So my buddy had a my touch slide and we were at buffalo wild wings, and when we team the speed test her was getting 4mb/s while my nexus one only was getting 1.7mb/s. These numbers were consistent too so it was pretty discouraging. Any idea why, am I being throttled?

Just bad luck I assume, cause my nexus pulls down over 3 mbps all the time.
I've had both devices and got the same speeds on both.

Are you guys running stock froyo? What's your bootloader status, locked or unlocked? Do you think these could affect my speeds?

your friend was on wifi and you were on your cell data... cheater
Isnt the Mytouch Slide able to handle higher speeds over cellular data?

Which wild wings?
Are you both using T-mobile?
My wife's slide loads pages faster than my nexus. I was pretty sure the snapdragon was faster...oh well its always something. Nexus still rocks more or less
We are both Tmobile, both on the network, i.e. not wifi. That's enough of a reason for someone to choose the slide over the nexus, wouldn't you think? 4mb/s vs. 1.7 mb/s?

i like the mytouch better!
SOLVED
no worries guys i found the culprit on my own , apparently i was still on my smartphone plan from tmobile, after the rep changed it from the smartphone plan to the android plan, i now get an average of 4mb/s . . . . . o yeaaaaa, android ftw
I heard there are requirments for 2.3 gingerbread like a 1ghz processor do you think 2.3 will come to the htc hero cdma via XDA
Hopefully itll be ported to the cdma htc hero SOME how without lag
What do you guys think? Will the htc hero roms have 2.3 gingerbread?
Those "requirements" are not official, and probably not true. Who knows if we will see a port of any kind.
I'm pretty sure that those required specs are bogus atm, I mean the amount of android phones without a 1ghz processor out weigh the ones with it. And Google just started getting headway on the fragmentation issue so why would they intentionally cause it again

Overclock your processor and you should be able to run it fun.
Yes. Both aosp and CM have gingerbread ROMs for our heros. I've been running it since January
Edit: Woops... should have looked at the date of the op first :duh:

No. Even the single core processors will not cause a bottleneck of data throughput.

Actually one could argue that it would actually make it faster. The dual core could speed up the rendering of a page thus making it "faster".
That's not what he asked. He asked if the 4g speed would be faster which the answer is no

100% not gonna make LTE faster. I'm maxing out the LTE sector on my Thunderbolt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdF3AnNc308
I found this in the amaze thread maybe our devs can help
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26485330
Vivid 4g lte
Holics I.C.S. 4.0.3
Motorola Atrix 2
Lithium 2.3.6
HTC One X
Stock Rom
We have working Sense 4 in all respects save for RIL, which breaks phone and data. Amaze won't help, as it doesn't have our odd LTE radio.

Hey,
I've just a quick question.
Is there any difference between velocity, vivid, raider and holiday? Or is it the same device with only different names.for different areas?
I wanted to be sure, cause i only found roms abd guides for vivids and raider.
I've also searched for sn answer but didn't found anything

I would also like to know, as I'm using an European Velocity EN-DE.
Any help would be very appreciated
I have an European Velocity with GB because Vodafone hasn't updated to ICS.
Without an ICS RUU, how can I update hboot and flash a custom rom?
Thanks
Basically same phones - Velocity has CPU set faster, others are CPU restricted by default as best as I am aware. However, CPU's are all the same, in fact all the internals are the same. There is plenty of help here as to getting these phones onto ICS, it's not that hard.
