the folder you just unzipped that file from. I think the default folder will be called hard-splwm6 or something like that. Go and run the RUU.exe file in it. Just follow the instructions. The screen of your phone will go white, but just wait, wait, and it will reboot itself.
Presto, you are hard spl, and can load whatever rom you wish!
Hi. I already did a search for this but didn't find any help for a Herald.
I tried updating to 6.1 and it would not work. It would start to install but then crash and start over again. I probably tried 20 times and it would not work...not my phone is stuck on this screen with Red, Green, Blue and White stripes. Is my phone dead? Is there any hope? Thanks in advance!
This question is asked at least one or 5 times a week. Please search.
If your SPL still says 4.0.0.0, just flash another ROM. Assuming you have HardSPL setup or you were using USPL.
If your SPL says 1.0.0.0, then follow this.
Sorry like I already mentioned in my post I could not find a thread specifically for the Herald so I made a post.
My screen says IPL 4.26.0002 and then SPL 4.26.0000.

Anyhoo, have you tried just reflashing back to the stock ROM or another ROM?
Tell me exactly what you did to flash.
Went to T-Mobile site. Typed in my phone's info and downloaded the 6.1 update for Windows Mobile...followed the instructions to install. It would start installing and then stop or crash I can't remember exactly. But I tried many times. I called T-Mobile and they said I had to get a new phone. I've never flashed my phone or anything like that...I had Spb installed on it and that was it...
Well I took out my ol Wing and tried to do the update once again to remember what error I keep getting.
The update starts to install on my Wing as the bar loading bar starts to fill it stops and then tells me an error has occurred.
ERROR [262]: UPDATE ERROR
Some type of communication error. But I can recover. So I do and then I try again. I've done this like 20 times before. I don't know if that helps any but thats my problem...
First, find hardspl and flash then flash rom

Sounds like there's a problem with your computer talking to the phone. Try taking tmobile's ROM, take out the NBH, rename it to HERAIMG.nbh and place it into your SD card (formatted to FAT32.) Then turn on your phone while holding the camera button.

Please help me. I am freaking out. I flashed the HardSPL last night without a hitch. It went exactly like the instuctions said it would. Then I chose a ROM that I thought I liked and I downloaded the .zip file. In the thread for the ROM, there were no installation instructions so I just followed the instructions on the HardSPL thread. I extracted the files to my PC. I made sure I had Active Sync and internet connection. I had 100% battery life. I ran the CUSTOMRUU.exe file on my PC. I followed all of teh instruction on the installer. It was almost identical to the HardSPL installer so I was feeling confident. The installer finished and I clicvked the FINISH button. My phone then turned on, vibrated quickly, and showed the Touch Pro2 screen. That is all that happened. When I sof reset, the screen goes blank and it immediately happens again. I took my battery out to try to reset it that way, but when I put it back in I don't even need to ppush any buttons. It just vibrates and goes to the TP2 screen. I looked in the bootlocker and it says:
RHOD400 32M SS-BC
SPL-1.00.01Nex
MicroP(LED) 0x0A MicroP(KEY) 0x04
TURBO HW/TURBO SW
TP MFG DATA
501,520 775,190
222,843 Calibrated
Serial
I have, had, a Sprint Rhodium Touch Pro2
I sucessfully flashed the HardSPL
I attempted to flash Shadowline's new ROM for Rhodium :
RELEASE_Rhodium_28014M_Shadowline
I am heading to the store now to buy a new SD card to try to flash a new ROM that way. Should I flash the HardSPL again? Is there a stable ROM that I should flash? Any warnings or tips before I start?
Thank you all for all of your posts on this site. Even though I am really frustrated and scared right now, I am still glad I learned about all of this from you.
well Shadowline Series is for GSM.
Well, you flashed a gsm rom onto a cdma device, which is bad news. Try flashing a stock cdma rom onto your device, and you may be able to recover it.
get a cdma rom from the cdma forum
What is with the recent influx of people who can't read?
You've got the right HardSPL, i.e. the CDMA one. But it sounds like you've flashed a GSM ROM. You can re-flash a CDMA ROM though, don't worry. Go to the CDMA sub-forum and have a look there for ROMs, or ppcgeeks.com (who tend to specialise more on CDMA phones/ROMs).
You're right. I should have read more carefully. I thought when I redad that you could use any cooked ROM after the HardSPL flash, there wasn't an exception. I thought that I was prepared. Please don't say any other bad thing as I feel bad enough already. I think I learned my lesson to read more carefully by the fact that my new phone no longer works. I don't need bashed by anyone trying to reinforce the point. Thanks for your responses though.
Would someone please point me to the Stock ROM download that I need to try?

