Heym
i just did some testing with various devices and BT-receivers over the last days. It is known that audio over bluetooth may be one second out of sync, if the receiver is only capable of using the sbc codec and the sender has to recode the stream. Funny thing is: using my Nexus 7 with latest SlimBean Beta, i don't have this delay. Same setup* with my HTC One (also running SLimBean Beta), delay is there. Any dev could explain where exactly the magic happens? I don't believe in any performance issues regarding the recode, as both devices are pretty much high end. Perhaps some tweaking on the bitpool-settings?

My friend from South Korea sent me an early birthday gift and low and behold it was a cool Chromecast key :victory::laugh: WOW THANKS but... I have a unique setup a 180" screen and Projector. This AMAZING projector (W7000) has no audio out and no way to utilize audio from Chromecast :crying: How sad... Well I discovered these audio extractors to get audio out but frankly I would love to retain max color, 3d, and 7.1 on DD+ this is not going to be easy. Then I got to thinking how come no one has developed an app which can sync the 2 outputs (multicast) from DDWRT or other at the router / gateway. Or in another way perhaps.
Two questions remain
1) Audio extractor where can I get a cheap but good one ? (seen them exceeding 200 dollars common)
THE BIG QUESTION IS
anyone know how to do this yet or perhaps if I should sell the thing and get a different setup for these projectors I have 3. (kinda committed to the output device already hehe.):cyclops:
This is what I used because the Chromecast wasn't compatible with my TV. (I had video but no audio)
www,ebay,com/itm/291119088532 $29 - has optical audio out.
Impossible to sync audio to two separate sources that are networked...
What you really want to do is get yourself a good AV Amplifier (with HDMI Inputs), not an Audio Breakout.
You will get full Surround support and would plug the CCast into the Amp and send the video from the amp to the Projector.
To answer the second question in your subject, root won't help you here. As @Asphyx said, it's near-impossible to accurately maintain A/V sync between separate networked devices. It requires sub-second synchronization and without some other constant reference not subject to network transmission delay it's very prone to failure.

Don't want to loose the 3d though and according to Wiki (not their ad on ebay) there is no 3d until 1.4 : so how come they are advertising 1.3 with 3d ?
Ohh btw does this device work 1:1 for lag or is there a few ms' wait ?
Thanks guys this really helps

AFAIK Chromecast doesn't support 120 Hz output (so no full-res 3D), though side-by-side 3D should work on pre-HDMI 1.4 as it's not doubling the rate to get L/R.
There shouldn't be any noticeable lag introduced as it's simply a de-embed at the endpoint.
Is anyone else experiencing low quality streaming with Pandora while using a mobile connection? On WiFi it sounds just fine but as soon as I swap over to mobile it sounds like compressed trashed. I've already got the cellular high quality stream enabled in Pandora.
On past phones I haven't been able to tell the difference in audio quality between WiFi and mobile in Pandora. Does the Moto X/4.4.4 handle AAC streams differently?
Do you have the option checked for high quality streaming? My guess would be that you get the higher bit rate stream via wifi that you don't on a cellular connection unless you have the option box checked in settings.
I have it checked already. It makes very little difference. The cellular stream vs the WiFi steam is still completely different in terms of quality. I never had this issue on any of my previous devices (HTC One Mini, HTC First, Samsung Galaxy SII, etc) and that's why I'm thinking it may be some codec issue with Motorola.
Hi, I understand the P20 Pro hardware supports aptx and aptx HD butdoes this work out of the box or does a codec need to be installed? I can see it in the Bluetooth section of the developer options but I can't select anything but SBC.
Thanks

Does the option only change when connected to a compatible Bluetooth receiver? I thought my car receiver was compatible but if that's the case then I guess not.
I had the same issue with regards to Bluetooth defaulting to SBC, after some reading I discovered that it was possible to change the Bluetooth mode on my headphones by holding a button combination, it went from prefer connection to prefer sound quality and unlocked aptx and LDAC on my Sony MDR-1000X. So the P20 Pro is definitely capable of it without any additional codecs.
Maybe read the manual for your device and see if it also has something like this.

