i have many picture that i realy need !
and i didnt did nandroid or clockworld beckup.
now i get to the point ;-)
how can i save my photos ?

anybody ?
please i realy need my photo

i don't think you can rescue the phone without reFlashing the phone via Odin3
that means you will lose everything.
there is no way to access the data on the internal SD card unless the phone works
you can try loading your firmware again without repartitioning, and see if that helps

i know but...
the thing is that the phone working, just the screen not reacting.
if i plug it to the pc i have the connection sound and i see the hard drive in "my computer". the thing is that i cannot access them becuose they unmount, i need to find away to mount them without touching the screen. like with adb shell
or by sdk...

Need Help! Bricked Phone??

Hey all,
I was trying to upgrade my Topaz to WM6.5 and obviously something went wrong.. Now when I turn the phone on, it goes to the tri-colour screen but displays the message Upgrade ROM code error please try again. After that, it goes to the white loading screen and just stays there until the numbers 00068002 in red appear at the top of the screen. Then it goes back to the tri-colour screen. I've searched the forums and tried some of the suggestions out there. Nothing has worked! Was wondering if someone could really halp me out with some step by step instructions!! Thanx in advance!
PS: I have HardSPL 1.83 installed already. That installation went well without any problems. It was when I went to flash the rom this happend.
i would suggest downloading another ROM (try the orginal ROM of your language http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=576620) and copying the TOPAIMG.nbh onto your storage card (ROOT DIRECTORY). now turn the phone on by pressing volume + and power button and then follow on screen instructions.
good luck!
dont worry, just a bad flash because of a corrupted rom
redownload the rom or any other rom.
use the card flasing as described by Drag-on or remove the storage card, (just tomake sure it does not see the rom image on it). connect it to pc. wait untill it shows usb on the 3color screen. wait untill the pc is finished installing drivers and then start the customRUU. that came with the rom you are insatalling
that should do the trick
success
Here's the thing, when I connect the phone to the PC, the PC can't find the phone anymore.. Well, it is connected, but it's not showing up on the computer.. I also don't know the original rom language for my phone.. My serial number begins with HT947L, anyone know?? I tried installing from the computer but it gives me the invalid vendor ID error..
ur computer is not suppose to read it like it would normally. (it wont recognize it in device center) but its connected. use the ruu that comes with the roms u download and u should be able to reflash ur device and dont worry its not bricked.
if u trying to do it manually rename RUU_signed that u get when u download a rom. rename it to topaimg and copy it to the root of ur microsd. then insert the card into the phone and turn it on. now ur phone should recognize the new rom and ask u if u want to install it. hope this helps
I haven't been able to find a rom that works.. I've tried several roms.. I rename them TOPAIMG.nbh and put it in the sd card but it never works. The phone will go to the loading screen and then the numbers 00068002 in red appear and then it just goes back to the tri colour screen with the words Upgrade ROM code error please try again. It just stays there after. When I try to do it manually from my computer it keep sgiving me the Invalid vendor ID error. I'm totally stuck.
I don't know if this will help, but when trying to do it manually, the program says I don't have a img on the phone. the version of the img I have is just left blank.
Update: Thanks for everyone's help! I finally found a rom that actually worked. It installed and everything. I still don't know why it had to be that certain rom and I still don't know why I couldn't flash from the SD card method. I'm really just happy everything is up and running again. I'm never flashing my phone on my own again.. lol.. If anyone knows why I couldn't flash from my sd and why I had to get a certain rom even though I had HARDspl installed please let me know. I would like to know just for future reference.

Cry for help! D:

I tried to root my G1 from this link..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480
Made it through the first few steps well, until i finally began to upgrade the image dreaimg or w,e.. It failed on me & now i cannot leave the screen. I remove the battery & turn it on. but when i do it stays in the same spot.. I tried everything & need some help.. ]:
Here is a pic of the screen.. : http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/4355/picture001bk.jpg
Did it start updating, then stop in the middle of it? Did the phone turn off due to running out of battery during the flash? Did you format your card to FAT32, download the proper RC for the original sale location of your phone?
Try pulling the battery at, then removing your SD card, do a long format to FAT32 (whether it is or not) copy the dreamimg.nbh onto the SD card, put the SD card back in the phone, put the battery back in, put it on a charger not turned on for 30 minutes, then take it off the charger...
Now that you have done all that, try booting into boot loader again by holding down the camera and power button until it goes into that screen again and does it's thing.
If this doesn't work, well, good luck since I have no idea from there.
Yes i've tried all of that.. Once i remove my battery it turns on, but as soon as i put it on again it turns on & the same screen appears.. There nothing i can do to go back to the Home screen.. D':
I most likely made a mistake but now i cannot fix this! ]:
SOme onee! please help me.. ]:
Everyone continues to ignore my thread..
have you tried to reset within there by pressing Home+menu+end? ppl are not ignoring.. jus they dont kno how to help.. as the guy already gave ideas that im pretty sure everyone would have said

When does this screen appear? Instead of the G1 screen or after it? If after, hold down home+Power and get into recovery, try reflashing your rom.

