Sprint tells me I can not add another line until October 1 because of a late pay awhile back. I want to add the line at BB to avoid dealing with a rebate. Is there any workaround? Do you guys have any pull? Let me know, thanks. I am paying more for my daughter to be on Cricket and its (They are) pissing me off.

last week I had the infamous spending limit cap of $150 per line, I have 3 lines.
One of the lines is used in a rural area and I called to see if they could do anything to help make sense of me keeping the line. They of course offered me a free airave, which is considered a "line" on the account. The CS actually got ahold of the credit department and had them remove my spending limit! I was kinda shocked.. I haven't tried to add any more lines but I suspect I could.
Might be a step towards adding your daughter to your plan, if you have a line in an area that gets bad reception (this can happen inside buildings even in the middle of good coverage areas )

Completely depends on your payment history, and if credit already declined youre SOL... BB has no pull, nobody has any pull besides the credit department. How long have you been with Sprint? If it's been more than 18 months than 1 late payment would not stop you - you have more on your history than youre saying

Yeah, I've been with Sprint for a while, I've been late on a few payments in the last year. I actually tried to add a line about 2 months ago and they re-ran my credit and told me no..
Granted if I was a fresh new customer or one with less than 6 months of good payment history then yeah they probably wouldn't have made the exception for me. Just offering my experience and thought it might be worth a shot.

Anyone gotten their rebate yet?

I filled out all the paperwork and sent it in. The form said 6-8 weeks, then I got a text saying 10 - 12 weeks. I wish I could float some of my payments that long. ;(
I was also wondering if anyone has gotten any trouble for not having the data plan. I signed up for the MediaMax, but the rebate said something about the PDA plan. What's the difference? Just more money and more texts? I never text. It's worthless to me.
I am hoping they don't give me a hard time, especially since I they did not say anything about this requirement when I purchased the phone, and when I wnet to sign up for it later using the online system, I got an error.
Then I tried calling to get it set up, and the CS rep was a nit wit and I wound up having to go before she could figure out what I was talking about. I think they are trying to give the cable companies a run for their money as the worst possible customer service.
I just got a text today saying that they sent out my rebate and that I should it expect it in less than 3 weeks.
When you guys sent in the rebates were you using a PDA Net plan or a Media Net plan?
I just checked online. Mine was mailed out yesterday. I was a little disappointed that it comes as a debit card, and not a real check.

MediaNet. I tried to change it online the day I sent it out (which was the last day for the rebate period) and got an error, then had to ditch my CS call as mentioned above after being on hold for 12 minutes, and it took the rep another 10 to find my account...
If they give me flack, I will point this out.

Question about using Sprint's contract change to get a Hero...

First, sorry if this is in the wrong forum... I just know that this was dicussed a while back.
So my sister is tired of her Blackberry being a piece of junk, and she saw my Hero, and was like "omg. that phone is so much better than my BB". So, since Sprint changed their contract, I can cancel a line for free right now. Is it possible to take advantage of it, and cancel her line, and then sign her up again so she can get a Hero at a subsidized rate? Because my dad was just at the Sprint store, and he said he asked them and they just said she would still have to pay the unsubsidized price. Would it work if I cancelled the line over the phone, and then signed her line up again through Sprint.com? I just want to know if anyone has done this or knows how I would go about doing this...
Thanks
Yes, that "should" be fairly easy to accomplish.
I intend to get them to just release my current upgrade status so that if something awesome comes out this spring, I'm immediately upgrade eligible.
However, like anything else customer service related, it depends who you get on the other end of the line, and how well you deal with them.
The best tact I can think of is to be totally courteous and respectful, and moderately honest. Tell them you realize that $.50 is no big deal, but since you can legally back out, and since the Nexus one just got released, you're weighing your options. Tell them you'd rather stay with sprint, but it'd be hard to resist the draw of an even better android device on a similarly priced carrier.
If you handle it right, it shouldn't be too tough to get them to upgrade your other phone to a hero at the upgrade price.
Ahh wow thanks! That means I should not only get my sister a Hero, but also ask them to release my upgrade status too... actually, all of my family's upgrade status

Correct.
That might not be so easy to accomplish, however, since you don't have an immediate end game..
They'll interpret it as you wanting to be released from your contract but without terminating service. I believe some people have done exactly that successfully, but in general, they won't do that. You need to be very clear that you want to be made upgrade eligible, not necessarily released from your contract completely.. YOu also want them to give you that in writing, so that when a device does come out that you want, you won't have a big fight with them.
I was thinking of trying to use this to get a hero also. I know carriers will try to give you incentives to stay, but does anyone think they could give a Hero as an incentive?