I have this problem too.
On my OnePlus One i can change the audio codec, it should not depend on the bluetooth headphones connected. My Mpow Wolverine sounds way better with the One Plus One, on the P20 pro it sounds like sh*** ;any suggestion?
I have headphones that are both SBC and AAC compatible.
Paired to my pixel, aac works great.
Paired to p20, it sutters, skips and is stuck on SBC
I noticed when there is an actual icon just after the Bluetooth device name of my headphones that says 'APT-X', in the phones Bluetooth settings.... My previous Huawei P9 didn't have it or support it so did surprise me a little as I didn't look into it when switching.
On the P20 you can change the BT codec (in developper settings) but the settings doesn't stay...

Yes, same to me.
It's a bit frustrating, seems like i have to buy another Bt headphone, also another usb c headphone.. but that is another problem
Same **** here, guys.
PowerBeats 3 are in AAC with Pixel and S9, but in SBC with my P20 Pro. And I also hate that EQ is not avaliable.
I have emailed Huawei, but those dumb idiots are asking for IMEI and system version... They don't realise, that it's a wide problem....

Contentear Huawei Team, I have purchased my P20 Pro during a first sales week at your store in Singapore. In general, I am happy with it, but, I have COMPLETELY confused with your audio experience. PROBLEM: I own two pairs of headphones: Bose QuietComfort 30 and PowerBeats 3. I don't understand why I am not able to tweak EQ over the bluetooth! S7 was able to do it, old Sony Z2 was able to do it too, but 1000$ phone by Huawei with triple camera and AI can't provide damn equalizer! I don't need any processing by Dolby, I just want to add some bass, because I am lisening to EDM, not a classical music, I don't need a analytical audio presentation. Then, codec selection is broken! PowerBeats are not able to get their native AAC, and Bose are working in SBC mode. What a shame! I can't tweak audio, and I have to listen compressed nonsense. I didn't expect that I will have to deal with such problem in the 1000$ phone. Please, release the software update, I would like to have at least eq.

Has anyone got aptx HD working? Is it much better sound quality than ACC?
Thinking of buying some Sony 1000xM2 which are aptx HD compatible but if the sound quality isn't any better, I won't waste my money

My Sony MDR100's use LDAC and sound great. They have a built in EQ profile that kicks in once they are powered on according to reviews. I could of sworn it was using APTX HD at first but I was mistaken.

Ah, I didn't know the P20 Pro supported LDAC.
Just got to wait for my Bose to sell on eBay now
Tried on a few different headphones here. Seems apt-X is working, AAC is not.
110 firmware.
My p20 pro is on order and not arrived yet, but what you should try is:
1. Clear bluetooth connection of remembered device
2. Enable Developer settings, go to settings->about phone->click on 'buid number' a bunch of times (8?? from memory)
3. Go to: Settings->developer settings->the bluetooth sections and select whatever you want to be the normal
4. Re-connect your bluetooth device. If its compatible then it will default to your previous selection.
At least, this is how it works on my S8, Zenphone 3 deluxe and Oneplus 3T, with my Sony WH-1000XM2 and audiotechnica headsetsand WI-1000X.
But they all have custom roms and i have never had a Huawei so im not 100% sure.
In theory the Bose QC 35 ii headphones support both SDC and AAC but I can't select AAC in the developer settings. Are others having the same experience?

Yeah I get the same issue with the bose headphones but ldac works when I connected to a sony speaker
Im in the process of buying some earphones that supportthe newer aptx low latency codec as I will be using them for gaming aswell. We know p20 pro supports aptx and aptx HD but does it support aptX LL

Yeah just received my Anker SoundBuds Curve headphones and it shows aptX next to the connection in the bluetooth settings. I guess AAC isn't supported as it's not listed on Huawei's tech specs page- https://consumer.huawei.com/uk/phones/m/p20-pro/tech-specs/ I also don't see aptX LL on there so I supposed that's also not supported
I've changed nothing. Only installed .128 Firmware with funky Huawei. When I connect my Ultrasone Sirius Bluetooth Headset there is automatically a aptx-Icon near the name. Nothing to change in developer-settings. See my picture on instagram:

