Just updated to jpc today and I'm liking it so far, my only issue is the flash performance watching video online, it's pretty poor. Just wondering if the lag fix improves this at all? Any feedback is appreciated, cheers.

After updating to froyo I am experiencing lag while watching videos. I am using oclf. Out had only started since froyo update.
I have also tried resetting and re flashing. With no effect the rest of the phone is quite fast..
Is this happening to anyone else and is there a fix

Wow.. so many people having problems with froyo update?

I am experiencing 'lag' while playing the game 'Asphalt 5'. Can any good samaritan tell me what the reason might be and also what can be done to remedy it? My guess is that the phone is running short on RAM.
Thanks
Could be. Are you on gingerbread?
P.S. you can always apply lagfix that will boost your perdormance

Maybe this is just me because I didn't find anything similar after searching the forum...
Videos played smoothly on the stock froyo rom, but after I moved to overcome 2.0.0 RC1, I noticed videos would play with intermittent choppiness.
I figured out that unchecking the "SD: Speed tweak" in the Tweaks app fixed the issue.
Hope this is helpful.
I actually have this issue as well. I see stutter every 30 seconds - 1 minute or so. Was silky smooth before. Hope this one gets sorted, as apart from that Overcome is awesome.
depending on the material youre playing there are some issues right now. search for "stagefright". Changing with blade buddy is the easiest way i think.

I's not overcome related. Even with the stock rom you have this problem.

I meant stuttering
Stuttering, that was the word I was looking for.
Thanks zetsurin for your accurate description.
In any case, my mix of 720p MP4 videos and 480p and 1080p AVI videos all play smoothly now.
And yes, overcome rocks! It gave me a new tablet.

I was replying to the op? Not you, so in that case it was overcome related.

I have noticed that when I click a button, I usually have to wait from 1-2 seconds before I get a response. Would lagfix take care of this? I'm running stock Froyo.
As many have stated all the lagfix does is help fix the very slow rts file system, it most likely would not help in your case.
Best thing to do is delete unused apps, and reboot the phone every day or to(seems to help mine out, cant guarantee results)
Also if you havent needed root in 5 months you probably don't need it
Unless you want to use opitimised roms, I dont see why you would need to root. Check your memory usage delete unused apps and reboot the phone ever once in a while.
My honest opinion, no reason to have an android phone if you are not using roms

Gonna have to agree with mcord here. had to go back to stock froyo for about 5 hours (didnt have all my tool to get back my 2.3.4 ROM) and it was horrible.
you might not be up for it but i really recommend flashing a Froyo Custom ROM from one of the xda DEVs. you'll love your phone and be amazed that it can be so much smoother and responsive.
First thing I did after i rooted was flashed a new kernel to overclock. Performance increased but battery life was poor. Then my first rom was cm7..been hooked since..tried miui once then went back to cm7.

This is what lagfix can do for your phone.
Im using stock mosaic V 2.3.4 rom with no overclock.

Providing arbitrary benchmarks does not seem like an actual reason to employ a lag fix.

No a Benchmark score is not the best example to lag fix your phone ,but the more power you get, plus better battery life and, better perrformance are great reasons to lag fix your phone. I just posted the quadrant score so kb0npw can see the increase performance from normal rfs file system to ext4(lag fix).

Lol people always thinking benchmarks scores mean everything

I dont think he thought it meant everything, he was giving a simple before and after which showed some improvement. Quadrant can actually be pretty useful when trying to gauge what effects certain changes have on your phone, say you score a 1900 before you change 'x' and then 2200 after that change, then you know its increased performance somewhat and youre moving in the right direction. How much it has increased your performance is debatable, however. My point is quadrant can be a useful tool when making changes on your phone if you take it with a grain of salt.
EDIT: To answer op's question, Read up on some custom roms and flash one, the difference is phenomenal and you'll wonder how you went 5 months without them. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me and I'll see what help I can be
Hi Guys,
I want some feedback regarding ICS update. Is it worth it? I am on Rogers (Canada). Any one experience ghost call/sms? How stable is it?
I would appreciate any feedback?
Thanks
A lot of users are having difficulty with the base band working. There's a thread about it in the optimus forums. My son uses mine to play angry birds. Wifi works well. I think someone mentioned problems with Bluetooth connections. As with most things your mileage may vary.

Mine runs ics great a little lag at times but pretty good working it all out though

From my experience MMS sucked, the camera was buggy, and there's a lot of Korean bits left in it. I think GB Prometheus ROM has it beat by a long shot to be honest. If you like working on Android you'll enjoy it cause you will be doing a lot of it.

It charges the phone a lot faster, battery's charge lasts longer than before while not using the phone.
Once you have flashed the baseband with the fastboot procedure (because once you have flashed the ICS rom you lose the GB download mode) and once you have deleted all the Korean T, Nate and SKT bloatware, it runs pretty great...HOWEVER!!!
You ARE NOT going to be able to adjust the brightness while watching 3d videos or movies while using the stock player...
You ARE NOT going to be able to use the 3D Converter as you used to with GB because IT DOES NOT TRANSFORM ANY GAMES TO 3D!!!
The CAMERA PROBLEM!!!
Some games are not running like they should (ocassional slowdowns not present while using GB) even if they are in 2D and you have most of the telephone's ram free.
Everything else appears to be working fine.
So far I've had great results with wifi, sms, and phone on straight talk in USA. Wish I could say for Rodgers. There is a thread here that discusses working basebands for the O3D and the Thrill. you should check it out.