I doubt you'd get one free, but this is a perfect opportunity to tell them essentially "look, I can legally break my contract and go get another phone subsidized with another carrier (like the nexus one). You can keep me as a customer if you'll give me a fully subsidized upgrade with a new 2 year contract"
I'd word it more diplomatically than that, but that's the message you're trying to relay.. Someone is going to get your business for the next two years, and it might as well be them.
should we call retentions directly? I recently got my htc hero with a 2 year upgrade.. my sister isn't eligible for an upgrade for another year.. Should I just call and ask if they can reset our eligibility? I'm really not trying to hijack this thread, but I figured I'd ask.
I believe you guys have until Jan 31... cancellation direct # 8777754886
If any one has tried this, let us know here. Let use know the method you used and if you were successful. It'd be nice to upgrade to the next Android phone at a discounted price.
They broke the contract, so you can back out of it.
But they can say no when you attempt to enter a new one.
What is the contract change you guys are talking about?

Thanks for that, I am going to reserch and see when that took affect. I signed up in Oct 09.
the other way you can back out is if you are a new customer with an ASL on your account. If you dont enroll in autopay they will add 4.99 a month to your bill. That will allow you to cancel your contract but they wont let you go month to month.

Do you know if anyone has been able to get them to reset the phone upgrade eligibility?
Allowed me to switch phones.
Hey everyone. Last week I was completely irritated with my Palm Pre. The UI is amazing and has tons of potential in the future, but the hardware issues and battery drain had finally pushed me to the breaking point. I called *2, pressed the option to cancel, and after explaining the situation in addition to the material change of contract, an account manager told me that I could go into the Sprint store and get them to swap my device for a different type of phone. She did not guarantee which phone it would be though. The store, after reading the notes on my account, instantly let me switch for a Hero when I asked.
On the phone:
When I mentioned the material change of contract that Sprint was implementing on the 10th they were instantly listening and ready to help. I expressed my concerns over the Pre and that I needed to get into a different phone - even if that means canceling with no ETF and going with another provider. I was already on my 3rd Pre replacement and I've been with Sprint for 10 years, so that might have helped my situation a bit. Maybe this made me a special case scenario, but the contract change situation I believe is what sealed the deal. If your current phone is giving you issues, calling Sprint is at least worth a try during this change of contract! Also, be nice on the phone.
Can I still get out of my contract without an ETF even if the new charges don't apply to me?
I'm not exactly sure what the charges are...
Also, if you cancel your contract, does service end at the end of the month you cancel on?
i have a question, if you back out of your contract and set your account up for cancellation, can you set ut a NEW account with the same phone(different #) and the go month to month on the new account
It would apply to all everyone has admin fees.
And no, its the plan and phone with a contract length, minimum you can do is a 1 yr with the business data essentials plan .

its my understanding that the only way to go month to month is if your contract is fulfilled for the whole time you signed up for if you cancel you account they will shut your phone off that day also there is no guarantee that they will allow you to start a new contract if you just canceled (at least under the same name)

we used to be able to bill phones to our account a year or so ago and they got rid of it after so many years (been with them since 2002).. IMO they should of grandfathered customers who had the option and had their account in good standing.. it was convenient.. not sure if there was a time limit you had to pay the balance but i always paid it in full when i got the bill.

this option sound interesting, but i would guess there must be some catch.. how about those eligible for an upgrade, no phone discount? kind of sounds like you have to pay retail price.. haven't fully read the details yet, but it looks like you also have to return the old device when you upgrade?
btw, sprint has always had different class rating for each account. meaning they assign a rating to each account when it's opened. higher credit score meant you could have many lines and bill to account, those with lower score/class could only have 1 or 2 lines and no billing on account. i also believe after a certain amount of years they would increase your score if you paid your bill on time so you could get additional lines or maybe even get the bill-to account privileges.. i don't see how this can be that big a problem (people sending accounts into collections) more than they already do.
as long as I'm not getting screwed in the end, I'm all for this as I like to upgrade often lol, my wife says I have a problem

This is one of the benefits/features I miss the most and one I wish they'd bring back. I bought more phones, off contract, through BTA (bill to account) than I do without it. I always re-sign up for 2yr contracts so they weren't losing my monthly business they were simply selling phones at full retail on top of it.
Back in the bta days, you had a month to pay your account in full. If you could time it right, you could make it so the new phone wouldn't show up on the next bill. I forgot how to do that. Collections would start calling if you still had a balance the second month. I'd like to get the note 3 but I'm afraid there's not much of a hardware improvement to justify going into debt. Yeah a bigger screen and battery, but still. I'm not sure if they improved the camera module or if it's the same one that's in this phone.

