Anyone having issues with the app Lookout? I keep getting "lookout failed to initialize." It appears to not be able to log in. I tried several times and even attempted to make a new account, but the app does not appear to be running. I can login fine from the web.
It was working fine until I updated the app and upgraded to CyanogenMod v5.0.5.0 & v5.0.5.1, however I am unable to do a nand restore to an older version, as when I did it seems to be corrupted. I'm trying to pinpoint where/what the issue could be and if I'm not the only one.
Same here.
CyanogenMod 5.0.5.3 Nexus One
App2SD enabled with ext4
You'll have to deactivate App2SD prior Lookout Installation.
Lookout need to run on the internal memory for some reason.
Reinstall without this option and it should work fine.
Thanks everyone for uncovering this issue. We'll be sure to add that to our FAQ.
How important is being able to install to SD Cards to you?
So, I tried installing the patched version of Skype posted here so that I could have video calling on my Galaxy S. I installed the original Skype and got to installing the patched version. During the installation it said that there was no space available. Fairly confident I had enough space I decided to remove a few unnecessary apps anyway, but the problem persisted. I decided that it was a lost cause and reverted to the original Skype. However this is deciding not to install now, giving the same error that there is insufficient space available.
I've tried wiping the cache from recovery mode but I'm not sure what else I should try.
Other apps are installing fine by the way.
Uninstall and wipe all Skype data using titanium backup then reinstall

Is there a way of doing this without rooting?
Stock skype pretty much takes over your phone when installed so removing all pieces of a hacked skype requires titanium backup with root previliges.
Install gtalk (video working) if you have root privileges, skype has become bloatware so uninstalled.

See if you can find the package name "com.skype.raider" listed in Settings > Applications > Manage Apps. > All
If that is true, wipe all data and uninstall. Then try re-installing Skype again.
I just got a new captivate 2.2 out the box how can I enable non market apps or unknown sources?

The way I have done that is to first root your phone using Shortfuze's superoneclick root. There is also an option on that program to allow non-market apps.
ATT recently pushed an update that allowed non-market apps to be installed. This was to specifically accommodate the installation of the Amazon App Market. However nothing shows up the the settings where you are supposed to click the radio button/ check box to allow non-market apps, they just install. Try installing a non-market *.apk and if it works your phone is currently allowing non-market apps. It was working for me. If it's still not working and you don't want to root. Sideload Wonder Machine works great. Only downside to that is that it involves the use of a computer and USB cable. It is far easier than sideloading though the android sdk though.
Hi all,
I have problems with data mode again :-S
This time with mebitek's 7.2.0-RC1 v1.2.
I wiped data & cache, google apps installed, camera 0.7 and restored my apps with Titanium Backup.
The APN looks fine and I make sure the three checkboxes ("Data active", "Itinering data" and "National data roaming") are active (I've also tried with "National data roaming" disabled) and wifi is disabled. But I don't see the data connection icon.
It worked fine for me with mebitek's 7.2.0-RC1 v1.0.
Anybody with this problem?

Most users who had this prob had wrong apn settings installed. So look at your settings carefully.

The v1.0 of the mod configures some APNs automatically for me and it works as-is. This v1.2 configures the same APNs the v1.0 does, but they don't seem to work for me.
I've also tried to create a new APN manually. This worked in the another mod that didn't configure any APN automatically, as said above in this quote:

That's why I think the problem is not in the APN.
Anybody else with this problem in this rom?
Anybody with this rom and data mode working?
Thanks in advance.

Hi!
I've reflashed the rom and it seems to work now as-is.
I'll restore my apps carefully to see if any of them makes the problem reappear.
yes

All the apps restored and all my config set again. Everything ok.
During the process, I've rebooted several times. In one of the "sessions", the data icon didn't appear and I thought the problem was back. However, it seems to work again after rebooting without changing anything.
I had the same issue. Had to restart to get back gprs connection. Might be something with the ROM.
First off I am running lolipop and have been working to find a way to disable bloatware that you don't want. I can't root as I'm on a att s5 lolipop...
finally found out how to get those apps that can't be disabled disabled.
Instructions:
1. Find the app that your wanting to dissable... let's say for example My Magazine.
by default in lolipop this app can't be disabled without root... frown face.. bad day...
2.Search for an apk file online for that app you want to disable.
And install it.
3. Here's what happens now... since you just updated the system app yourself, you now have permissions over it.
So to disable the app go to app manager and look under downloaded. You will notice that now the app that previously could not be disabled... now can be. You also have the option to uninstal the update... update only unfortunately but oh well.
Now you have just succusfully disabled My Magazine or what ever other system app that can't be disabled.
If you need any help just ask.
Update.
I can only currently get this to work for my magazine on 5.0
Possibly a version issue where u have to fine a version newer.
in any case the my magazines I downloaded did install. And afterwards was able to disable
