[Q] European character set - Which Firmware ? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, so no help from the audience then
I will try and re-flash with a different CRC
I think I need OXA but that does not include Czech language
Is there a way to combine CRC's ?

Try using CSC with OXX, you can read more about CSC and make a general ideea about them in threads like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770821. Reading the threads around here will give you allot of info, but I gues is easier just to open a new Thread, crowding the Development Thread even more than it is, with questions that allready have answers just by reading or using the Search button.
Cheers.

I do use the Search but it's sometimes hard to comprehend all the information at hand. Some it might be outdated or plain wrong
In essence, I want additional languages but without having to re-flash the whole phone again. So,
1. Can I reflash only a part of the system, such as *JUST* the CSC ?
2. Can I install more than 1 CRC?
3. What if I install OXX, do I lose English? Its not listed in the supported languages
I will be checking you query posts to see if you fall foul of the same act

For additional languages the FW has to support them. In general, the XX Firmware has the most languages. You can find out more here
1. I don`t know, never had to so I didn`t try to find out if you can, but it should work
2. No
3. Most FW, if not all, have English

Newbie User Question

I am the proud owner of an Xperia X1
Its branded on UK Vodafone, I have been lurking and reading the posts on flashing the rom and removing the Vodafone barnding etc from the phone.
One quick question though, if I flash the rom will I lose any of the apps that I have installed on the phone?
If thats the case could someone recommend a good app to back all the software up to my pc before I flash it?
many thanks
Yes, you will lose all preinstalled applications and there's no easy way to back them up. They are however often available for download somewhere, look around the forums and you'll find most - if not all.

[Q] Random Note query

Hey guys/gals
I am seriously considering looking into putting ICS on my Note by using these forums and guides etc (I am a complete knowledgeless noob when it comes to this root/flash etc etc stuff), but I would like to know the following if someone would be kind enough to answer -
1- If I tamper with my device, and if said device ever has to go back to the network operator for repairs etc, how can I wipe everything and revert back to factory settings? is it as simple as hitting factory settings? I would not want them to refuse to service/repair/replace the device if I messed around with it. So is this reversible?
2- what is the best and most simplest way to put ICS on my n7000 if I chose to go down this route and not wait for my UK network operator (Orange) to release their own one? (maybe someone can link me to a good option?)
3- If the part 2 is done, should I get rid of it and use the operator version once they release? or stick with the one I am contemplating installing.
Sorry to be such a pain in the proverbial, would appreciate the help
Kind regards

I will try to answer in a short manner.
1. You can allways flash a stock GB or ICS no matter what you might have done to it. Atleast aslong as it is functioning properly.
2. In my opinion the best and simplest way is to flash a stock ICS through PC Oding. Here is a good guide and plenty of Stock Roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
3. I wouldnt get a operator version since they are usually even more bloated than samsungs stock version. And I dont see any benefits with a operator branded version.
Regards
Thank you Belfia,
I will consider this a little more, and it seems that I need to purchase a Micro SD to do all this? so that is next on my to-do list
Regards,
Barry

Newbie from iPhone moved to android, got some questions please help me..

Hi, while I am not from the US and don't know about carriers and their specific OS updates I'll try my best to answer your questions
1. All Firmwares for US devices can be found at https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s10-plus/firmware/SM-G975U/, I couldn't find your version on the list, it is possible Sam Mobile doesn't keep a track of AT&T.
2. To the best of my knowledge, you need a PC to use Odin (software to flash firmware), a work PC should allow USB access and let you install drivers so that you can update your device.
3. Yes you can Jump versions, and mostly you can jump back too.
4. Yes it will wipe your phone.

s7 edge help needed

hello, umm I'm very new to this, consider me a noob for forums, but I really had no other ideas on who to turn to... so my apologies in advance. so, recently, I discovered this whole thing, I didn't even know how to work it out until couple of tries, until I managed, to, but, in the end, what happened is: my first rom to ever install I think was FloydQ if I remember, but, then when I wanted to restore to official firmware, I got an error when using Odin, so like, what happened in FloydQ installation was, I got to the part where it asked me to select a csc code, which at the time i had no idea what it meant, and I chose a random code for OXA, and my original code is ILO, but the issue is, I downloaded endless firmwares for ILO, but none of them worked, always ended up with a fail in Odin, I just wish to restore original firmware with ILO csc code, but no matter what firmware i tried, it just didn't let me.. please some help here? I could really use some.. any help will be good enough much thanks to all who can, best regards, and God bless...

SM-R845F bricked after flasing combination software with netodin

Hi, I tried flashing my galaxy watch 3 (SM-R845F) with combination software (to then proceed to all the necessary steps in order to change CSC), but after all the flashing process went through, I received a fail message. Now my watch is bricked and I understand there could be an etoken issue that somehow needs to be taken care of, yet not sure if this applies to my specific case. Could anyone help? thx
More details...
For instance...
A
Filenames... because more then 1 file exists...
B
netOdin and also Odin "talks" to you... this called Logfile...

Watch is not more swimming? Flying? Or cooking?
Tiny hint...
With Crystal Ball on...
Your Combination Firmware was still with meta-data folder...

Hi, thx for your help. Things have evolved a bit. I was following technoproz's video (
) to see if I could change my CSC in order to get samsung pay working on my SM-845F . I hence started flashing it with the combination file (COMBINATION FT55 R845FSQU1AUB1, I also tried with 3 or 4 earlier releases, same issue) but on reboot it would initially get to a splash screen (can't remember what it would say) and then was permanently hooked onto a boot loop . However, on reboot, it would allow me to access the reboot menu, get to wifi hotspot mode, and I was able to connect it to odin ( I use netodin 3, 1.0) . I reflashed it with it's firmware (R845FXXU1CTJ5 Tizen 4File) and the watch is now working again (maybe just a few changes from the version it initially came with). Unfortunately, when I check the logfile, it only registered the last activity, in this case, my firmware reflash (so nothing related to the previous combination flashing), which went fine. Was wondering wether the initial combination flashing bricking/boot loop issue could be related to some flags I would need to check on the otions tab in netodin..
However, my issue still remains unsolved, i still can't change my CSC to italy (that's where I am right now) to setup samsung Pay, but most of all to set up the esim.
Thanks for any suggestions

This night another time Samsung or banco Santander locate my smartwatch (Spain region and PHE) and erase my card... So they locate the serial number I think, so for me it's nothing to do...