I may be wrong, but i believe you can still "bill" a phone to your account. I recently purchased my S4 at best buy. I was asked to verify my account...after verifying, the best buy sales person made a call to Sprint questioning what he saw on the screen. I patiently/politely waited. Sprint confirmed to the salesperson what he was seeing. I've been with Sprint for 10ish so years...evidently I have no limits on devices or charges(correct term)? He asked if I wanted the device to be billed to my account or if I would pay them. I chose to pay and didn't think anything else about it until now. At the time of purchase, 4 weeks ago, I had the opportunity to bill my account the purchase price of the phone.
Edit: I had the opportunity to bill 2 lines. My wife kindly just reminded that we bought her phone at the same time. And she remembers thinking that it pays to pay on time.

[Q] Not being charged EIP?

Ordered my note 4 about 2 weeks after it's release. I've just gotten what I think is my 5th, at least the 4th, bill. I've yet to be charged an EIP payment. It even says there is no EIP on the account. Is it possible TMO screwed up and gave me a free phone? I know I've had plenty of screwups with them before, just never on the positive side for me. Anyone else ever have an issue like this? I don't want to bring it to their attention if they don't know, that's be dumb. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Wow, this is an interesting one. I work at tmobile. I can tell you that you would have signed an EIP agreement when you purchased the phone if you got it in store. This agreement would show how many payments you are making over the next 24 months for the phone. If you never got one of those, and you have a receipt for the full price of the phone, i think you should take the money and run haha, that sounds like a free phone. If you wish for someone to check the account without charging you for the mistake - I can give it a little overview when I get in today at 1pm PST - you'll have to PM me tho, these are private matters and I still need to follow the rules haha.

Haven't been on in a while but wanted to come back and say this is now my 7TH bill! No EIP payment anywhere. What the hell do I do? I wonder if it has anything to do with me being a customer back when phones were subsidized still? Just very strange and don't want to bring it to their attention if I don't have to, they've screwed me before so...
BTW, I didn't pay full price only the taxes when I ordered online, I believe I electronically signed an EIP but no receipt for full payment obviously though. It does show on the TMO website as being available for use with them, which, it obviously already is.

It says in billing I have no EIP on this account. Maybe I'll pick up the Gear S just to see what they say about the EIP and to play with it for a few days. Hmm..
I think the same thing just happened to me. I Pre-Ordered the Galaxy S7 Edge on T-Mobile, and it arrived on February 29th. I have now received my 2nd bill and they still haven't charged me for the phone, and the account doesn't list an active EIP on my line.
If I went to the phone section to try an upgrade it said "You are a Jump Customer. You are ineligible to jump because you have no Active Equipment Installment Plan" Since they said I couldn't jump I proceeded to take Jump off of my line and the next day when I go to the same page, there is a large "Upgrade" button next to the picture of the S7. Is that basically a confirmation that I own this phone and T-Mobile screwed the pooch?

Am I the only one that has a bill like this after swapping out the Note 7 at T-Mobile

Returned my Note 7 to T-Mobile on 9/22 for the new one and checked my account a couple of days later and this. Have since added a new line and no one bother to ask me about it. Anyone else

I got a loaner and just replaced my Note and sent the loaner back. The tracking says they recieved the phone back. So yesterday I get a bill for almost 500 bucks. My bill is usually around 250. I went to the Tmobile site and somehow another bill was generated 5 days after my normal bill. The EIP still shows on my account and the new bill shows like I am past due from the bill issued 5 days ago. It also shows like I used 2 of my jumps when I only used 1 to get the Note.
I called tmobile furious and the first thing the rep said is, di you get a loaner phone? He said the Tmobile billing is all screwed up with all the Note 7 customers because everybody is processing it differently. He said to just ignore the second bill and that tmobile is still trying to figure out how to fix everything in the billing system with so many different screw ups from the stores. Supposedly the computer system was never set up for something like this and all the stores and CS reps are having to figure work arounds in the system. That workaround is now charging me 250 bucks extra on my bill and shows I've jumped twice. Good thing I don't plan to Jump again.
Don't be surprised if your bill is all messed up. CS also told me that there was other he could do until Tmobile fixes the problems in the system and not to worry about the second bill.
Be nice if they would leave mine like that but I'm pretty sure they will fix it

My bill this last time was for $184. After them finding my last S7E that I sent back after receiving my first Note 7 via jump the bill went down to $29. I kept checking back cause I knew something wasn't right. I could see my bill for $184 but every time I would go to pay it, my balance would show as $29. Being that I was at the end of my cycle I paid and just kept checking back and my balance is still at $0.

You do know if you have a "-" in front of the number that it is a credit to your bill.
So what most in this thread are saying is we were credited for the full price of the old phones.
I just pay my bill as normal i know how much i owe them. Also they already applied a $30 for each phone i got. And i heard i will get $25 more
