Hi, I have a few questions. I have galaxy Ace, it is rooted, it runs 2.3.3 stock rom. It started laging a bit so I want to update the rom to 2.3.6.
My questions are:
1.It is rooted now, when I flash the new rom, stock 2.3.6 with odin,do I have to root it again or does it stay rooted?
2.Does updating with odin deletes all apps and data?
3.I have link2sd and second partition set up,I have a lot of apps on second partition, what happens with second partition when I update rom?

1. Yes, you'll need to root again after using Odin.
2. Yes, you'll lose all your data, apk, sms, etc
3. If you don't wipe your sd-ext partition you'll keep all your apk there (I didn't try it but Odin DOESN'T touch sdcard/sd-ext partition . I advise you to use Titanium Backup to save your data before flashing a new rom via Odin
Thank you kind sir
So the correct order of actions would be
1.Backup everything
2.flash stock 2.3.6 with odin
3.root it
4.restore backups
4.install link2sd and relink all the apps with sdcard/sd-ext partition
is that right?
Should I follow this tut for flashing?

If you'll install the rom via Odin, then don't need root at all. But if you'll install a custom rom via CWM, then you'll need root. After installing a rom via CWM, don't worry that if your phone would still be rooted. It would still be rooted. And yes, please don't use Rom manager. Its just not meant for Ace.
Hi Team XDA,
I have just installed CM10.1.3 on my GT-N7000. But everytime i install new Custom ROM i need to install all the Google/Apps. I have got a backup of Apks. but it s tidious to perform this task everytime when i flash rom.
is it possible install all apps at once and then when i flash new rom i don't need to reinstall it again. and it will be available when i boot up system.
Please Advice.
Thanks,
Nikhil
No as you will be changing Base.. You will need to install apps. Consider titanium Backup's update.zip feature or zip me app.
Is there is any recovery that i can flash without pc ? Rooted 157 4.4..4 locked bt
Nope,
Well,you... CAN install dual recovery manually by copying all the files and setting all the permissions, but that is NOT recommended at all as the chance of success is very VERY SLIM and im guessin you dont want to brick your phone!!'
Just install from a pc,bro.