That screen is the only thing that ever appears on my phone.. ]:I cant take that screen away like i want too.. So it appears instead of the G1 screen..
If that is the only screen that ever shows up, you very well may be bricked, I hate to say it.
It really sounds like during your flashing of the .nbh file it was disrupted for one reason or another, either the battery died or it was a corrupted file, so the only file left on the phone is the boot loader. Thus, it is the only thing that will show...
Of course, I am not 100% positive without knowing exactly what you did, not being able to mess with the phone myself, and so forth.
Some people have been able to bring phones back from the dead by getting lucky and being able to get ADB to work... try plugging the phone into your computer using a data cable and see if you can get any sort of ADB to work, perhaps seeing if you can get the stock HTC update program to recognize the phone and hopefully flash it into working.

So then is there anyway to restart the phone? Like a secret way? & when i connect my phone to the computer when its shut off, it appears on the computer but not completely.. it says that one of the files are not recognized. Damn, this is really a pain.. ]:
So, you cannot boot into recovery, correct? And have you tried to connect to your pc and use ADB?

Agreed.
You should read up tutorials on ADB and see if you can use ADB to access your phone. If you can, your phone can still be recovered.
If not - then yeah, brick.

[Q] Help! I Think I bricked my phone!!

for some reason i went to reboot my phone and it wontboot just hangs.. can boot to recovery and do a factory reset.. but still wont boot.
cannot boot to download mode with vol up keypad and power.. just continually reboots to the samsung white message and starts over.. any suggestions or should i just send it back?
got it working whey.. it wouldnt boot up to recovery.. got it to goto recovery during a boot loop by plugging in usb.. i think.. the only think i can think is that earlier today i replace the mms.apk and mms.odex with an earlier version from jf3.. didnt like that at all. but i didnt reboot till later.. this was to try and work around the messaging bug in jg1.. .since i had to reinstall i am happy to report as previously reported that the the csc from jff messaging works fine the the modem and core files from jg1.. (that is what i reflashed it too..)
[Q] Help! Think I bricked my phone!!
Flashed to WJG1
Started Odin,it started to do its thing.halfway through I got the USB disconnect sound.Odin stopped , I now have a green screen
And u cant boot it to either restore or download mode?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Remove battery! put it in again!
Start in download mode! (volume down+home+power)
and reflash!
Keeps on happening.Have tried WJG1 and WJG5.With WJG5 I thought it was going to work.Got 3/4 of the way then it disconnected.

Did you use the other 512.pit file? and did you check re-partition?
Make some screenshots!
Yes to both
Did you install the latest version of Kies? (just for the driver?)
And did you close kies before you started flashing?
I think its worked.
YESSSSS
Im on WJG5 ....shall I just leave it on that. I thought I would roll back to JG1 with r2, as I was having problems with it forever scanning the SD Card, and with MTP mode keep on flashing ...initializing.
Which it is doing right now
I have the latest version of Kies installed...and I never open it.
Edit: SHOULD I be able to roll back to an earlier firmware?

As far as i know you can flash whatever firmware you would like! the best option right now is to use JG5!
Correct me if i'm wrong!
Are you on WJG5?
Do you have any problems?
The MTP constantly initializing (Not sure thats a real problem as I turn it off and use mass storage, but it should work so I want it to)
The constant Media Scanning.
Doesnt feel particularly quick.
And with WJG1+r2 I could run scripts for lag and market and it was pretty quick.
Can I run the scripts with WJG5?? r2 made it nice and easy.