Heyho! I've been researching everywhere but have not found a viable solution to permanently set the LDAC bitrate on an android Device. I have extremely basic coding skills, so I'd love someone to help me out and make this together.
PROBLEM
When using Headphones that support the LDAC audio codec (developed and support by Sony and Sony Headphones), many Android Devices wrongly default to a lesser bitrate (like 660kbit/s) or force you to use "adaptive bitrate (up to as little as 300kbit/s which is less than even inferior SBC)". Changing the bitrate to the maximum 990-909kbit/s setting in developer options often doesn't work and won't stick when the Headphones are reconnected or the phone is rebooted.
SOLUTION
A Magisk Module similar to "Bluetooth Audio Bitrate Changer" that permenantly sets the bitrate for the LDAC codec (not yet supported by the affirmentioned module).
Let me know if anyone would be interested. Cheers!
Same problem ..
have you found a solution?
Ward, still hoping someone would make it
Im going to ask for it again ;-;
PROBLEM
When using Bluetooth dongle that support the LDAC audio codec (FIIO BTR5), my Devices (s8/poco x3 pro) wrongly default to a lesser bitrate (like 660kbit/s) or force you to use "adaptive bitrate (up to as little as 300kbit/s which is less than even inferior SBC)". Any solution? This doesnt happen in my sony xz since it had option to override ldac sound bitrate from the sony rom itself

seems people will just pretend this problem never exist ..... F
Solution: Install sony music center
I use samsung. It was same problem that in developer options it is defaulting to optimized connection.
But when I have installed sony music center app and in app options selected audio quality prefered on device after restarting phone now in developer options it is 990kb streaming is a default when connected to sony xm2.
I hate this as well. I do not fully understand why is this LDAC settings hidden in developer settings in the first place. You buy 400 bucks LDAC capable Sony headphones and you have to connect the BT, go to developer settings to change correct bitrate and frequency every single time as a complete moron.
If anyone capable can bring this (maybe simple) module to magisk I would make a statue for him
Hi, have the same problem.
On top of bitrate, I would like it to stick with constant 44.1kHz/16bit since that is about what LDAC can handle bandwidth-wise. But on my s10 it defaults to upscaling to 96kHz/32 bit, which then loses a lot of bits due to limited bandwidth.

I think you should not be able.
I've been searching everywhere for this functionality, but to no avail. However I've just found a workaround with the Sony Music Centre, so big thanks to whoever mentioned that. To be clear I'm not using Sony headphones. My setup is a Samsung phone and a pair of Fiio EH3's. I did it like this:
1. Installed the Music Center app
2. Powered up my BT headphones
3. Clicked on the 3 dots menu > Music Center Settings > Bluetooth Output Settings > LDAC Playback Quality > Priority on Sound Quality. This setting forces Optimised for Audio Quality in Developer Options.
5. Close the Music Center app. Note do not kill / force stop.
The magic bit is that I can then switch off my BT headphones, and when I switch them back on the 990-909 kbps setting persists. I can even reboot the phone and the setting sticks. The down side is that it also forces 96kHz/32bit. So I'm not suggesting its perfect.
The only action I've found that resets everything is a kill / force stop of the Music Center app. I then have to go back through the process of re-enabling the setting in the app.
Hope this works for others in their setups, at least until someone with the skills makes a proper fix.
Ahh tyvm bro

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it does not work with WH-1000XM4 and my samsung galaxy S9/redmi note 10; nothing I do seems to make the "optimize for audio quality" stick in developer options after I disconnect/reconnect. It always reverts back to "best effort" when I restart the headphone. Did anybody manage to make it stick with a S9 after disconnect/reconnect?
Alternatively, could you give me smartphone names where the "optimize for audio quality" sticks after a disconnection/reconnection ? Thank you vey much
Bumping this as my phone resetting it's LDAC quality setting when it reconnects to my car bluetooth every time I get in or out of the car is driving me batty. What's the point of LDAC if it defaults to a quality that is worse than SBC fer cryin' out loud?
I was also looking for an app or solution with same requirement , to set the LDAC properties to the highest setting when connecting to my LDAC Bluetooth receiver.
Bluetooth Codec Changer App does this.
Hope this helps.....
