if I'm not mistaken, I believe I did saw an article mentioning that the built-in SD in i9000 is only class 2, which has only 2MB read per second. Can any one here verify this? Or is there any guru here willing to share something about this?
it's rated as a class 4 according to speed testing Apps

I have a 8gb class 4 card. Been using it for over a year. I've just noticed lately that sometimes I bring up all the apps on the phone and I see some loading up. Maybe its due to the class 4...so I've been thinking of getting rid of A2SD. Just formatting the card and leaving it as is. No Fat32, linux-swap or ext3. Would that be an issue running Cyanogen 5.0.7 Test 3?

Do some research, half of this post makes no sense. Fat32 will just have to exist if you want any music, files, etc. Swap can be enabled/disabled. And you can move apps to and from SD and Internal whenever you'd like through application settings on the new CM rom.
Seeing apps loading in the app drawer is most likely based on your class 4 card. If your apps will have no problem fitting on your internal storage then there is really no reason for you to have apps2sd enabled. If you have no intention of going over your internal storage with your apps then I agree with your assessment and opinion of getting rid of apps2sd.
Use the option in CM rom to move the apps you have to the internal storage and reformat your sd card to have one partition for FAT32 so you can use if for storage and be done with it.

Seeing the applications filling in to the app drawer is a function of having a LOT of applications installed. It takes time for each application to process and get added. It would be the same on internal if you had enough space to install that many applications.
Of course a C6 sdcard would be faster than your C4.
Note: The secondary benefit to having applications on the sdcard is BANDWIDTH. Each storage device is capable of transferring data as some maximum speed. Distributing reads/writes across two devices can produce a peak bandwidth equal to the SUM of the bandwidths of the individual devices. To take proper advantage of this would, however, require that you carefully BALANCE the location of the various bits of data you are accessing such that it actually WILL try to access data from the two locations simultaneously.
just watched this video and i know this isnt stuff really 'under the hood' but cmon, half of these features this guy is on about are either available in apps, or already in TouchWiz 3 ....

Also one of the features i do like the sound of, is moving apps to SDcard. Does anyone know the speed of the internal memory card or internal memory? which is the possibility of being the fastest and could this reduce lag with apps, say if you have a class 6 micro sd ?

I think the class of an SD card only has to do with write speed, so unless you're recording video or something you shouldn't notice it too much.
Also from what I've seen of the Froyo rom there are some new features like flash enabled web browsing, more settings in notifications pull down like turn off auto rotation, coloured settings icons, JIT compiler, & others I can't think of atm.
Yea like you say, adding a button to turn off auto rotate lol, I've had that since day 1.. Looks like visually there's only 2 changes, and flash compatability seems to be threw main feature. Don't see what asl the hype is about

2.2 is a minor update. Gingerbread is rumoured to be a much larger update.
Main thing for 2.2 is the speed bump due to JIT, flash 10.1, and apps that need 2.2 to work, like the new voice search/dialling features and Chrome2phone.
Apps2sd isn't something that's an issue for SGS, as it has 2GB of storage space for apps, compared to 140ish MB on Nexus One / Desire and other phones.
How do i make use of my micro-sd 32GB external SD card ?
like can i take video's / movies and add to it ? or is it strictly for like putting music on etc. /
how do i make full use of it ? what can I put on it ? etc. ?
Use it however you like and put whatever you want on it. This is Android not iOS.
change storage settings when in the camera to SD card and you can use it from there.

I've had my phone for 3 months with it -- and it hasn't moved.
I'm asking why ?
I've taken tons of pics/video's - d/l tons of apps, etc.
But yet it's still at 31 GB or so
my question is WHY. How can I make it so that when i take vid's it goes to external SD ?

i think i answered that at the same time you sent this message. go to camera, change the settings, scroll to the end and change storage to memory card.
I was just trying out Honeycomb and found some weird issues.
First and most disturbing question is, Why is my 16GB SD card now recognized as 128 MB SD card in everything I put it in? Is there a fix for this? I would love to have the full 16 GB accessible since being able to dual boot would be the best of both worlds.
I can now do ADB which I could not do before but now I cannot access the Nook through USB. With a Autonootered 1.1 it was the opposite. <--not really a question.
Also, when if every will there be a full Android Market? With Autonootered 1.1 it was extreamly limited and would only show the top 10 results even when it said there were about 150 or so results. With Honeycomb it shows all of the results the Market says it found. There are still a lot of apps missing from the market. I only see free ones. Some of my other research found that the full market is only available to phones with 3g or only certain phones.
Thanks in advance.
You need to reformat your sd. Do it using another android phone or do it in a pc. Reformat to the full size. There are two cwr flashes, a big one and a small one. It sounds like you used the smaller one

Found the question on about page 95 (posted by Breakthecycle2) and found a cryptic answer on page 99 (by donhu) of the Honeycomb preview image thread.
Here is a boiled down guide
Download EASEUS Partion Manager
Install it and open it
With the SD card in your computer it should show up along with your computer's HD.
Select the SD card. You will see all of the partitions of the SD card.
What you want to do is to select the SD Card partition
Right click and select resize/move then drag the right hand side to make it as big as you want.
This shows up as SD card on the File manager and you can now use it to store what you want.
Hope this helped
Hi,
Is it possible to change the storage used by note 8 to the SD card for every app. Like it should use only the SD card as memory for everything and not stuff the phone memory?

Please revise your title to reflect Note 8.0 Tablet, we are getting way too many Note 8 phones because peeps are too lazy to properly name their device. If being specific use the model name, like GT-N5110, for wifi only.
I use two plug ins for xposed. One is Downloads2SD, and the other is XinternalSD. Reason is the script for making SD be internal slows down your device. Plus it has some bugs depending on the Android version, and particular app being used.
Even though the modules to xposed will do the same as the script, I choose to only use them for particular usage not full SD usage.
There is OOB to SD as well for games and some apps that don't move OOB to SD automatically.