Yes i am on WJG5! you can root it and you can use the lagfix!
I am currently using it without the lagfix and it works great! no blackscreens whatsoever!
Question! did you remove the simcard and sd card when you where flashing with odin?
It shouldn't be scanning for media all the time! don't know whats wrong!
Yes I did.
Following a tutorial which says to uninstall Market from Applications. When I go to Applications(clicking Fliter>All) and bringing up Market there is no option to delete
Here mate, have a look at some suggestions.
And some other quick - you should have run kies before the flashing, so it would install all the drivers, it might be your problem.
Maybe a moderator can pin this, ot some other inbricking topic/guide?
Link to tutorial - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=725858
Yeah but I have flashed it about half a dozen times previous with no problems.
Well, I dont know what happened, but after setting up my phone pretty much as it was before I thought "I didnt do a factory reset after flashing the rom", so I did so.Rebooted, went to Market and all apps are showing
What does a factory format do??
I thought it would wipe everything off the phone?
After doing one on my newly flashed SGS, I had a look at the SD card and all the folders of games/programs were still there.
i was afraid too when i flashed with the latest firmware last week
odin did nothing, so after 10 mins i remove the usb cable and put it again
then restart computer and put the usb cable ... but the computer didn't see the phone
i turn off the phone, it turn on automaticaly with a nice logo with a phone and a computer... like the phone wana tell me : "You dumb idiot, you bricked me"
I was near to be killed (its my wifes mobile, not mine) but then i tried to return into download mode and it worked and lucky the computer saw the phone
ps: i did this night, when my wife was asleep, so she didn't noticed, but if she noticed or if it was bricked ... well i guess she would kicked my ass and i would be 500box poorer

[Q] i think i killed my phone...

hi,
I hope somebody can help me here.
I think I did something really stupid (im new to this). I formatted my sd card within the phone settings and now it won't load anymore. I thought all the system files were in a partition and wouldn't get erased
When I turn it on, all i get is the samsung galaxy s screen for about 10-15 seconds them the screen goes black and the and then the samsung screen comes up again. This is all it does in a loop.
I can't get it on recovery or download mode either. The phone is probably wiped clean...
Is there somethng i can do????
I really hope smebody can give some advice.
Thanks
try this first
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
then you can use ODIN to load any firmware version and you are back and running
which model of the phone do you have?
That shouldn't be possible. SD card format in settings do not affect the system partition.
Did you have any lagfix installed?
And it's really strange that Download Mode stopped working.
It might be possible that something got fried.
Thanks guys.
I have the GT-I9000M. I'll try the test jig and see what happens. I'll let you know.
THanks again!
I found the solution! I just had to heat up the phone with a blow dryer, as suggested in other posts, and then i was able to bring the phone back to download mode.
Thanks!

Now...... its bricked.

Hi,
yeah.. its over now. My SGS doesnt longer react to USB connectivity, except power charging <3
Finally I have to get a microSD, hm?
cheers
What about downloade-mode?
download mode is workin! But neither download-mode nor cwm with mounted usb drive let my PC recognize it as an SGS.
Tried several slots and computers with different operating systems.
And by the way: my smart phone isnt booting any longer, stucks at kernel splash due to some epic-fail-flashing-moves.
I would check anyway, if odin recognize the phone!
My PC also doesn't recognize my smartphone as an sgs, during this is in downloadmode .
It's not bricked if you're able to get download mode or recovery menu.
Do you have latest SGS drivers installed? Kies installed?
If not, download them or download Kies.
Then try to flash stock JVR firmware to you phone.
Hope those work.
No, Odin does not react.
Like I said: I tried different PCs and set-ups.
But now i think it could be important to mention, that before I have had my bricked phone, my plan was to fix the phone. Because it stucked in panorama mode and showed a lock screen, like it were shown if it were connected to the SGS dock.
I didnt see any chance to deactivate it. Not even the automatic display turn worked to get back to portrait mode.
My result was that my phone got damaged by rain (maybe it got a little wet at a rainy outdoor party). In fact: I dont know what happenend, but at this time i wasnt able to connect it as a mass storage and at this time it stucked in this wierd dock-mode.
Now my clever move: shut down => cwm => format everything => boot => wonder why it doesnt work => short remember of the USB problem => **** => problem solving Plan B
Yeah thats all.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236273
Suggestion:Maybe you can try this !!??
Pls take it as friendly advice
OR you should try to get a Jig and enter Download mode
I didnt know about the thread you just linked, thanks for the really friendly advice !
But seriously, this is nice to know and he can have my device if theres no hope, but i wont give it up this early.
Just reinstalled KIES but didnt change anything. Any clues ?
I had the same problem with my phone where basically Windows 7 refused to detect the phone (probably the drivers weren't being cleaned out properly when I reinstalled them). I think it maybe worth a shot if you got the time to try Ubuntu with Heimdall and just for kicks try it with a different USB cable if you haven't done so already.
dude try to uninstall the DRIVERS for the phone(usually found below KIES uninstall) and then install KIES again
Hope this helps
good luck
I gave it back to the store and they repaired it. Fortunately without any costs
Even my internal storage card hasnt been touched. My SGS is now stock 2.3.3 jvi