Everyone makes mistakes. I remember when I first bricked my Tilt 2. Oddly it was with a Shadowline rom as well. Not my fault it was my laptop but its a bad feeling to brick a new phone.
Thank you.
Since my carrier is Sprint, I should use the Sprint ROM? I know that is a dumb question, but I don't think I can be too carefull now. I want to try to do everything right this time.
I will download the .exe file.
Extract it using WinRAR
Copy the .nbh file to the root directory of my FAT32 formatted SD card.
Change the name of the file to RHODIMG.nbh
open the bootloader page by pressing the down volume button and the soft reset button together.
"Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update" - I'm a liitle concerned
Then I restart my phone and I'm happy again.
Please let me know if there is something I am leaving out or some tip/trick I can do to prevent further damage.
Thanks again.
WHich file do I use?
I downloaded the .exe file and it has two xxxx_signed.nbh files.
Which .nbh file do I put on the SD Card?
SPL_signed.nbh
OR
RUU_signed.nbh
**EDIT**
I read that the file should probably be the RUU_signed.nbh.
Thanks again for all of the replies. I am not giving up.
The update completed successfully.
Phone is still broken.
Is there any hope?
**EDIT**
I popped out the SD card to pack everything up back in the box and the phone started!!!!!!!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAD POSITIVE THINGS TO SAY AND HELP TO OFFER!
I've learned my lesson.
You don't have to use a Sprint ROM, but you *must* use CDMA-specific ROMs and radio versions. Just make sure to read very carefully the details of any ROM you wish to flash. If it doesn't say then it's probably a GSM ROM and you should avoid it.
Glad it's working now though
You should consider yourself lucky lol, my first experience flashing was with my HTC Titan with nTelos (CDMA) and I never did get it working fully again after flashing... And this was after months of going back and forth with customer service, tech support, etc... so I learned my lesson... Cancelled nTelos plan, switched to T-Mobile and bought a TP2 and haven't had any problems flashing since. But I was pretty upset about the Titan after I messed it up. Didn't brick it but couldn't get over 1X speeds which kinda defeats the purpose of a smartphone lol. Glad you got it working and more importantly learned your lesson without it costing you.

the thing happens to me too although I use GSM ROMs for my GSM device. When it happens I know that it's because of the PRHODIMG file in the root of my SD which I kept in there after flashing. So like you did I get out the SD card and then start the phone. No problems. I just have to move the RHODIMG file from root of SD. It didn't always happen this way before but now it does. like you described earlier the phonescreen gets stuck with messesage in the middle "serial"

u'll have to make the stock ROM ready to flash from SD. It means the .npb has to be extracted from your stock .exe. I don't know how to do that and I suppose neither do you . What I do is I create a folder called "ROMs" and put couple of ROMs in there with their folders. When i need to flash one I just copy the RHODIMG file to the root of SD and after i finished flashing, remove the SD first, set the phone up and then insert back the SD card and move the RHODIMG file back to it's place in the ROMs folder.

Actually, WinRAR extracts the .npb file from an .exe. At least that's how I got the Sprint Stock .npb file to put on my SD card. Maybe I am misunderstanding your post though. Are you suggesting that I can't just keep the stock RHODIMG.npb file on my SD card and have that as the only thing on the card and only use that SD card as my stock ROM flash?
Similar brick of my phone
Hi guys.
I have a similar problem from the first post but I'm trying to recover my brick HTC Touch Pro 2 - TMobile GSM. I think I flashed a CDMA ROM onto my phone instead of a GSM ROM.
My tri-color screen says:
RHOD210 32M SS-BC
SPL-0.79.0000
MicroP(LED) vA
MicroP(KEY) v4
TURBO HW/TURBO SW
NO TP MFG DATA
Serial
I don't know what to do next or how to unbrick.
I tried flashing a GSM ROM through USB and microSD but it just stops at the white screen with the loading bar at 0%. It doesn't move at all. Tried so many times and just freezes at that screen.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Please help.
Did you try pulling the battery out 1 min. and then doing a hard reset? Hold down End, Send, and Power until the screen goes into the bootloader and then to the reset screen. Then press volume up.

I am super new to this. I have 2 att tilts I followed a guide on this site and flashed them both to windows 6.5. both seemed to be working fine. My wifes had no sound though. So I searched and realized hers had an older radio than mine. I followed another guide here to update her radio. (I picked the same one as mine 1.65.21.18) I tried the sim card first and nothing happened so I tried it via sync. It got to 99% and errored. I followed the on screen commands and the second time I got 0% and errored. Now the phone is stuck in the multi color boot screen and nothing I do fixes it. I have tried searching and cant fix it. I dont know what mtty is. Please help!!!

If you are not sure how to use MTTY, please don't use it. This is a powerful tool and if its not used correctly you can definitely bricked your device. Try to read first of what you do.
I have spent hours reading and searching posts the last couple of days. If you have a helpful answer for me feel free to post it! I followed the tuorials exactly. Not to mention I already DID USE MTTY and it worked! Now I need to change the radio... All I need to know is if I need to run hard spl first or jump spl? The tutorial I followed just had me run jump....
PS. I don't need to become an expert I am only updating to sell these phones on ebay. You get more for them with windows 6.5. Once I get them working I am selling them and will never use these tools again. I switched from ATT to Virginusa and an android phone...
